Work Text:
It was Yakko's turn to do the dishes, he silently cursed to himself. Secretly, he hated doing the dishes more than both his siblings. His hands began scrubbing the dirty dishes beneath the water, a mild pout on his face as he meticulously did his least favorite chore. However, he was so focused on his work that he barely noticed his sister-sibling to the side of him.
Dot had strolled, well more like swayed, into the kitchen and right to her eldest brother’s side. With her hands clasped behind her back, she stared up at him with a certain soft look, softly humming a tune and gaining Yakko’s attention. She was so cute, but she looked way cuter than usual and it sort of threw Yakko off. He could feel butterflies in his stomach.
"Yakko~" she sang.
He had focused his attention back on the dishes. Dot didn’t notice her brother swallow the little lump in his throat, before he casually responded with the same sing-song tone "Yes, Dot~?"
She grinned, bearing her fangs and her cheeks warming enough to show a red tint.
"Can I have a kiss?" Dot could barely hide her excitement with her tail softly swaying behind her, like a little cat. She was sure Yakko would give her another one. It wasn't like it was the end of the world and she liked kissing another person a lot more than her teddy bear or her magazine cutouts of hunky men. She never paid attention to her brother in such ways, but it awakened something in her to see him more than just a loving, caring big brother.
They hadn't been set free for very long but they had made friends pretty quickly. Yakko befriended boys his age, young men and even older men found him entertaining to chat with, for a 14 year old. There wasn't an age group Yakko couldn't fit in, but no matter which age group he hung with they all talked about one thing: girls.
They spoke crudely, some absolutely in love and dying for the right advice to win her affections, others kept body counts while a couple found out their girls had been unfaithful. And while Yakko blended in just fine, and was pretty popular with women of all ages himself, he realized none of them ever spoke of kissing their sister or any family of their peer, especially as a lover. The only movie they had that portrayed siblings lip locking was the intergalactic one, but the space warrior prince and princess never spoke of their kiss again. And unlike them, here was his sister asking for another. Yakko never brought it up to anyone, but sometimes it would cross his mind.
Maybe that was a mistake...he had never kissed anyone on the lips before, and truth be told kissing made him nervous. The movies they were raised on set the tone that kisses were for someone you felt deeply for. Sure, Yakko was having a lot of sex, but he hardly ever thought about kissing any of those girls. And yet, here he was sharing his first kiss with his own little sister.
"Maybe you should save those cute lips for a man you love. Y'know, someone special." Dot was always so headstrong and it usually took a miracle to persuade her or change her mind with certain things. He didn't want to upset her, but he didn't want her upsetting him either with confusing thoughts or feelings.
Dot blinked, her arms fell to her sides as her head slightly tilted right with a confused look. Yakko could only chuckle at how unintentionally cute she could be without even trying. "There'll be other boys in your life, besides Wakko and me."
Dot sighed silently as her face fell into dissappointment, before softly protesting hoping to change his mind, "But I want you to do it...you're my big brother, you are special..."
Yakko could tear up with how soft and docile she was. It was different from the actress she portrayed on their show and even more different than how she usually was. While he loved this side of her, he wondered what had been changing his, usually, bratty little sister? She didn't even start puberty yet!
"How's 'bout we compromise" he suggested as he cleaned his last plate, "on the cheek?"
There was a gleam in her eye as she piped up, "Can I have a hug too?"
"Of course yo-oof!!"
She dove in for a hug around his torso, practically squeezing the wind out of him. Yakko had carefully set down the last dish only for Dot to beam up at him, and with sudsy hands, he lifts her into his arms to return her tight hug, her legs automatically locking around him.
Dot placed her head on his shoulder burying her, now flushed, face into the crook of his neck, lightly inhaling his scent as she still embraced her brother tightly with an equal feeling of butterflies fluttering in her chest. "Hug me tighter, Yak!"
Yakko could hear the smile in her voice and he chuckled, "I'm afraid I'll break your spine if I do!" but still he held her a little tighter, per her request.
Dot held her position, that feeling in her chest intensified and she didn't want him to see her blushing like an idiot. Of course Yakko always gave them hugs, she always thought of him as lanky, but it didn't seem like that anymore. Now, to her, he felt so strong, even his hands seemed a bit more firm as the left one was placed on her upper back to hold her. She could feel a pleasurable electric current shoot through her body as he tenderly stroked her back. Dot could swear she would melt in his arms soon, and with not wanting to embarass herself, she felt the urge to quickly leave.
Their embrace had gone on a little longer than either of them thought and it was Dot that had broken it. She wiggled to get out of his grasp, and with a puzzled look he set her down, still unable to see her face. Dot did a quick 180⁰ so he wouldn't catch how red her face was, but he called out to her to remind her what she originally came to him for.
"Dot! I thought you wanted a kiss?"
She gasped and slowly craned her neck to peek over her shoulder.
"What's the matter with you?" He softly asked, kneeling down to her height, as she trudged to him with her head bowed, "You're not as bratty or devious lately. You sick, Dottie?"
Her face twisted into an angry look, the red on her cheeks a bit more apparent and spreading across her face "No," she grumbled before raising her voice "I'm not sick!" She stamped a foot to the ground, "You know not to call me that! I hate that name, and next time you do I'll rip y–!"
Dot was in such a blind fury that she hadn't even noticed that Yakko tilted her head back by her chin and before she knew it, he had placed a sweet kiss on the edge of her mouth. His lips were so soft, even if they weren't directly on hers.
The hot air visually escaped her body and briefly fogged the kitchen, and again she felt silly and embarassed. How was she supposed to prove to him that she could be mature for a 10 year old, if she was having outbursts over a silly nickname? Dot hung her head, her cheeks had become less red and she shamefully dug her toe into their wooden floor.
Yakko just softly gazed at her while stroking his fingers through her short hair and between her long ears, "Y'know, you really are cute when you're angry." Dot finally peeked up to see Yakko's tender gaze and he grinned down at her, and she couldn't help sharing a soft, delighted smile of her own.
