Work Text:
Cecil leaned back in his chair, staring up at the figure standing on his desk with utmost concern. He had only zoned out for a few minutes, but apparently that was just enough time for Kasper Rhodes, president of the Quality Cyborg Corporation, to break into Cecil’s office and climb onto his desk. For a minute, Cecil zoned out once again, wondering how Kasper managed to make it past Station Management, before turning his attention back to the half-mink interloper. He wheeled his chair back slightly as Kasper stared down at him smugly.
“Hey there, Cecil!” Kasper said whilst twirling his cape around one of his claws, his voice a mix between cheerful and smug. Cecil huffed irritably.
“What do you want from us?” Cecil replied, his voice raised. As soon as the words left Cecil’s mouth, Kasper’s expression dropped.
“Honestly, Cecil. I’m disappointed.” Kasper responded, closing his eyes and shaking his head, whilst still smiling. “First you don’t answer my calls, then you ignore my broadcasts?” He leaned forward, his antennae waving in Cecil’s direction, almost as if to survey him. “That’s a bit rude of you, don’t you think?”
Cecil glared up at Kasper. “ No. ” He said sharply, noticing the half mink’s ears flinch back as he spoke. “No, no I don’t think. You came into OUR town and tricked us into giving up OUR brains, and for what?” Cecil hissed. Kasper only smiled, his smugness returning.
“Oh Cecil… I was only trying to save you!” Kasper’s smile widened, to the point where it was mildly unsettling to look at. “It’s all I want, to save you from your lives of pointlessness, to provide you with purpose, to teach you about the wonders of The Smiling God!” Cecil flinched at the mention of The Smiling God, as Kasper straightened himself, then outstretched his arms as if to indicate something grand.
Cecil was now filled with rage. Rage at this… interloper who dared not only to come into his town, but also dared to act as if he were some kind of savior after enslaving the entire town. He stood up. Kasper didn’t seem to notice, or he just didn’t care enough, as he seemed to be far too engrossed in what he was saying to do anything.
“I was only providing you all with what you wanted, eternal life . You will all live forever! Albeit, under my terms, of course.” Kasper lowered his voice for a brief moment, before continuing on. “Wasn’t that what you wanted, Cecil? Didn’t you want to live forever? With your husband? What was his name again…. Ah, yes! Carlo-” Kasper was cut off by a swift punch to the face, knocking him over. He crashed through the desk, the force of his partially metal body falling onto it causing it to break, bringing them both to the ground.
Cecil stepped back in shock as his desk broke. He mourned the loss of his desk only for a brief moment, his look of sadness quickly being replaced by one of pure rage. He made his way over to Kasper, who was sitting up on the floor, rubbing the cheek that Cecil punched, whilst letting out a continuous groan. Cecil loomed above Kasper, glaring in a way that Kasper felt as if his very soul was being pierced.
“DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK ABOUT MY DARLING PUPPYCAKE HONEYBUN!!” Cecil shouted, causing Kasper to flinch, both due to the volume and second hand embarrassment. Cecil then pointed towards his office door, face still full of rage. “Get. Out. Now.” He began waving the arm that was pointed at the door. Kasper, however, only stared. Cecil’s tail twitched at his response (or, lack of one). “GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE!” Cecil screamed, causing Kasper to scramble to his feet.

Kasper was no longer smiling, nor had he been for the past few minutes since he fell through that desk. In fact, his expression looked more like one of both fear and rage. His arms and back were killing him, wood lodged in various places. Eventually, Kasper managed to stand up, and hobbled over to the window. His legs were perfectly fine, being as they were made of metal, but his head was spinning, messing up his balance. He stared out the window, before turning back to Cecil and snarling. A moment later, he turned back towards the window and jumped through it with a loud CRASH .

Cecil took a moment to process what just happened. Kasper Rhodes, president of the Quality Cyborg Corporation, had just jumped out of his window (which, was actually relatively normal on the scale of strange things that had happened to Cecil). After another brief moment, He walked over towards his broken window, to make sure Kasper was dead. When he looked out, he was rather disappointed to see the half mink glaring up at him. Kasper hissed (which was barely audible from Cecil’s window) before running off on all fours towards the sand wastes, avoiding the chaos of the war he had caused as he fled. Cecil sighed heavily. Well, at least that was over, for now, it seemed.

A few minutes passed since everything had gone down. The robots had shut down, the weather was still being broadcasted, and Cecil was still gathering his bearings, when he noticed his cell phone ringing. At first he didn’t look, worried it was Kasper again, but eventually curiosity got the best of him. He picked up his cell, only to see the person calling him was none other than his husband, Carlos. Almost immediately after seeing that, he answered the call.
“Hello, kittycake?” Cecil asked into his phone.
“Hi, hon!” Carlos replied cheerfully. “I’m just calling to check up on you and make sure you’re alright. I heard everything! Well, not everything but I did hear the part where, hm… Kasper Rhodes said he was on his way to your office, well, he didn’t exactly say that, though I couldn’t help myself but to worry. so now I’m calling in to check in on you! So, is everything alright, sweetie?” Carlos streamed on, not stopping to breathe until he was finished talking.
Cecil paused for a moment. Truth be told, everything was not alright. His beloved desk was in shambles, his window too, though he cared significantly more for his desk. He bent down and grabbed a piece from his desk, staring at it sadly. Upon studying the piece, he suddenly remembered how Kasper was possibly still out there. The robots may be shut down and empty now, but that could mean anything.
After a moment, Cecil snapped himself back to reality.
“Everything’s alright, honeybun!” Cecil feigned, speaking in a rather cheerful tone. He really didn’t want Carlos to worry. “I’ll be home soon. I love you!”
“I love you too, darling.” Carlos responded, before Cecil hung up. He smiled. At least, despite everything, Carlos was alright. And with that, the weather was finally finished.
