   Summary

   Leaving wasn’t supposed to hurt Dazai. He was supposed to feel relief, feel better. Feel closure. He was supposed to move on immediately after. Why didn’t he? Why did it feel awful? Why did he choke down tears?

   Why did it hurt?

   Was it supposed to hurt? Maybe.

   Maybe leaving your best friend, cutting off all contact & watching as his name disappeared from every place you saw it, maybe that’s supposed to hurt.

   Dazai mourns what is alive, & he hopes he's allowed to miss what is no longer there.
