Work Text:
Xie Lian loved kissing his husband.
Many people assumed that Hua Cheng was the more affectionate between the two of them. After all, he had openly declared time and time again that Xie Lian was his reason for living.
But really it was Xie Lian that usually awoke first. He would wake from his slumber to find himself in Hua Cheng’s protective embrace, and usually naked. He’d smile, gently turning his head to press a tender kiss to some spot on Hua Cheng’s face, more often than not the tip of his husband’s nose. This usually caused Hua Cheng’s face to scrunch up, which would bring a quiet giggle out of Xie Lian.
Later, after his morning meditation, Xie Lian would enter their dining room to find Hua Cheng awake and watching as the servants brought out breakfast.
“Good morning husband,” was Xie Lian’s typical greeting, followed by a kiss on the lips. There was a fifty-fifty chance that his husband would tug him into his lap, sharp fangs playfully nipping at his lower lip. It was one of the things Xie Lian found most attractive about his husband, and it never failed to cause him to moan softly and open his mouth.
When Hua Cheng kissed him like this, it was all that Xie Lian could concentrate on. Even things like breathing were not as important as Hua Cheng’s tongue sliding into his mouth. He usually moaned again, one of his hands coming up to tangle in Hua Cheng’s hair as he tried to suck on his husband’s tongue.
Some days he was strong enough to end it there, his chest heaving and his cheeks flushed. Other days saw the servants quickly removed the food from the table at the snap of Hua Cheng’s fingers and then Xie Lian found himself ravished on the table.
“Good morning, beloved.” Hua Cheng usually murmured with a tender kiss to his lips, pulling his leaking cock from his entrance.
“We have to bathe, husband.” Xie Lian said, clenching his asshole to try and stop his cum from leaking out. Hua Cheng would nod, and do one of three things: eat him out, shove his dick back in and pick him up, taking him to their bath chambers, or he would pick him up, using his clothing to stop the cum.
Today his husband let him go with just the simple kiss and a hum.
“Did you sleep well, beloved?” Hua Cheng asked, sliding him the pot of tea the servants had recently brough out.
From here they would discuss their day and other little topics. They would share a warm kiss goodbye afterwards, and then go about their days.
Sometimes they met up for lunch, and the same sequence of events from breakfast would happen. Sometimes they didn’t meet up again until dinner, where Hua Cheng would be the one joining last.
“Sorry for the delay, gege.” He would always say before tipping Xie Lian’s face up for a kiss, even if there wasn’t a delay at all.
“It’s okay, San Lang. You worked hard today.” Xie Lian would always respond.
Most days would see dinner passing peacefully. If Xie Lian was in the mood for sex, he would take his husband’s hand and lead him to their baths, an indication that sexual intimacy was on the table for tonight. If he wasn’t, he would hook his arm through San Lang’s. His husband never argued with this, and would simply press a kiss to the top of his head.
On those nights, the last kisses were always in bed.
But then there were days like today.
Hua Cheng sat down heavily in his chair, a loud sigh coming from him. Xie Lian would shoot him a concerned frown before rising from his chair and settling in Hua Cheng’s lap instead. Knowing his husband would forget to eat, Xie Lian focused on feeding them both. He always had Hua Cheng finish first so as he finished his own meal, his husband would share his difficult day. Depending on the contents of the day, Xie Lian would either send his husband to a training room to vent his frustrations and then go to prepare a bath filled with soothing oils and soaps, or he would take him directly there.
Today he opted for the second.
“I’m sorry your day was hard, beloved.” He said, kissing Hua Cheng’s forehead. “Come, let this husband take care of you.” He said before rising to his feet. Hua Cheng nodded, and together they made their way to the bath.
For nights like this, Xie Lian would start running the water, putting in the soothing concoction that was necessary for the night. Tonight wasn’t any different except for one thing. To his surprise, Hua Cheng started stretching himself open, which was uncommon between them.
Today must have been particularly rough.
“Love, I can do that.” Xie Lian tried, cupping his husband’s face. Hua Cheng shook his head, and after a few more thrusts of his fingers, he pulled them out.
“Is this okay?” Hua Cheng asked. Xie Lian appreciated that, and sometimes it wasn’t. But on nights like those, he simply helped his husband with one of the various toys they had in their bedroom. Tonight was okay, so he nodded and pulled him into the bath.
A round or two of love making later and Hua Cheng was silently crying against his shoulder. Xie Lian simply cradled him in his arms, pressing warm kisses across his face as he tenderly cleaned them off.
“Xie Lian, I love you.” Hua Cheng finally whispered. Xie Lian washed away the last of the soap from his husbands body and then kissed him softly.
“And I love you, husband. Come on, let’s dry off and go to bed.” Xie Lian insisted.
Once they were in bed, Xie Lian took up the position of the “big spoon,” happily wrapping himself around Hua Cheng’s back.
“I don’t know why I get like this.” Hua Cheng whispered, voice a little horse from his crying. Xie Lian pressed a kiss to his cheek before nuzzling against it.
“Emotions are hard, beloved. It’s okay to let them out like this. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. And you know I’d never share this with anyone. Moments like these are just for us.” Xie Lian murmured.
