“What’s up my Shooting Stars, it’s me Padfoot!” announces the long haired boy. He is sat on a massive beanbag in the corner of his bedroom. “Now anyone who saw my beloved Moony’s latest video will know that a certain git by the name of James Fleamont Potter insulted me in the worst way possible!” He wipes away an imaginary tear “So in today’s video I will have my revenge! Peter has agreed to help me by keeping James busy and out of the house while I set up. It is currently…” Sirius picks his phone out of his front pocket and checks the time “…10 in the morning and James is still asleep so I’m gonna have to wait a bit beforehand. However this does give me the perfect opportunity to tell you guys exactly what this plan entails.”
Sirius holds up his index finger before quickly leaving the frame. He sits back down just as soon as he left, except now he has a carrier bag in hand.
“Ok so I went to Hobbycraft yesterday and brought god knows how many packets of googly eyes.” The eldest marauder reaches into the bag and pulls out some of the packets “I brought all different sizes and I am going to stick them on everything in James’ room. His bed frame, his laptop, his light switch, anything I can find will have a pair of eyes by the time I’m done.” He says, checking off on his fingers as he goes.
A faint noise can be heard through the wall next to him. He stands up and hides the carrier bag again. He doesn’t sit down when he comes back this time but instead leans down with his hands on his knees. “I think I just heard James waking up so I’m gonna stop filming for now. I guess I’ll see you guys in a bit when he’s gone”
The screen cuts to black and the following conversation can be heard, clearly recorded on Sirius’ phone. Colour coded text is shown on screen to accompany it.
(Yellow) Peter: We’ll be back soon. Sure you don’t wanna come with?
(Purple) Sirius: Nah, I might have a nap or facetime Moony.
(Blue) James: He has gone to Wales for 3 days!
Sirius: I miss my boyfriend…sue me
James: Ok. I, James Fleamont Potter would like to take Sirius Orion Black III to court. I would like to sue him for £5k and the big beanbag in his room.
Sirius: Fuck off! That’s my beanbag!
James: *laughs* Ok, well have fun chatting with Remus, tell him we all miss him and can't wait until he comes home. Come on Wormy.
The sound of the door shutting is heard and the video cuts to Sirius stood in the hallway outside of James’ closed bedroom door. “It is time…” he whispers dramatically.
He opens the door, walks in and proceeds to dump all the packets of googly eyes onto James’ bed. The video fast forwards through him sorting the packets into 3 sizes. The video then slows down to normal speed when he turns to the camera
“Let us begin!” Sirius cries as he lets out a stereotypical evil laugh, arms out at his side with the palms facing upwards
The video once again speeds up as he begins on the left-hand side of the room. He can be seen adding eyes to the bed frame, James’ pillow, and his duvet. He moves on to the nightstand next to the bed. All 3 drawers get a new pair of eyes, decreasing in size with each drawer. He then adds them to the lamp on top of the bedside table. Even the cup from James’ morning tea has a pair of small googly eyes. The video slows back down.
“I have just realised this is gonna take a while. It’s a shame Moons had to go back to Wales this weekend because I could really use the help…” He pauses and scratches his head. Sirius’ face lights up and he clicks in triumph “I know, I’ll call Marley! She’ll help”
Sirius gets his phone out of his pocket, opens it and clicks on his contacts. He then presses Marlene’s number. He puts the phone on speaker so the audience can hear both sides of the call.
“Sup.” Comes the familiar voice
“Hey Marley! I don’t know if you watched Remus’ last video but if you did you would know James betrayed me so I’m currently getting my revenge. What I didn’t factor in was how long it would take me to do what I need to do. So I was wondering if you wanted to come over and help. I need another set of hands”
“Heck yeah! I’m on my way!” Marlene exclaims
“Cool, see ya in a bit then”
He hangs up and puts his phone back in his pocket. He gives the camera a thumbs up before he goes back to setting up. The video cuts to Sirius holding the camera as he walks down the stairs. We enter a POV shot as he opens the door.
“Marley!”
“Hey Sirius” She notices the camera in his hands and looks down the lens “Hey Stars!” She turns again to the boy in front of her “So what are we doing?”
“You’ll see” Sirius beckons her to follow him as he leads her up the stairs to James’ room. He turns the camera around to show her reaction to what he’s already done
“Holy hell!” she laughs “I am so down to do this!”
“The packets are on the bed, just go ham. Whack a pair of eyes on anything you see”
The video speeds up again as a montage plays. Sirius is working on the left-hand side of the room and Marlene on the right. The montage slowly fades to black. It cuts to Sirius holding the camera on him and Marlene
“We’re finally done and the entire room is now staring at us” His eyes roam the room behind the camera “It took us just under 2 hours, I think?” He looks back at Marlene for confirmation
She nods “Pretty sure. It felt way longer though!”
“You people ready to see the final product…” He slowly pans the camera around the room whilst humming a dramatic tune “Ta da!”
Every surface in James’ room now has a pair of eyes. In some cases some objects have 1 or 3, depending on how big or small they are.
“My favourite thing in here has definitely got to be Prongs’ houseplant” Sirius zooms in on a little succulent on James’ desk. It’s sat in a light blue pot which now has 3 small eyes on it “Look at it! It’s so cute!” The long haired boy squeals in a high pitched voice which causes Marlene to giggle in the background “I’m gonna let Pete know that they can head home now and to let me know when they’re 5 minutes away so I can come and set up the camera in here so we can get James’ reaction.”
“While we wait we’re probably just gonna play video games or something.” The blonde girl adds. “You guys have Smash Bros. right?”
“Yep”
“Cool. You’re going down Black!”
“Oh am I? We’ll see about that!” Sirius laughs
The video jumps to a black screen once again as the front door can be heard opening. Just like before the words spoken are also written as colour coded text.
James: We’re back
Sirius: In here
Peter: Hey Marls
(Red) Marlene: Sup
James: Who’s winning?
Marlene: Me…obviously
James: Tough luck Pads. Anyway, I’m off to get my pjs back on
Sirius picks his phone up and faces it towards himself “Quick let’s go”
The 3 people left in the living room all sneak up the stairs behind James. The video feed changes to the camera hidden in James’ room that Sirius set up moments before. The door opens and James takes one step and then freezes, a look of confusion crossing his face.
“What the fuck?” he blurts out. Sirius, Peter and Marlene start to laugh causing James to turn around to face them “What? Sirius?”
“Yes Jamie?”
“Why?”
“Revenge bitch! Next time you insult my hair you better think about the consequences!”
They all walk into James’ room and Sirius retrieves the camera from the bookcase. Marlene leans back against the door frame, Peter sits on James’ desk chair and the two black haired boys stand in the center of the room.
Peter just looks around the room and laughs “This looks better than I had imagined”
“How many eyes are there?” James inquires
Marlene shrugs before shaking her head “I have no clue…we lost count”
“I wanna say… a lot” Sirius adds helpfully
The bespectacled boy just laughs. He then notices the plant pot “Aww”
“I know! It’s adorable!”
James pauses for a second before announcing “I’m gonna name him Steve”
“Well alrighty then” Marlene chuckles
Sirius turns the camera round so all 4 of them are in frame “So that went better than expected. Thanks to Marley and Pete for helping me pull this off. This is Sirius, Marlene, Peter, James and Steve signing off. SHINE BRIGHT!” he salutes to his audience and the video ends.
