In the middle of the 1400s, the Ottoman Empire threatens Central and Southeastern Europe including Transylvania. A lord and knight from Transylvania is called upon to help fight in this war.
His name: Dracula.
In a castle on a hill, deep in the country, Dracula says goodbye to his husband.
“Must you go?” said his love sadly. His love, dressed in beautiful royal robes with dark brown hair and eyes full of tears. His name is Xiaodan. Dracula holds his love’s face in his hands, “This country needs me my love, I must do this to protect you and it.” said Dracula. He kisses his husband farewell and then joins with the army below the hill.
For months, Dracula battled against the forces of the empire, showing no mercy to his enemies. Meanwhile his husband worries if he will ever come back.
But while Dracula was away, the church members and villagers from the surrounding area of his castle did something that would haunt Dracula to the end of his days. You see, they did not like that Dracula let his wife later become a man after they married and identity as one. To Dracula, he wanted his love to be happy, and even though he changed, Xiaodan was still the love of his life. But to everyone else, it was a sin.
One night, the villagers stormed the castle, taking Xiaodan into town to be executed. The church members tried to make him see “reason” and “change back” but he refused. The next morning, they burned him at the stake.
When Dracula returned home, he was heartbroken when he heard the news. He mourned for days, not knowing what to do while his heart broke more from grief and rage. One day at the castle, he heard a voice.

“I can help you get revenge on those who wronged you...”
Dracula was mourning in his study, not having the strength to move around the castle. He looked around and saw a dark haired woman in a white robe and gown, floating in the air while the temperature in the room became cold as ice. “Why would you want to help me?” asked Dracula.
“Because it’s wasn’t your husband’s destiny to die in that way. Those who did the deed must be punished for going against destiny...” the woman said coldly. “I can turn you into a being that is not demon or immortal, a being that would take life from others through blood while having the strength of an army. With this power, you will have your revenge.” said the woman.
Dracula thought for a moment, and asked “If I agree, what do you get in return?”
“Nothing, just fixing the course of destiny as it should be.”
Dracula thought about it, but to him, he had nothing left to lose now, especially with his love gone. “Fine, I agree to the deal” Said Dracula.
The woman smiled, “excellent.” She brought forth an old chalice, filled with blood. “Drink this, and the deal is sealed...”
Dracula slowly takes the chalice and drank its contents. He then feels a shock of pain throughout his body and falls to his knees. Dropping the chalice. His body begins to ache and change, his skin growing paler, his canine teeth growing longer, his eyes turning red. Through the pain and change, he roars so loud even the heavens can hear it. He was no longer a mortal man, but now a bloodthirsty vampire that will bring terror throughout the land for centuries......
