Manny was in front of a mirror, adjusting his hair, brushing his teeth, passing many products that gave him a nice smell, and checking his choice of clothes, while Frida was watching TV. Rivera decided to put on his usual look of a black jacket, blue jeans and stripped yellow and orange shirt. He licked his hand to comb his hair, as he didn't want to diverge too much from his normal hairstyle, but also putting some effort to make it more unique tonight
-"Go get'er, tiger!"-She cheered for her friend
-"Actually, could you not say that? This needs to be perfect, so I can't let my other side out"-Manny responded, correcting any small mistake in his appearance
-"Sorry dude. But hey! What could go wrong?"
-"Me turning into El Tigre and attacking Zoe? Also saying "what could go wrong?" automatically makes something go wrong?"
-"...That is something that could go wrong...oops"
-"Me and Zoe have been planning this date for a long while, so I can't mess things up"-Manny could feel his anxiety rushing, but he comforted himself as he took a quick peek at the calendar-"But not to worry because I checked on the moon status and it said that today won't have a full moon"
With everything checked, Manny decided that he was finally done, and headed for the exit
-"Hold the phone! Aren't you going to take your belt? Ya know, the only thing that can contain your tigre side in a full moon?"
-"Eh, it's too tight and uncomfortable. Grandpapi still needs to readjust it, so I won't be taking it"
-"If you say so"-Frida shrugged off as he left
-"Now back to the craziest pranks ever"-That was the sound of the TV show-"With the number 2 spot going to the calendar business misplacing the moon's order. Haha, very funny, but not as funny as White Pantera thinking he can actually get rid of evil in Miracle City! (Poor fella). So friends, let it be known that today we WILL be having a full moon. I repeat: full moon TODAY! Geez, I sure hope that there aren't any were-creatures going around"
-"...Oh boy"
Manny waited anxiously in the marked spot. He kept pacing his feet in circles, nervous about him messing things up, and if there is something that is very embarrassing is ruining things up as a human instead of a weretiger. His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the echoing sound of mid-heel boots clapping against the sidewalk, growing louder and louder towards him.
Rivera turned around and was lovestruck by the sight of his date, Zoe Aves, using a purple short tank top with a drawing of a crow on top of a skull; a black skirt; fishnet socks that extended all the way to her knees, and the aforementioned mid heel black boots. Her hairstyle was on par with her goth style, with one breach of her purple hair covering one of her red eyes.
All of that made Manny drop his jaw, as if the whole world got into slow motion, similar to those corny 2000's Disney movies
-"Sorry! We dropped the slow-motion machine!!"-One worker that was carrying said device apologized
-"You mean YOU dropped the slow-motion machine! I told you already to get a better grip"-The other worker responded as his buddy took hold of the machine. And then they left
-"Kept you waiting, huh?"-She said with a smug smile
-"Oh yeah...I MEAN don't worry!"-Manny awkwardly laughed it off-"By the way, you look beautiful"
-"Thanks"-Zoe blushed-"You're also pretty...pretty"
-"Wow, that has to be the nicest thing a girl has ever said to me"
-"So, shall we begin our date, Rivera?"
-"I was waiting for you to say that, my lady"-Manny responded by giving her his arm, and Aves wrapped on him as she giggled. And thus, they were off
The couple's first stop was by a romantic restaurant (in which Manny booked a table in advance). They had a wonderful time there, enjoying each other's company, as with the food. They talked about the same thing, mocked the same people, and overall, had a superb time. They could spend the whole date talking, but Manny had other plans for this date, so once they finished their meals, the duo left for the next top, that being the "Grande Grandioso Carnival" that was happening in Miracle City's park.
The many rides and games kept them entertained and busy for the remainder of their date. Once nightfall came, Zoe and Manny left the carnival loaded with prizes and small snacks, the best one being a raccoon plushie that Aves got for Rivera after he failed on the ball game (She kept playfully tormenting him over the fact). Truly, that night was going more than perfect, not only in Manny's head, but in Zoe's too
-"Oh Manny, I had a wonderful time with you"-Zoe commented
-"Yup, I can safely say the same"
But even when everything was going perfect, the goth girl's happiness seemed to be slimming out, like a candle melting after being lit for so long, now being exchanged by discomfort in her heart
-"Is something wrong?"-The boy asked once he noticed her growing sadness
-"...Actually Manny, I need to confess something..."
