Werewolves. Claudia would have known what to do. She would have handled this better than he was. After she had died he had turned to the bottle. Drowning his sorrows in whiskey. Stiles had to grow up at only seven years old. He never said a word when John would throw a bottle at his head. When he’d scream at him that he had killed his mother. When he’d pin him down and lash him with a belt till his back was bloody.
Stiles never said anything. He just continued to hope that his father would come back. He learned to clean his wound, to cook, to clean, he learned to stay out of sight when his father would reach for the bottle.
By the time werewolves came around their relationship was already ruined. But werewolves made the damage irreversible.
