Notes:

Day 1: Rainy Day
Pairing: Patcap

Work Text:

It was the beginning of a rainy October. Captain stood by the window, watching the rain. He couldn’t go for his morning run due to the weather so he thought about what he would do with the rest of his day. The TV was an option but he didn’t know where Alison was and he also didn’t want to bother Julian. So he decided he would just wonder the house until he got bored or found Alison. Just as he turned around, leaving his pondering daze, he walked into Pat.

“Oh! I’m so sorry,” Pat says, trying to speak as quick as he can. Pat was a nice person, the nicest ghost around the house if Captain was being completely honest.

“Ah, Patrick. I didn’t expect to see you around,” Captain says, thinking Pat would be off watching something or telling the group about the activities he and his Scouts used to do when it rained. “I’ll be off then.”

“Cap wait,” Pat says before Captain can get too far. “I was just thinking. Do you maybe want to watch a show or something? You know, since it’s raining and all.”

Captain stood there for a second, not expecting Pat to ask him something like that. He didn’t know what to say and didn’t know why he felt butterflies in his stomach, “Sure, Patrick, thanks for the offer.”

Captain kicked himself, not know why he agreed to it. But then again what was he going to do, listen to the other ghosts bicker over something? As they were walking to the TV room Captain caught Pat smiling. He’ll never admit that maybe that made him smile a bit.

After they got Alison to turn the TV on (with only the smallest bit of asking because of how good of a mood she was in due to it being a rainy day), Pat and Captain got comfortable on the sofa in their usual positions. It was nice, to have a quiet day in and not be disturbed by the usual chaos of the other members of the house. Maybe it was so nice that he hadn’t notice he and Pat had started holding hands.
