Summary
The Sea God had only ever had one demigod daughter. Sons he had aplenty, immortal daughters came up quite a lot. But a daughter by a mortal? That was as rarer than he and his brothers being in accordance with one another. Poseidon had one daughter and then Neptune had one but they shared the same soul, the same name. All his children were important to him, beloved by him, but she was utterly precious for her rarity.
And then she died, tragically and horribly just as he had consented to her marriage to Apollo, just as he was about to keep her with him forever. The seas raged and plagues devastated the world both times. And then she returned a third time at the worst possible time, a prophecy foretelling destruction and the existence of his demigod children all but outlawed.
Rhea was an old soul who was sometimes confused. Was she in Manhattan? Ithaca? Somewhere within the Roman Empire? In the end, it didn’t matter. What mattered was seeing the great prophecies through and finding peace.
