Morgan is dying; a villain has poisoned him; he's pretty sure it's Rex, but he has no proof.
He can't go out and be a hero while he's on death's bed; his parents strongly suggest he try to sleep it off while they handle things.
He listened to them and does so.
He tosses and turns all night; there's a quiet presence beside him, murmuring words of comfort. Setting damp cloths to his forehead.
When Morgan wakes, he finds Alex holding him down.
"Did you poison me?" he asks, confused.
Alex scoffs. "If I wanted you dead, I'd do it cleaner," then with a look in his direction. "And faster,"
There isn't any hostility in their words; Morgan is humiliated when he glances down at the bed to find the sheets near him are rumpled. Alex had been the one sleeping beside him, watching over him through the night.