-"Oh..."-Manny blushed, taking a bite out of his cotton candy. He knew that it could be a little awkward to let out a love confession (altho everybody in the whole world seemed to know that they loved each other, with the only ones that didn't know being...themselves), but as his dad taught him: Patience and hearing your partner are the most important build-blocks for a relationship
So Rivera was more than willing to wait as long as necessary for Zoe to say it
That...until Manny saw it coming on the horizon
The oh-so-dreaded full moon
Panic started to rush into the boy's veins, his googly eyes instinctively shooting toward his date
-"Z-ZOE!"-He yelled, his voice loaded with worry-"RUN!"
-"What?"-That snapped the goth girl out of her shy demeanor into a confused one-"What are you talking about?"
It was too late. Manny could feel his inner tiger coming out. He tried to fight it, but it was useless without his belt, so all he could do is watch his date ignore his pleas and just stare back at him. Rivera dropped all the good stuff they have won at the carnival, and pressed his arms around his belly, as he felt every nerve of his body spike
And thus...it begun
Manny fell face-down on the floor, as his face started to burn with how one side was being forcefully and painfully stretched, twisting to resemble that of a tiger. Some of his teeth were forcefully pushed out, replaced by yellow fangs. Rivera felt his left human eye drying and shrinking, before refilling itself, but now being a tiger's eye with all its animalistic properties. Whiskers grew uncontrollably out of his right cheek, as orange fur jumped out in random spots on his body. His left arm was absorbed, leaving behind a shrunk and flappy arm, with the right arm growing twice its size, the tip of his hand-bones piercing his fingers. His upper body doubled in size to accommodate the buffed arm. His legs weren't strong enough to hold all the upper weight, so Manny was forced to get on all 4 (all 3 would be the actual correct term). To top it all off, his spine elongated out of his body, only to be covered with muscle and then fur, thus forming a tail
That was the horrific form he took whenever a full moon came. That was...El Tigre
The weretiger looked up, hoping that his painful transformation had given the headstart necessary for his date to escape his wrath, but instead, there she still was, mere feet ahead of him. The most shocking part was how...calm she seemed. While yes, Zoe had an expression of surprise plastered on her face, it was more of interest than what Manny was expecting
-"A-Aren't you afraid?"-He asked. While it was difficult to talk (or breathe) with his half-tiger face, he could still do it
-"...No, actually"-Zoe responded, and that made Manny even more confused-"I'm actually...kinda glad"
Every word out of the goth girl's mouth seemed to make El Tigre super confused-"What?! How come you aren't scared of me?! Aren't you afraid that I might hurt you?!?!"
-"I'll tell you why"-Aves responded, before taking a quick glance at her pulse clock-"in 2 minutes"
It was a little awkward. Zoe hummed to herself, and Manny continuously breathed out loud
-"So umm...what was it that you wanted to confess?"
-"Oh, you'll see...you'll see"-The goth girl said. She scratched her nose before looking at her clock again-"And here it comes"
Zoe's chill expression suddenly changed into a painful one. She fell on her back, with her body bending and twisting with loud bone-cracking noises. Ave's arms, legs, torso and neck started to stretch out to uncanny measures. Both her hands started to change colors into a raven-black tone; her 3 main fingers growing, and the tip of them turning into sharp claws, while her thumb and little finger decreased into insignificant sizes. Her legs also changed to the same color as her hands, but horrific bone snaps followed as they were bent and snapped to resemble the same shape as that of a satyr. The fishnets ripped holes by how forcefully stretched it was. The beak of her boots was ripped open by her toenails being transformed into claws. Suddenly, calamus started to jump out irregularly out of her body, before purple vanes started to blossom out of them.
A small black dot grew on the tip of Zoe's nose. The goth girl used her claws to not only rip off her nose, but to now open her face in half, a crow skull emerging and replacing her once normal human face. One of her eyes fell off and dangled by the optic nerve (by how big the skull's eye orbit was), while the other was still inside, but being equally as nerve-racking
Thus completing Zoe Aves' transformation into a werecrow, Black Cuervo
-"Ah shoot. I just got these boots"-Zoe commented, frustrated. With her footwear being destroyed anyway, she reached down to remove the boots that were now only getting in the way
-"Y-You...You..."-El Tigre tried to say anything, not believing his eyes at what just happened
-"Yes, I know, I look horrific and disgusting, and you probably won't want to talk or get near me ever again"-Cuervo commented with a deep sigh, looking down-"But this is what I wanted to confess to you..."
-"You...look so beautiful"
Zoe snapped her head back to Manny, now being the one in disbelief-"W-What?!"
