"Dancing bears, painted wings. Things I almost remember, and a song someone sings once upon a December"

A beautiful ballroom, filled with people, shimering gowns, glorious suits, the colors flitting together as people danced around the room, there were people at the edges of the room, they were wall flowers, refusing to partake in dancing but okay with talking while they watched people dance or they didn't have a partner to dance with.

The picture perfect event, almost felt like a hallmark movie if not for Chad's obnoxious voice exclaiming about something.

Morgan wasn't listening. Too busy watching the guests.

"Someone holds me safe and warm. Horses prance through a silver storm. Figures dancing gracefully across my memory,"

The current song playing sounds sad, almost mournful of the past.

Still he shakes his thoughts away as he moves away. Something he should do, ever since Mako Island he's gotten these powers. The powers of a merman.

Now he had to stay away from water, making sure it didn't touch his skin or he'd gain a tail and be mobile until he was dry enough to get his feet back.

And if he saw a full moon in any reflective surface including staring at the damn thing, it either made him grow a tail instantly loosing his feet or he'd grow moon crazy and the next few hours he wouldn't remember.

This was the cost to being a merman.

"Far away, long ago, glowing dim as an ember,"

Now away from the party a little, he was able to breathe. The party inside was loud and filled with people. Outside was quiet and calming.

"What are you doing out here? The party is inside,"

Morgan turned at the voice expecting his father but surprised by the golden eyes staring down at him.

"Things my heart used to know, things it yearns to remember, and a song someone sings. Once upon a December,"

Morgan shrugged. "Got a little loud for my taste," then turning to face the beautiful eyes he asked. "Aren't you Superier?"

They nodded. "And you're?" they prompted.

Morgan shrugged again. "Trying to figure out a way to leave,"

Superior scowled. "I can see that, no I  meant your name,"

"I know," Morgan replied heading away from the house.

Superior followed. "Where are you going?" they asked.

"The water," Morgan replied hoping to shake the stranger hero away.

It didn't work. "But you're not even dressed for a swim,"

"Not yet," he replied diving into the water and surprising the hero.

"Wait! Your clothes they'll get-" but the words died on his mouth when Morgan swam back up, his suit now gone showed off his bare chest, he had scaled crawling up his arms, parts of his face and some leading down his waist, it was harder to see anything more under the water.

"How," Superior questioned.

Morgan smiled. "Race ya,"

Though when Superior joined him in the water Morgan was no where to be found. Superior didn't even know his name let alone who he was.
