“Okay.” He agrees softly. “So you’re a bad person. Now what?”
Rose squints. “What?”
“You’re a bad person. You feel bad about it, but there really ain’t a way to change it because the thing that makes you bad is just part of you. So, now what? What are you gonna do about it?” He asks simply.
Rose takes a deep breath. “I don’t know. What do most people do?”
“They kill themselves.” He muses. “Which isn’t really an option for you, considering Jed. Others drink or smoke or snort— again, not really an option. Others fuck, which might do you a bit better. Wouldn’t be hard, you’re pretty.”
“Is that what you do?”
He grins at that, but only a little. “I don’t feel bad about being bad. I don’t really see the value in guilt. Especially guilt about things that are just our nature. You could always lean in, you know? If you’re going to be bad, you may as well do what you want.”Series