-"Yes! I could have never imagined that you could look prettier, but I guess I was wrong then"
-"Awww, thanks. You know, you're also pretty cute"
El Tigre extended his arm, giving out his paw for her, and Black Cuervo happily took it, now being pulled closer to the other were-creature. They stared at each other's horrific eyes, before exchanging deep kisses on the other lips(?)
It would have been cute...if it wasn't for their deformed appearance and the disgusting noises they were producing
The monsters broke away after minutes of just pure kissing
-"So...want to continue our date?"-The crow asked, and that made the tiger give a big smile
-"I would love to"
And thus, they were off...again. Their energies seemed to have restarted, but now with a new perspective on how their date would play out this time as they ran off to the woods
Their first stop was by a farm. All the animals were innocently sleeping. There was a group of goats sleeping in a corral. One goat, in particular, raised its head when it felt something moving by the trees...that was the last thing it heard, as it was quickly swooped by a shadowy blur in absolute silence
The goat was dropped off in the middle of the woods, totally isolated from its group. The animal couldn't let its scream out, before being abruptly killed by two sharp teeth by its neck
The goat's belly was grabbed and ripped off by El Tigre's massive hand, with the weretiger proceeding to munch on the flesh. Black Cuervo got right on top of the carcass, lowering her head to peck on the insides
Even with bloodied mouths, they kissed yet again (because blood is sexy and a fashion statement). While yes it was a little awkward to a half-man half-tiger mouth to try kissing a crow's beak, they didn't care. They had a monstrous love for one another
They didn't even finish the meal, leaving it to rot, before going to their next date stop: The carnival
It was pure delight...for them. The deafening screams of the people as they spreaded chaos and destruction, breaking the rides and taking all the prizes for themselves, even if they didn't hold any usage for the were-couple.
They kept at it until nothing remained. The monster duo left before the police could arrive, leaving the witnesses scarred by the sight of the monsters, but of course, still wracking havoc on their escapade
El Tigre and Black Cuervo were now at the cliff by the Miracle City volcano, looking down at their path of destruction. The couple then looked at each other, smiling (within the capabilities that their deformed faces could perform), even happier by the turn their date took. Alleviated that they could find not only a match for their human forms, but for their were-creature side too. Zoe gave a small peck (get it?) on Manny's cheek
-"Oh Manny, I had an even more wonderful time with you"
-"Me too"-Rivera laughed, coming out horrific sounding for normal humans, but being a delight for Zoe. Manny looked at the moon, and how it was disappearing by the horizon. That made El Tigre worry-"Oh shoot! I need to go!"
-"Me too"-Zoe said once she also saw the moon
-"Do you also...ya know?"
-"Oh yeah, heh"
The two then blushed and goofily laughed once they realized what the other was referring to
-"Wanna have another date?"-Zoe asked, expanding her wings to take leave-"Tomorrow by 7 pm?
-"I would love to"-Manny responded
Before the crow flew away, the tiger gave one last kiss on her lips, before his date left with a croak
With nothing left to do, El Tigre also left, with a surprisingly fast speed (for something that runs on all 3 legs)
Manny reached the fire escape stairs and got inside the apartment. Before he could reach for his door, his body began twisting itself, painfully reversing his weretiger transformation back to his usual 18-year-old self. Once that was done, he found himself being...semi-naked, wearing rags that were once his clothes, now ripped and broad
-"I'll never get used to it"-Manny said to himself, before going inside
The first thing that Manny found was Frida still watching TV
-"Oh hey, dude..."-The girl said, relaxed, before panicking out of nowhere-"DUDE!!! TODAY IS A FULL MOON!!! I was going to call you, but you forgot your phone, and I was going to run to your date...but I needed to use the bathroom and I ended up forgetting and...why are you using rags?"
-"Oh yeah, about that, you're not going to believe it, but I just had the best date ever!"-Rivera said with a huge smile
-"But, didn't you turn into a weretiger?"
-"Well, yes! But you're not going to believe it, but let's just say that she liked my other side"
-"Because she's a furry?"
-"...No"
-"Welp, at least the date went well. Now let me make a sandwich for us"
-"Oof, don't even talk about food. I feel like I ate a whole goat"
-"What?"
Suddenly, their conversation was interrupted by the TV
-"Welcome back to the craziest pranks ever! We know that we already gave the number 1 spot to Doctor Chipotle Jr for selling spoiled guacamole, but seeing the destruction made by two were-creatures, I decided to give the prize to these two, for destroying the carnival. You may be thinking about the tragedy of it all, but I'm a sociopath, and this type of stuff brings me joy!"
Manny turned off the TV
-"...I was watching that!"-Frida said, nonchalant to what the show host just said-"Also congrats"
