Summary
They were in the forest surrounding the town again. Deep amongst the tall cedar trees in a small clearing. He could feel the hair on the back of his neck and arms standing on end. The chill in the air was oppressive, threatening to freeze the air in his lungs. He wasn’t sure why he had followed the creature into the woods alone. Something about the abomination drew him in, beckoning him with saccharine promises, closer, closer still. He was alone in the clearing, yet at the same time not. He could hear the snap of twigs under it’s feet, the rustle of the undergrowth as it moved. He could tell it was still human for the time being.
