Work Text:
It was nearing a certain time again.. Halloween! Now this would be the first Halloween with Las Nevadas new guard dog and well, let’s just say Las Nevadas would get a lot more marketing during holidays. With this new people would come, now this was good for their stocks and image. Until you realise the guard dog’s a human.
This would most definitely come with problems as of course not everyone agreed on this decision. To be fair no one else but Quackity and Sam agreed, it just kind of happened. This gave it some complications. This was nothing that Las Nevadas couldn’t deal with right? Of course not, they had a plan in action if anyone was to try to bring them. Well then again everyone in the server had a plan to keep Dream in prison forever and keep him locked up and that didn’t go very well.
Well at least when someone has a true hatred for someone’s actions things can get extreme, that can be said in many cases. Some might say it is relevant in this case, for obvious reasons. Really not hard to tell why. Yeah.. you can probably tell why.
Any mind that it was Halloween and well of course it had to be a show, a grand show to be told among generations. As it would be marking the Halloween show put on in Las Nevadas, a grand occasion, well if one would count a 50% discount as an occasion, because nowadays everything is about money. Well to be more exact everything for Quackity was about money, you need to earn a profit for everything you do in life.
Truly a grand occasion according to a man who built a town fully of not his own profit and fowl play, truly inspiring some would say. This idea was a sure way to ruin everything by hosting an event after you just hired the one person who wasn't supposed to be gone from their cage.
This obviously didn't matter for Quackity because as long as he earned a profit it was all okay for him, as long as they (he) enjoyed the moment it was fine.
Everything was fine as long as he enjoyed the moment, nothing bad would every happen. Not possible, not in Quackity's mind would anything wrong or bad ever happen to him, nor is he doing anything bad according to him.
-------
"Quackity" was in the middle of putting the decorations up, by Quackity I mean, Dream was putting the decorations up and Quackity was verifying if it was a good place to put it or not, constantly yelling at Dream when it was the wrong place, and doing a simple nod when it was right.
To make it a short story it was a "pleasant" experience.. for Quackity. Yeah might not be as pleasant for the person getting yelled at. Then again nobody really knows what Dream could've been thinking or if he was even thinking anything
But sadly as things go, Dream listened to anything and everything Quackity said, so as Quackity nodded he kept putting the cobwebs up.
Truly to say it would be one of the best ways to put cobwebs, but that's probably because of all the times Quackity yelled at Dream for no reason but it was slightly more off then how he wanted it to be, which was not really fair but whatever.
Quackity made the rules.
Honestly everything looked pretty good, so as Dream followed Quackity's side, looking with no emotions but still seeming to have a hint of sadness in his look, like he knows exactly whats going on and is scared. But sadly he can't say anything about it, as for he is just a simple guard dog now, no longer a man to be feared and afraid of. He can no longer even remember he was ever that person.
For a matter of fact he can't even remember that he ever was once even ever a human. Guess that's life for you, sometimes you end up forgetting things you were always supposed to know and never forget.
Now that everything was done, Quackity had one more thing he needed to do, THE INVITATIONS!! Now sadly Dream couldn't do this due to the fact that he sadly has no idea how to write.
For a matter of fact its even pretty hard for him to even talk in the English langue, but that was Quackity`s mistake for forgetting or just being too lazy to even teach him it again. Honestly maybe he didn't realise it would be important.
It isn't really important for a normal dog to know any English other than commands and orders from their master. They need to know that only. Whatever their owner says goes.
Obviously Quackity said some things to Dream to write the invitations, but he didn't know how to write and Quackity totally forgot then.
But then again he soon realised his mistake and realised he had to make them all him self, but that would be fine as all he needed to do was address each person, formally. Seems just as simple as that right?
Well uh you see Quackity also had other plans on what to do. With most of the other things and party's in the server, something devious was usually planned.
Now obviously he did have something else going on, now it doesn't sound so bad at first. He wants to make alliances, doesn't sound so bad right? Yeah. You see Quackity once he makes an alliance he plans to take control over the places he manged to secure control.
This would seem to be a tough task to do while trying to be not obvious about it, he needed to be seen as not a threat to anyone and everyone.
Never mind that.
-------
"So did you finish everything" Sam said this still looking unsure, more at his old prisoner standing beside Quackity
"Yes I did, but Sam.. no need to look at my dog like that" Quackity responded knowing full well Sam was unruly about the decisions.
"He's not even going to be doing anything.. trust me" Quackity played back after his first statement, the 'trust me' sounding in a sweet tone but also manipulative.
"Yeah ok. I'm just kind of still a bit unsure." Sam replied still unsure of this, even though he's said this one thousand times over.
"Anyways, I was thinking, who are you exactly going to invite" Sam said "I just want to know, like as of the fact barely anyone has seen.. him" Sam knew that anyone other than Las Nevadas has actually seen the guard dog.
"Everyone!!" Quackity said with a hint of excitement but also with a bit of being annoyed.
"It's going to be grand as I said, so why not invite everyone to see this show. I mean what's the worst thing that could even happen"
"Uh- everyone? I don't know if that's really the smartest choice Quackity" Sam said back with confusion in the sound of his voice.
"Also don't you know you should never say 'whats's the worst that could happen' it's a rule, once someones says that, something always goes wrong." Sam added back to his first sentence.
"Ugh. Whatever it's just some stupid myth," Quackity says. "Honestly, why do you even believe that random bullshit" He was annoyed. Sam could tell.
"Woah, no need to get angry,, it's just I'm worried" Sam responded "You never know what could even happen"
"Trust me nothing bad will even happen." Quackity replied
"I know how to convince the people, plus nobody even liked Dream before this" Trying to convince Sam on the idea of this party as he knew that Sam was getting aggravated.
With a little more talking and 'convincing' it seemed like Sam was starting to get convinced. Eventually he was, no matter what, some people will always get their way. Some might say this is the way of life, others might say it's unfair. Whatever it was it didn't make sense.
----
So when everything was eventually handled, it looked great! It already looked grand but to make everything better Quackity had everyone to help him. He needed this to be perfect, his win, for once and for all he would get something right.
Sadly not everything is perfect, but maybe this could be? Hopefully.. he wanted this to go right, he needed people to trust him but also fear him. I mean the fear tactic would 100% work, would it really work for people to trust him?
With everything he's done surely there's someone who doesn't, I don't know like maybe everyone he's ever worked with and betrayed.
After countless time's of not being the most trust worthy person could he really be able to make everyone trust him with an party.
Based on all the other party's Quackity had held before something or another has got to be wrong with it. There was but that was beyond the point in his view, he thinks that, that part would make him more trust worthy.. but would it really?
Or would it make people trust him a lot less than they did before this. To do that much impact on a person was, extreme.
Maybe there might be a happy ending, but first our boat has to sail through the storm. To escape and find your destiny, the treasure.
You need to face challenges before getting the spot of gold, or how interesting would the story be? You need a good story to succeed in your trail. If you find the gold you need a story to go with it, something to tell people about in decades from now, hell even centuries.
Everything must come together to complete a good story.
Of at least that's what I've heard some people say, a good story comes with pain, sadness and grief. Everyone will need to accept in the end, they need to accept their lives in sadness, denial, but maybe sometimes, a happy ending!
Something you'd only hear in fairy tales.
Just maybe that could be reached.
