Work Text:
When Mikey offers to watch a movie, it's half because he doesn't want the night to end and half because it's an excuse to cuddle with his boyfriend. After tonight, the things Mondo said and the yearning way that he had looked at Splinter, Mikey kind of wants to hug him and never let go.
But he'll settle for a couple hours of holding him, at least.
Tonight has been everything that Mikey ever dreamed of. His Dad likes Mondo, no adjustment period necessary. His siblings - well, he's not clear on if they like Mondo or not, but they get along with him. And Mikey definitely hadn't missed the protective look on Raph's face earlier.
Mikey wants to tell Mondo he loves him, but he thinks about the past night and wonders if Mondo's ready to hear it. So instead he settles for wrapping his arms around him, a sappy part of him hoping Mondo can just tell what he wants to say.
There'll be plenty of time for him to say I love you. Time for him to hold Mondo, and invite him over for more family dinners and all of the things that Mikey wants so badly.
Mikey registers when his eyelids get heavy, when he starts nodding off. He should probably tell Mondo he's falling asleep, should end this, but... he doesn't want Mondo to go. He wants his boyfriend to have a bit longer where he's surrounded by people who care about him, who respect him. Where he doesn't have to worry about arguments.
Mikey hangs on a little tighter, and lets his eyes drift shut.
The last thing he thinks before he goes to sleep is soft, sweet - I wish we could do this every night.
