Notes:

Work Text:

I went to the hospital to see Kakyoin again. I wanted to know if he was able to recover from the wound that bastard, Dio, gave him. It’s been almost two weeks since the incident, and he’s still in critical condition.

Almost every day, I go to the hospital and spend time with him for the entire time, assuring him that it’s going to be okay, and once he’s all healed up, I will marry him right there at that moment. Honestly, I’m scared. I pray to whatever god or goddess there is and ask them to please make him get through this. I know he will. He will get through this.

For some reason, as I was about to enter the hospital through the doors, my heart began to ache. I felt like I was about to get a heart attack; it was beating so fast, and my stomach felt as if hundreds of tridents were stirring my guts until it all melted. Something told me something bad happened. My guardian angel? Is it true what you’re saying? There’s no way anything happened to Kakyoin. He got through this. Stop messing with my emotions.

Please.

I walked inside and told the receptionist I was going to visit Kakyoin’s room, and she nodded and allowed me to go through. I’m so worried, I just love him too much. I don’t want to lose anyone again. He made me find joy in my life, and I must thank him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I can’t let that opportunity fade away. I wish I could tell him all of this, but damn, my emotions...they go all weak. That’s the effect he has had on me. He weakens me, he softens me. Nobody has had that effect on me.

Only him.

And goddamn it, I love that the most from him.

Once I arrive at his room, I take one last deep breath and unlock the doorknob. I press my lips against each other and take a step inside, peeking my head into the room.

I frown as I don’t see Kakyoin on the bed like I usually do, but instead I see a couple of doctors surrounding the bed with a small box in their hands. Their eyes enlarged as they saw me, but their faces dropped as I stepped inside the room.

What’s happening? Where’s Kakyoin?

I cross my brows and ask the doctors, "Where’s Kakyoin?"

With a sad and disappointed tone, they all glared at me as the doctor, who was holding a red box, walked up to me and handed it to me.

"I’m afraid to say that Kakyoin Noriaki died yesterday—these are his ashes."

A note was on the top and it said:

Make sure to give my ashes to the man with the black cap with this note on top of the box. Jotaro, if you're reading this, it means I have died. Don't weep over my death, that's not you. Please, go and live your life happily. Don't let my death change your life or mood. If you truly want to make me happy, then do what I just stated; don't be sad because of me. I wouldn't like to see a miserable Jotaro while I'm up here. Anyway, just remember, I will always love you.

And I'll be waiting for you.
