Work Text:
Dream and George have been together all day long, but not in the way both of them needed. They were tired of not being able to be touchy in public, as much as their fans ship them and believe in the relationship, they needed something private.
The door to their hotel room closes, and George can automatically tell something is wrong with Dream, and his deep sigh confirms it.
“What's wrong, Dream?” He asks as he puts his bag down, watching Dreams every movement as if he was going to disappear.
Dream sits on the edge of their bed, “I don't know, I just- everything today could’ve been so much better. I feel like shit complaining about it but this day was meant to be perfect, George.” He replies almost in distress.
“Dream, hey look at me please.” Dream looks up as George walks over, “I know that you’re disappointed in the panel and things but you're here. You're here with all of us, that's what matters most.” He's confused with the zero change in Dream's face.
He watches as Dream puts his head in his hands, “It’s not just the panel anymore though, just everyone here too. I love meeting fans but this is my first time being in public, and I think this whole thing was a bad idea.” George can see the tears starting to fill his water line, “I cannot express how much I appreciate my fans, but when i got off the stage I didn’t- I didn’t expect to be fucking ambushed.”
George tries to pull Dream's face out of his hands, but the Florida boy won't allow it, “Dream please just look at me when I say this.” George asks in desperation, Dream finally looks up “You don't have to defend yourself for feeling overwhelmed or over stimulated in a place like that. You can be mad, you can be upset. You need to realize that you can have these emotions and that you can complain. How you’ve been treated is so fucking unfair.”
Dream smiles and the English boy keeps going, “I am extremely proud of you, so are all of your friends and your fans. This is a big moment in your life and it's expected that you are going to have a tough time. I'm here for you, Sapnap is here for you, all of your friends are here for you.” George ends with a serious face.
For the first time in three days, Dream feels at home.
He is meant for this moment to happen.
Dream puts his forehead to Georges, “Thank you. I appreciate you more than I could ever put into words, truly.”
