    "Run. RUN!"

Like a wild horse, afraid of domestication, afraid of being broken and used. I didn’t care for the consequences anymore. I didn’t care if my running would attract more attention. I needed to escape and get to freedom. The thought of being caught and thrown back in there motivated me to keep going. All the years of abuse and torture at the hands of the very people who had devoted their lives to God. The lives of my friends and the memory of the ones that passed kept me going. I needed to escape to save my own life.

When I was a little girl, my understanding of revenge was as simple as the Sunday School proverbs it hid behind. Neat little morality slogans, like 'Do unto others,' and 'Two wrongs don't make a right.' For the truly wronged, real satisfaction can only be found in one of two places: absolute forgiveness or mortal vindication.

My story is not about forgiveness.
