Summary
"You're late with the filing, Will," Chance murmured, his voice a low, vibrating baritone that seemed to settle right in the marrow of Will’s bones.
"I had to make sure we weren't interrupted," Will whispered, his eyes fixed on the silver fountain pen resting on the legal pad, his pulse thrumming in his throat.
Chance finally leaned back, his heavy leather chair creaking softly as he settled into the darkness, his dark eyes tracking the way Will was subconsciously worrying his bottom lip again, pulling the damp skin between his teeth until it was a deep, bruised crimson.

Summary
Suddenly, without any warning, Chance let go of Will’s hand, cupped his hands together, and sent a massive sheet of water directly into Will’s face.
Will gasped, the shock of it making him stumble back as he wiped the stinging lake water from his eyes. "Oh, you are so dead," he laughed, immediately lunging forward to return the favor.
They devolved into a chaotic, breathless war of splashing and chasing. Will tried to duck underwater to grab Chance’s ankles, but Chance was too fast, skipping backward with a loud, triumphant laugh that echoed off the dark tree line surrounding the lake. The water felt heavy and supportive, swirling around them in shimmering rings as they spun and splashed. Will finally managed to catch Chance by the shoulders, his damp skin slick under Will's palms, and they both tumbled backward into the deeper water.

Will sneaks out of his house and meets up with Chance to go on a date to Lover's Lake.

Set post-graduation, Will and Chance have been dating for eight months, since October of 1988. The only people that know about them is their families. Will and Chance have been hesitant to tell any of their friends as they wanted to keep enjoying their own world, but they know they've hidden it for too long now. After graduation, while the Party is still gathered on the field, Will decides it should happen now.
Follow them through the rest of the evening as they go through the motions of coming out, a party, and defending their relationship.

Graduation is getting closer, Mike still hasn’t gotten over Jane, and Will is trying (and failing) to get over him. As if that wasn’t enough, he starts to realize that maybe Vecna didn’t actually die and, on top of all that, he still has to deal with a certain athlete who just won’t leave him alone.
Or: Chance Lawson made a bet that he could make Zombie Boy fall in love, having no idea what awaited him.

At this point, Chance is expecting Will to be the same shy boy he was in highschool, the type of detective who really just handles coffee orders instead of important documents—so imagine his surprise when ‘Detective Byers’ shows up to the station with an ass bigger than a BMW-X5, and a kind of confidence that could cut his ego and morning bagel in half.
In which Chance Lawson is a detective after living through a horrifying childhood event where his closest friends were the victims of a mysterious gruesome murder. He picks up the case that left his town desolate, and beside him joins a detective with a name he begins to recognize very well.

Now a comic book artist living along the southern coast, he’s been content on his own, focusing on his art and his day job, and passing his free time watching the surfers who show up every morning while he sketches on the beach. When one of those surfers steps out of the water– and right out of Will’s past– and bursts his bubble of self-isolation, Will realizes that maybe there are parts of Hawkins that he doesn’t want to keep buried forever.
