Tommy has a bad feeling as he helps Tubbo with a build

Work Text:

Tommy was packing his stuff. He was gonna help Tubbo with a build in Snowchester. Before he left the house, he petted Shroud on his head. “Be a good spider, okay? I’ll be back before you know it.”
Shroud nodded and hissed. “Great. See you tonight buddy.”
And then Tommy left. Not locking his door, as he never did.
He didn’t notice, someone sneaking behind him…

“Tommy, how is Shroud doing? You think Michael can come over to play with him again soon?” Tubbo asked, while they were working.
“Yeah, I don’t see why not. Shroud is doing amazing. He likes hanging out in my room against the wall. It’s his favourite hobby.” Tommy said with a smile.
“That’s nice. Michael has figured out how a flute works. Doesn’t mean he knows how to play it though… So, I have to endure his attempt.” Tubbo said with a laugh.
The build was getting along just fine. Tubbo wanted to build a few more buildings around Snowchester to make it livelier. And of course, Tommy would help him.
Though, Tommy did have a bad feeling in his stomach. Maybe he was getting sick. Or tired. Or maybe both. He did sleep worse the last few days.

“Tommy, are you okay?” Tubbo asked. The two boys had taken a break and were sitting in the mansion.
“Yeah, yeah, I am doing great. Just fantastic.” Tommy answered, still starting in front of him.
“You don’t look fantastic.” Tubbo joked.
“Ouch.” Tommy said. “Well, maybe I feel a bit sick. I don’t know why. This morning I was fine.”
“Maybe you are just tired. Why don’t you go home and rest.” Tubbo suggested.
“Fine. Maybe that is smart.” Tommy said as he stood up and got ready to leave.

Tommy hurried home. Something felt so bad. He didn’t know what, but it felt wrong.
When Tommy got home, he noticed the door being open. He didn’t lock the door, but he did close the door. So that was a red flag. Tommy slowly entered the house. And immediately stopped. There on the floor was Shroud in a pool of blood. Tommy staggered back…
No. No, no, no. “SHROUD!” Tommy knelt down next to Shroud. “Shroud, please.”
But Shroud was cold. He was gone.
Tommy’s eyes fell on a message on the wall.
Greetings Tommy, I took care of your bug problem for you. Hope you don’t mind.
Your best friend, Dream :)

Dream… Of course Dream did this. Dream could never leave him alone.
Tommy screamed. Why was it always him?!
