Chapter Text
"Mom, I seriously do not understand why you had to wake us up in the middle of the night for a family meeting," Jonathan said rubbing his eyes harsly with the rough palm of his hand. Standing in an overside t-shirt that was presumably Will's shit once, was a tired El, yawning and an upset Will standing right at her side.
"Welll...if you would let met SPEAK" Joyce said in a firm tone with a slight smile on her face trying to contain her excitement. "I have big news that I think you'd all be happy to hear.."
"Hope it's worth waking us up at 1:40 am" Will commentated.
Joyce rolled her eyes playfully and stood from her wooden desk that stood in the dining room. "Well, I just got off a phone call with..." she paused...
"Mrs. Wheeler...AND..."
"Oh my god mom, I'm going to bed. I-I'm sorry I have work tomorro-"
"We're going to visit Hawkins for the winter to visit Hop. You guys will be able to visit your friends as well an-"
The woman was cut off by 3 pairs of arms around her torso, hugging her tightly. Joyce would have never expected this reaction from her children but she was happy. It reminded her of old times in a way when her tiny little brats weren't grumpy old potheads.
Joyce couldn't help but stifle a chuckle. "Next week on Thursday, you three. Go to sleep now you grumps."
"Good night mom, love you," The three all said in unison.
Will walked up to his bedroom and tried to lay down but instead, he found himself tossing and turning, throwing pillows and plushies on the floor. Will was kept up at the thought of being able to see his friends again. He found himself smiling into his vanity kicking his legs like a little girl in grade school.
Will's mood suddenly dropped when he was reminded of the fear that he had of visiting Hawkins. He knew this day would come, but he is still incredibly too scared. Sometimes Will still feels like he's flayed. The feeling is very faint but still. He's afraid that if he goes on to visit Hawkins that he may be...- Will shook these negative random thoughts out of his, head, telling himself to not feel anxious and look on the bright side
He had so much to catch up on with his friends. Lucas and his basketball tournaments. Dustin and his engineering. Max, and her new music. Mike and...well everything.
He wanted to see Mike, especially. The hazel-eyed boy, could count on his fingers how many times Mike contacted him ever since he moved to California. El had like a book of letters from that stupid boy.
Will rolled his eyes at the thought of his wonder twin getting unlimited affection from his best friend since kindergarten but he stopped himself from feeling all these negative emotions towards the couple, hitting his head hard on his vanity, clearly catching the attention of the twin next door as she suddenly came knocking at his door.
"Hello? Will is everything Okay in there? I heard a loud bang." speak of the de-angel. speak of the goddamn a-
"C'mon Will, let's talk...I-I can't sleep right now. Let me in weirdo." Will opened the door, dragging his house slippers across the hardwood floor, making Jane cringe.
"What's got you up? You look like a zomb- you look horrible...Aren't you excited, you finally get to see your friends again" Jane said, laying at the edge of the bed, throwing, Will's plushies everywhere
"I'm just...thinking...about a lot of things.." He paused. "You know El...it's...Hawkins. It's Hawkins and anything can happen to me again. But I just want to let you know that if something were to happen that-"
"Please...Will...Nothing is going to happen. I absolutely promise you. Oh, and if something were to happen then I'm always there to protect you" Jane flashed a smile at the boy, and he mirrored it back.
"Thank you, El...You're having nightmares again, aren't you? That's Why you came in here right? It's okay, I know how that feels. You can just sleep in here for tonight. okay?"
Will said, wholeheartedly. and grabbed a big duvet for the two of them. The two fell asleep faster than expected because of the high comfort and got some rest on this Sunday night.
