When Sherlock Holmes sleeps, the world changes. Sometimes it's just little things, like the curtains, or the color of the wallpaper. Other times he wakes, and his entire reality is new. He's learned the hard way that it's risky, feeling things; one morning everything he loves could be gone. So he loves nothing. Or tries, at least. John makes things a bit more difficult.
