Summary
Gender-flipped Strike, in which I imagine the Strike books as if they were put through a mirror-verse, or possibly, a blender. So basically, characters who are male in the books are female in the story. Also characters who might be very cold in the books, like Jonny Rokeby are warm and supportive in this story. Why? Because by and large most of the former punk rockers I know who became mums and dads are pretty awesome, (if unconventional), parents.
After losing her leg in a street brawl with fascists, Strike Cormorant is done speaking truth to power and eager to put the past behind her. With a financial loan from her mother, rock star Janet Rokeby, she opens her own detective agency. Unfortunately, it had to be on the tail end of the pandemic when the economy was still in tatters.
Enter Ellicott Robbins, office temp, recently arrived in London and fleeing his own demons.
