Work Text:
Ethari hummed happily as he walked with a skip towards the training fields where the assasins trained.
He had finished all orders and had been able to close the forge a little earlier so he could pick up and surprise his lovely husband and maybe take him on a date.
Just the thought of spending time with the other elf made him feel giddy, speeding up to get there faster.
After a few more more moments he finally reached the clearing where Runaan and his assasins trained.
He was greeted by the sight of Runaan sparring against Skor, both using of them using their weapons.
Seeing as they were both using their actual weapons others would probably be worried but Ethari wasn't, knowing they were capable enough to not seriously injure each other.
In fact, de decided to lean against a tree and watch.
Runaan's movement's were quick and smooth as he attacked and defended against the other elf.
Using the left sword to catch one of Skor's, with a flick of the wrist he tossed the other's arm aside and attacked himself from which Skor barely managed to leap out of the way.
Runaan didn't easy up however and swung again, not allowing Skor to regain his balance until he tripped and fell, the tip of Runaan's sword a hair's lenght from his nose.
"Okay, okay! I give up!" Skor cried as he held up his hands in surrender.
"Smart move." Runaan said before offering a hand to pull the other up.
Ethari shook chuckled and shook his head to himself at his love's confidence.
"Nice going, Skor. Even after having both Andromeda and Ram fight Runaan before you, you still can't beat him." Callisto teased Skor, grunting when Ram kicked him in the leg.
"Shut up before I make you!" he snapped, though he wasn't very threatening while lying down with his head on the female elf's lap.
"How about you fight him now if it's so easy?" Andromeda grunted and Ethari nearly laughed at the look of panic in Callisto's eyes.
"Callisto, come here. Since you seem so sure battling others first makes me an easy opponent you should be able to kick my ass without breaking a sweat, right?" Runaan ordered but his eyes held a playful twinkle.
Callisto looked like he wanted to protest but in the end he knew it was useless and went to stand in front of his leader.
In the end he ended up on the ground in seconds after a well placed leg-sweep from Runaan.
As the other three threw insults at the downed elf Runaan just smirked and swung his sword with a flashy flick of the wrist.
"I'm disappointed, Cal. I was hoping for a little more of a challenge." he teased, earning a glare.
"Yeah, yeah, I should have known better than to even think about coming closer to having a chance of beating the greatest assassin of all of Xadia!" Callisto dramatically gestured to all of Runaan.
"Not to mention the most handsome assassin of all of Xadia!" Ethari decided to make his presence known.
"Ethari!" Runaan right away rushed over to embrace his husband, giving him a quick kiss as greeting.
"What are you doing here, love?" he asked.
"Oh, just enjoying the view at the training field." Ethari answered, making a show of looking the other up and down, appreciating the way the rugged leather hugged Runaan's body and his skin shimmered with a thin layer of sweat.
"Are you now?" Runaan lifted an eyebrow, putting a hand on his hip.
"Oh, very much so." Ethari answered, voice growing low.
"Hmmm. Perhaps I should just go and sit in the forge sometime and enjoy the view as you work. All by the fire, using those strong arms to hammer away at antyhing to create into arts almost as beautiful you yourself." Runaan whispered back as he leaned forward, breath ghosting over Ethari's face.
"Oi! Save it for the bedroom!" Skor's voice suddenly pulled them them back to reality and turning back they found him and the other assasins huddled together and snickering.
Runaan awkwardly cleared his throat and went to take a step back, cheeks an adorable pink.
He was never really embarrassed of being affectionate with his husband but he had his limits.
Ethari however had other ideas and grabbed the other by the shoulders.
"What are you-?" Runaan went to ask before Ethari smirked, wiggled his eyesbrow and dipped him low to the ground to plant a passionate kiss on his mouth.
They could faintly hear the cheers and whistles of the others.
"Hmmm!" Runaan comically flailed around with his arms in surprise before Ethari janked him back up.
"Wha-?!" his face was now as red as the ripest moonberry one could find as he looked at the smith with wide eyes.
Ethari just grinned before back and leaned over his shoulder.
"Thanks for the suggestion, Skor! We'll be doing just that!" he yelled at the group, earning more whistles and laughter.
With that he grabbed Runaan and easily swung him over his shoulder.
"ETHARI! PUT ME DOWN AT ONCE!" Runaan bellowed as he struggled to free himself.
"No way! First I'm taking you somewhere were we can savely continue our little conversation~" Ethari giggled before running home with his husband on his shoulder, leaving a groups a wheezing assassins behind.
