Work Text:

This was a terrible idea. This is the kind of the situation Ianto had never wanted to be. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath at the same time he put his finger over the trigger of his gun. He was ready to react any moment. He felt his blood froze in his veins when he heard the sound of someone stepping over grass near to him.

He knew that whoever who was there couldn’t see him as he was hidden behind a wall of bricks but, in the moment that he tried to move, he would give away he position. Yet, if he didn’t move, he would be equally condemned, the person was moving toward him. He tensed his muscles and prepared himself…The sound of a click and a shot alerted the welsh of an attack but he wasn’t the target.

“Holy shit” Nile groaned angrily. That revealed that his hunter had been the american but, now, she was out of the game. “Who was it?” She demanded to know when Ianto saw the one who had shot the younger immortal at his right.

Qyuhn moved gracefully between the trees and brushes, she knew how to walk quietly and camouflage with nature. Ianto wouldn’t have seen her if he hadn’t been looking for her. He didn’t lost time and shot. The large white mark of pain in her chest let him know he had hit the mark. She was out too.

The man started to run, looking for another place to hide. The arena that they had rented was big enough to contain different scenarios where they could hide and hunt the others. Who will imagine a group of six immortals playing paintball?

It had been Nile’s idea. The woman thought that it was a good idea to work out tension and have a little fun without risking Andy. The Doctor had ensured them that her immortality had been restored by whatever give it to them but they didn’t want to test it. Although, she couldn’t predict that four ancient warriors with guns, even with paint balls’ ones, were dangerous; specially, when they decided that be overcompetitive and kick asses was amusing.

Previously, they had had five matches in which they destroyed Nile and Ianto and dedicated the rest of the time to hunt each other. Two were won by Andy, two by Nicky and one by Joe. Qyuhn hadn’t won any but Ianto supposed that the reason behind it was that she hadn’t had enough time to get use to guns so, she was disadvantage, at least, for the moment.

Ianto was surprised that he had the chance to hit Qyuhn at all or survived that long…And then he heard two rifts and felt a hit on his back. One of that sons of a bitch dared to shot me in the back! He though at the same time he groaned in pain. At that moment, he heard the furious voice of Andy near to him.

“Damn it!” She cursed. “Screw you, Nicky!” Andy yelled. Ianto looked around and found the woman with her face painted with blue paint.

“It’s okay.” He told to the older woman. “You can get your revenge in the next one.” He added and she let out a dry laugh.

“We won’t have a next match.” she said and Ianto looked at her confused. He was sure they reserved this place all day long. “There was a reason why I didn’t let Nicky or Joe to be the last one standing.” She smirked. “They forgot about us as soon as it was the two of them and, probably, start to make out like animals as soon as they found each other.” Ianto just rounded his eyes. “Come on, kid, we can always have a snack with the girls.” she said and offered him her hand to take and he did it without doubt.

They were not wrong. The two lovers didn’t care about the others. Instead, they only had in mind the other and the excitation of the hunt. There was not ill intention between them and they would never harm the other, not again. But neither of them would waste the chance of messing around.

They knew the other better than anyone and they could guess the other’s position and movements before they did it. So, more that trying to find the other, the game had become who shoot first. The victor would be the one to be in charge of their love activities.

Nicky’s eyes were over his beloved that advanced towards his position; the top of a water tower. His lips were curved up in a cheeky smirk as he devoured his husband’s figure with the sight. Joe was sweaty after six matches; his curls were wet and gave him a wild appearance that only remarked his fierce aura. He looked like a demigod or an angel of war.

The older man was smarted enough to move slowly, covering his position with the elements around him to not be in the centre of the Nicky’s aim. When he was a less than ten meters, he looked up and smiled. Joe had finally localized him. One, two, three…Bang!

Joe felt at the ground, the dramatic little shit, when he was hit. Nicky had to supress his laugh as the other acted an exaggerated death. He got down of the tower and walked toward him.

“Am I in heaven?” He asked when he was standing over him.

“I don’t think so, amore” Nicky answered and he extended his hand to him. “I can only think in nasty things when I see you”.

“Good” Joe responded as he pulled him down and Nicky let him do it. He ended resting over his chest. “Because I want you to do me so bad”. He said before they kissed deeply.
