Work Text:
“Stop doing that,” Noelle sighed angrily as she reached over and grabbed Akarsha’s arm, slamming it quietly against the table. “You’re distracting me.”
Akarsha, who had been playing around by attempting to copy ninjitsu seals (from Naruto), groaned. “But we’ve been studying ever since school ended!” She complained a bit too loudly, earning a couple glances from the other areas.
Noelle shot her a look, reminding Akarsha to lower her voice. “But we’ve been studying ever since school ended.” She complained, more quietly this time.
“That’s because you’ve somehow managed to survive in this school by cheating your way, and I’m simply trying to get you to stop.” Noelle explained as she turned her attention back towards the book laid open in front of her. “It’s an unhealthy habit that’ll negatively impact your future.”
“Aaawww, you care about little ol’ me?” Akarsha teased, scooting her seat closer towards Noelle. The Taiwanese girl simply huffed with annoyance, although a pink tint made its way onto her cheeks. “I just simply want to see how you are without constantly peering over students’ shoulders to copy their answers.”
Akarsha smiled. “Liar,”
Noelle turned her head, “What?? I’m not a liar—“ Her complaint caught in her throat upon noticing Akarsha was now extremely closer towards her than before. The atmosphere around them got thicker as they gazed into each other’s eyes, Noelle being the first to look away.
Swallowing the spit that had begun to form in her mouth, Noelle opened her mouth again. “Just— stop fooling around and actually focus.”
“Fine, fine,” Akarsha huffed, scooting her chair back to where it was.
