Work Text:
Taehyung and Seokjin were the only ones currently in their dorm. Ever since they all started living separately, the seven of them only come to their dorm when they have a schedule the next day.
But today, it seemed like it was just the two of them—Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin.
In this house.
The air was charged with something. What exactly that something was, Seokjin didn’t know and did not want to find out. But it wasn’t new. It was always like this, when it’s just the two of them together.
Stolen glances.
Shy blushes.
And the electric feeling in the air.
Today wasn’t any different.
They had been silent for too long, now that Seokjin thinks about it. He shyly raises his gaze, and finds Taehyung’s eyes already fixed on him. Something hot and heavy settles in his stomach, liquifying his insides.
“What?” He asks, because it’s better than the silence they are stewing in.
Taehyung shrugs.
After a few minutes, though, he speaks up. “Does it make you uncomfortable, hyung?”
“What?” Seokjin asks, clueless. “What are you talking about?”
“Does it bother you when I stare at you, hyung?” Taehyung says, direct and to the point.
“No.” Seokjin immediately blurts. “Of course not.”
“Then why are you fidgeting so much?”
Seokjin wants to run away from this conversation. As much as he wants to tell Taehyung about his feelings, he also feels an equal aversion to baring his soul like that.
“I just,” he begins and then pauses, licking his dry lips. Taehyung’s eyes zoom in on the motion and stay fixed there. On his lips. “Yeah, you do make me nervous sometimes, tae-ah.”
Taehyung’s shoulders drop at his admission, and Seokjin wants to instantly backtrack. Or at least explain it better.
“I mean, that’s not what I meant.” He babbles. “It’s just you make me feel too much.”
“Too much how, hyung?”
And god, Taehyung’s voice is so deep. Seokjin immediately blushes when he wonders what he would sound like in a different scenario, one with a lot less clothes.
“Tell me, hyung.” Taehyung’s voice washes over him, like a wave of pleasure. “What are you thinking about that’s making you blush so much?”
“You.”
Seokjin immediately throws his hand over his mouth, best not to take any chances. He doesn’t know what outrageous thing he might end up saying next.
“Good, that’s good.” Taehyung breathes out heavily. “Because I think about you all the damn time, too, hyung.”
Seokjin laughs at that, breathless in a way that makes him feel like he’s floating in air. Happiness, that’s what this feels like.
“Yeah?” Seokjin asks, tucking his hair behind his ear, feeling shy and confident at the same time.
“Yeah.” Taehyung answers, the same hopeful feeling reflected in his eyes.
No words are said, but they both know. Everything’s going to turn out just fine.
