Work Text:

Most people would disagree that knocking on your window was a good thing. Octavio had to disagree though, because for him it meant something special. The grin on the octarian’s face was evident as he approached the window, doing his best to hold in his excitement as he opened it. The man behind the quiet knock that Octavio had heard not so long ago was none other than Craig, the inkling huddled on the windowsill carefully… He wasnt very sneaky though, the sun may have been setting but the warm rays of light were definitely shining right onto Craig.

“Hello again, darling.”

Octavio greeted him sweetly, stepping aside so Craig could scuttle his way in through the window.

“Hello to you too, Tavi!”

Craig said through heavy breath while he crawled in, landing to the floor with a soft thud.

“Did you have a good day today? Or was the council… Well… being the council?”

Octavio chuckled softly at the others' questions, quietly sitting down on his soft bed.

“Oh you know how the council is… They never go easy on me.”

He sighed softly, watching as Craig sat down next to him on the bed… And immediately had his arms wrapped around him. The octoling blushed softly, melting into his arms.

“Its okay, Tav. Im here now and we are going to have a great time hanging out! … Quietly.”

Cuttlefish petted the other’s head, grinning brightly.

“I know we cant make any music right now but I brought stuff for poetry… Along with some poems ive written that you can read if… you want.. Ya know just in case”

Octavio perked up at that, smiling at the other.

“That sounds lovely, Craigie. I’d gladly read your awful poetry.”

He teased. Craig sputtered dramatically, giving Octavio a hurt look that was… very much played up.

“Oh! You wound me so, Tavi dear! My poetry is beautiful and you’re just jealous!”

The inkling whined, fanning himself. His behavior had Octavio giggling like a little school girl, covering his mouth as he tried to keep his laughter quiet. This earned him a big toothy grin from his goofy boyfriend.

“Craig… You’re so dramatic”

“I am and you love it!”
