Chapter Text
Phos knew it was coming. Oh, they knew it was coming, but their path was set in stone. The words didn’t come out easy: “First… there’s something I need to tell all of you.”
Phosphophyllite, the stone known for its low hardness and high stupidity, and Lapis Lazuli, the stone known for navigating the complicated while forgetting the obvious.
Alexandrite collapsed, a soul-chilling shatter on the moon’s bright sand. What a repulsive display of despair. Phos was the worst. They couldn’t muster an apology even as Yellow Diamond showed signs of slipping too. Don’t do it Yellow , Phos thought. You’re strong, Yellow. I thought you would be strong .
“-Phos,” Diamond choked out, unable to breathe, “You knew about this?” Heart racing, vision fading.
There Phos stood, unsympathetic. “I’ll… talk to Aechmea about putting everyone back together.”
“What do you mean?” Diamond trembled, “You haven't yet? THEN GO! GO YOU USELESS MORON? IS TORMENTING FUN? Why would you…”
Phos was already gone.
Shocked silence filled the air. “..Sorry,” Diamond mumbled. They were no better than Phos.
