Work Text:
Hiccup gave a small cry, pulling away the razor. Blood began to bloom on his chin under the froth of shaving cream.
“Dammit,” he muttered, running the razor under hot water to get the blood off of it, then grabbing for a nearby towel. He hadn’t nicked himself while shaving in a very long time, but he’d been lost in thought, thinking about his father.
A cooing sound came from the doorway, and then there was a huge black dragon trying to fit themselves into the small bathroom.
“Toothless, I’m fine!” Hiccup cried, patting at his face with the towel. It stung where he’d been nicked, but it wasn’t too bad. “I just cut myself while shaving. It’s only a little bit of blood.”
Toothless backed up, then just stuck his head through the door. Hiccup went to him, shaking his head. His dragon worried about him too much, and he might as well tell him so.
“Bud, you worry too much.”
Toothless rumbled, rolled his eyes.
“Excuse me, I can take care of myself just fine!”
A call came from down the hall. “Are you arguing with Toothless again?!”
“Astrid, he started it! I’m just trying to shave!”
Toothless got a paw through the door.
“Hey, bud, leave me be for now!” Hiccup was laughing, trying to shove Toothless out the door with one hand and his body while he still held the towel to his face.
Toothless made a grumbling sound, apparently giving up. He pulled himself out of the door, and slunk down the hall, clearly moody.
Hiccup laughed, then looked in the mirror, checked the small wound on his chin. All this because he’d nicked himself while shaving. Toothless worried too much.
