Chapter Text
You’re a witch.
And you’re an enigma to everyone you’ve met, no one knows how you came to mondstat, or how you even got to tevyat. But you’re widely known, and regarded as ‘strange’.
Most in tevyat has something called a ‘vision.’ But you don’t, your magic is powered by spells, and various other things.
You live out in the woods, and in a little cottage. You’ve always kept you distant around others. In fear of what they could do, although you aren’t weak -
You’d much rather not cause problems.
But you spend your time in a garden (you made, with spells - and hard work.) planting flowers of all kinds, big and small, tall and short. None of that mattered to you.
You just wholeheartedly enjoyed taking care of plants and watching them flourish.
Although on one fateful of October in Mondstat, you had ran out of seeds, and you desperately needed to restock. “Shame…” You mused, “I wanted to make my little trips to the town limited, but, I suppose it can’t be helped.” The walk would be too long, but you knew taking a broom would just feed the distaste for others. Unfortunately you had no other choice.
Your broom, was floral designed vines wrapping around it and gold dusting the bristles of it. The broom was powered by your spell you had placed on it. Although it has a mind of it’s own, it still listened to your every command, it never dropped you once (Well, one time… but you didn’t count it, it was an accident.)
“My broom,” You called gently and it hovered to your side, “We’re making a trip - I assure you though, it should not take me long.” You pack essentials, your trusty spell book, and dagger. “Now, shall we?” You smiled at the broom before leading the way outside of your cottage.
Your broom hovered at a height perfect for you to board it. You placed both hands on the middle of the broom and you were off.
You flew high above the forest, but low enough to see whenever you’d arrive to town. You hummed a gentle tune to the wind, and it listened, and responded with a tune of its own.
Although the tune was mischievous - making you waver in the air each time. Though, you didn’t mind.
You were close to The city of freedom, so you began to lower yourself, far away from the city, but close enough to walk too.
“Now!” You clapped your hands together with a smile, “You are not to leave this spot until I return, lest we run the risk of getting into trouble - besides…”
You trailed off staring at your broom, “It would be quite odd to see a broom floating around, for normal people that is! Ah, i’ll be back though.”
You wave to your broom and walked the bridge of Mondstat, seeing that same young boy that watched the birds day and night. (You’re worried, where are his parents?)
The trip must be quick and curt, you thought. You don’t want to linger.
Once you’ve passed the gates you made a sharp turn to the florist shop, your legs going as fast as they could take you.
The shop owner noticed your arrival, “A customer!” She greets with a smile, though you’re not quite sure it meets her eyes, “How may I help you today?”
“I'd like a bag of dandelion seeds, and pumpkins if you will?” You smile, and she nods. “Right away, stay right there, if you will? I’ll be out with your order.” And she returned inside the shop.
“So much for quick.” You solemnly mumble to yourself, your starting to get uncomfortable just standing there. People were starting to stare at you, and mumble amongst each other.
And your saved by the bell, Flora returns with you order, “Now! That’ll be 400 mora, if you will?” You made no reply and gave her your money. “Have a nice day!”
You gave her a curt nod and made your escape - you did not want to be here anymore, you so wish to go back into the comforts of your home and -
You bumped into someone, accidentally of course, but you still bumped into someone.
You stumble back with a wince, the person you had bumped into slowly turned to face you. And you finally got a good look at them, bright red hair, and eyes that lack ambition, it’s like they were staring into your soul.
“I apologize” You mumble, bowing your head and walking past them like nothing happened.
“Wait, I-“ And the words died on his tongue, you were already gone, strange.
He hadn’t seen you here before - He had tabs on everyone in mondstat, but he’s never seen you.
He wondered if you were dangerous, your attire was strange, but beautiful.
He’s curious.
