Butterfly

Summary:

He wasn’t sure what it was, but it didn’t seem a threat. Naturally he was curious to know what other soul may be trapped in this hell with him, so he stood and squinted at the tiny shadow dancing across the sky.

Work Text:

Water never used to bother Ranboo all that much. He’d always naturally avoided it, therefore it wasn’t an issue. Now of course, it was an issue. How could it not be? He had a single patch of land just barely big enough to allow him to sit, the rest of his horrid limbo nothing but stretching ocean.

He couldn’t possibly know how long he’d been stuck here, the sun was stuck in a permanent setting position and he didn’t have nearly enough land to etch marks into to count what he could only guess were days. What he did know however was he never saw a single living thing other than his reflection in the water below him.

At least, not until now. This time, as he stared blankly out at the horizon he spotted a small fluttering creature. He wasn’t sure what it was, but it didn’t seem a threat. Naturally he was curious to know what other soul may be trapped in this hell with him, so he stood and squinted at the small shadow dancing across the sky.

Eventually the thing fluttered its way towards his island, revealing itself to be a tiny red butterfly. It briefly landed at Ranboo’s feet, wings slowly opening and closing as it rested. Somehow it brought Ranboo a sense of comfort, somehow it reminded him of Tommy.
