    Obi-Wan’s head is hanging low so that his hair covers his eyes. He shakes it from side to side, his hands clutched so tightly into his battered robes that they look like they will tear. “No… no I— I don’t—”

    “If you’re not with me,” Anakin says, voice carrying like a final blow. “Then you’re my enemy.”

    He stalks forward, gait predatory as he crowds close to his former master. He reaches forward with two of his mechanical fingers and tilts Obi-Wan’s face up, “So, Obi-Wan. What is it?”

    Anakin falls. Obi-wan breaks. Padmé is left to pick up the pieces.

    Or the one where Obi-Wan is too broken to fight Anakin on Mustafar and is absorbed into the Empire along with Padmé.
