“Stay calm!”
“Calm? I’m calm!” Jaskier was not calm. Jaskier was stuck at the bottom of a dank cave that was probably a monster den. Said monster was probably, most likely, definitely, crawling on it’s way steadily toward him with the intent to devour him whole. He wouldn’t even be able to crawl away with how his snow was throbbing and the rocks pressed down on him. This was it. This was how he was going to die.
The dust and dirt was settling around him and there were a few rays of light filtering through the rubble that made it worse . The ground was damp and there were little bugs everywhere, scared by the noise and sudden light of the cave in. He tried to slide up and, yeah, his ankle wasn’t supposed to feel like that.
“Jaskier?” Geralt was probably kneeling on the edge of the hole, brows knit together and heartbeat nearly human. “Jaskier, do you see anything? A tunnel maybe?”
“No. No it’s all,” he took a shaky breath, “it’s all rock.”
“That’s good, means nothing is coming to get you.” Good. That’s good. Geralt didn’t lie to him. Not about the important things. “I’m going to dig you out, it’s very important that you don’t move.”
“Okay. Just get me out of here. The uh,” he pressed his palms together, “the dirt is ruining my good doublet.”
Geralt laughed weakly and the earth seemed to shake. He’s got you . Jaskier closed his eyes and shook.
