Eddie’s death and Max’s coma hit Steve hard, just as it did everyone else, but he seemed artificial about it all. It was almost as if he was faking each time he cried at Max’s bedside or comforted Dustin over Eddie. Overnight, he had gone from a normal Steve Harrington- strict, optimistic, stupidly brave and bravely stupid, protective- to a shell of his formal self- robotic, distant, and- not sad- numb."
