Chapter Text
Izuku did know how the day could have been any worse… First, he came too late because of a villain fight and would have detention for the rest of the week.
Then the teacher had to announce that he was trying to get into UA… he had not even applied for the Hero course as he knew his weak body wouldn't allow him to pass the practical exam but it is hard to build muscle with no support and with no way of eating lunch. He wanted to try to get into the General Education branch as he knew his chances of getting a job without a quirk.
The ridiculing had been mostly normal for the day and the comments did sting anymore. But at the end of the day, after he had finally cleaned the classroom enough to not get more detention the next morning, Bakugou came up to him and began to insult him, 'that he was the only one to go to UA' and 'a quirkless freak will never be accepted there.' Honesty, the insults were always the same, and he would just make a hurt face to not inclined him into attacking him physically.
So when his childhood ex-friend told him to 'take a swan dive off the roof and hope for a quirk in your next life.’ It stung. It stung and Izuku wasn't exactly sure why, he had given up on them being friends a long time ago but he kept on calling him 'Kacchan' as it would make him mad if he didn't. And Izuku had already enough on his plate as is without a dangerously mad Bakugou on his heels.
So, the walk away from school, towards the freedom that was his home, began uneventfully. He kept away from busy streets even if it would take longer as he didn't want to be alone with his suffering for a while and not constantly reminded of how much less he is because of his lack of quirk by all the heroes around.
So to his surprise, a villain ambushed him by an under passage. It was made out of sludge and sewage and quickly tried to force its way into his mouth. As he was beginning to suffocate, his Idol the number 1 hero, All Might, saved him. With his only chance of ever meeting the Legend himself so close he grabbed onto his leg as he jumped away. Catching the Villain that he bottled as it fell out of his pocket.
He should have taken the clue of how the rest of the day had been going.
So after landing on a rooftop and apologizing vigorously to the man followed by giving him the Villain. Izuku used this chance to ask his question, "Can a quirkless person become a hero like you?" He saw his smile fading before suddenly losing steam and becoming extremely skinny.
"I am sorry but you need to be realistic." the man began. He then pulled his shirt up to reveal a nasty-looking scare. "I gained this 5 years ago and it has been slowly killing me ever since. I can only hold my hero dorm for about 5 hours per day. I don't want you to experience the same fate as me so I ask you to be realistic. Firefighters, policemen, doctors. Those are all important jobs that help people daily." With that, the man stood up and began to walk for the roof entrance of the house and was gone.
Izuku dissolved into a coughing fit, spilling disgusting slime and sludge all over the roof. After it calms down enough he pulls out the notebook he had to fish from the water and had burn marks all over it. He opened it and quickly found the autograph All Might had given him. It was already running and only barely to make out All Might's autograph. The only silver lining of the day was ruined by Bakugou.
He pulled out another notebook of his, not much better with burn marks all over it. This one was normally reserved for mathematics but he didn't care at the moment. So he took out his one good pen and began to write.
'Hello Mom, you will probably be the only one who cares, maybe aunt Mitsuki and uncle Masaru, but by the time you read this, I will be gone.
I know you always try your best for me but I can't go one. It is the weak way out but that is what I am, weak. I am the weak, useless, quirkless Deku. One voice against every other isn't enough.
I love you mom more than you probably ever know. You allowed me to keep going for so long but I know the statistics, I know you know too, and I was told to be realistic by All Might.
And so I will be realistic. He told me to become a firefighter, a police officer, or a doctor but I know I never will become any of that. I know that except for UA, I won't even have a chance of getting into a serious high school where I won't be murdered. The least said about getting a job, the better.
I had the best mom in the world and I hope that we will see each other again, but hopefully not too soon. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your life without me around.
I love you!
-Izuku'
With that, he closed the book and placed it on top of everything else inside the bag. He leans it on the railing before looking around. The twilight had already begun. His mom will surely be wondering when he finally comes home… so he decides to make one last call… only to find that his cheap phone for school had been drenched in sludge and wasn't working anymore.
'Sorry Mom, I really wanted to call you one last time but it seems like it wasn't allowed.' He wrote in between his last paragraph and his final goodbye to her.
With that, he stood up and turned around to face the City. The twilight was shining and the first few neon signs were beginning to glow. With a sigh, he climbed over the fence at the edge before closing his eyes and simply let himself fall.
The building wasn't that high but still high enough to kill him as he impacted the ground with a sickening crunch inside an alleyway. Hitting the ground just right to splatter a large amount of his blood throughout the alley, coloring it a deep red.

Midoriya Inko wasn't surprised when she heard her son was dead, this didn’t mean that she wasn’t sad but she wasn’t surprised. Call it a mother's intuition or whatever you want but the day went too well for her. First, a slight raise combined with more leave, and to top it all off, a Villain attacked her hospital with only minimal injuries and no dead.
It was a cosmetic sign, but that didn't mean that she didn't or wouldn't cry for him. She had lost him, her brave boy that took years of abuse onto his own shoulders to not burden her any further. "My l-little Izu was a Saint." She said to herself as she read his final entry in the notebook again. "He only wanted to help even when nobody was helping him. And nobody wanted it."
