Frozen The Musical: The Summer Tour

Summary:

Ricky and Gina reconnect during tour.

Chapter 1: Last Day of School

Chapter Text

Last day of school,

Gina’s POV:

Gina thought last summer was her summer of first. She thought last summer would be her most memorable but this summer is destined to top it. Gina still couldn’t believe they were going on tour.

The Frozen documentary did so well that Disney decided to make a part two. The gang had been informed mid semester that part two of the documentary would consist of them doing a ten stop US summer tour to perform Frozen The Musical.

The initial shock of this amazing opportunity had worn off after a few months but today was the last day of school, first day of summer, exactly one week before they take off for tour and Gina just got word from Kourtney (who got word from her agent) that the first tour stop, Las Vegas, had just sold out.

The excitement was building again. Gina could hardly contain it. This summer was going to be perfect. Traveling and performing with Kourtney, Ashlyn, and Carlos by her side… and Ricky. Ricky was going on tour too.

Gina looked up from the lunch table, her eyes finding the table full of boys where Ricky usually sat. When her wandering gaze finally found him he was looking dead at her.

Ginas stomach flipped as she quickly looked away. She cursed under her breath feeling caught.

“Girl, you good?” Kourtney asked noticing Gina shift uncomfortably.

“Yeah its just… do you think things will be weird during this tour?”

“Weird?” Kourtney lifted a brow confused.

“With Ricky I mean. After we… ya know” Gina didn’t want to say it. She didn’t even want to think about it.

“Made out at the trailer premiere, then pretended it didn’t happen and avoided each other for a whole school year?”

“Im still confused as to what happened between you two.” Ash adds as she pops some fries into her mouth.

“Trust me, I know the feeling , I’ve been confused since I met the kid” Gina says ironically. But They didn’t know the whole truth. They didn’t know because Gina hadn’t told them.

Before Kourtney or Ash could respond Carlos was slamming his books onto the lunch table. “Can’t wait to throw these to the back of my closet and be on the road with you ladies” he said sitting next to Gina.

Conversation about the upcoming tour started up and Gina contributed here and there but her question went unanswered. Would things be weird?

She couldn’t help it when her eyes started to wander again to the same spot as before in the cafeteria. She was once again met with big brown eyes and a head full of curly hair looking right back at her.

She tried her best to hold eye contact but failed miserably as the guilt in her won the battle. She knew she’d hurt him when she cut him off after last summer.

If he knew just how much she had missed him he would not be staring at her with such painful eyes.

The guilt of hurting him ate at her heart some days. Those days she’d have to talk herself down from going to knock on his door.

Other days, the guilt would simmer when she remembered the times before last summer. The times he would pretend not to see that same painful look in her eyes whenever Nini was around.

Today was neither of those days. Today was a day she simply allowed herself to miss him.

Ricky’s POV

Tour. He was going on tour for the summer. He should be excited, thrilled, jumping with joy but all he felt was nerves.

Not only did they only have a week to rehearse before tour started, he had a feeling he would be super rusty in the acting and singing department due to him not participating in this years school musical that Miss Jenn and the drama club put together.

Deep down he knew his long list of reasons he was nervous were just excuses. It was Gina. He was nervous to back around Gina again. Though they were at the same school everyday all he’d gotten from her for the last seven months were stolen glances and a friendly smile every now and then.

He tried not to think about the night the trailer for the documentary premiered to often. It had been so perfect. Until it wasn’t and he still doesn’t know why. Why as soon as they got back to school she pretended it didn’t happen. Avoided him, ignored his calls.

He had assumed she regretted what they’d done. And that assumption made him want to die. But that was the only explanation as to how they’d went from being together in the best way possible to feeling like complete strangers.

He never pushed to confront her about it because the thought of making her uncomfortable was worse then the feeling of missing her. But damn did he miss her.

He wanted to be back around her again more than anything but not at the expense of ruining her summer. So tomorrow, at the first day of rehearsals he’d planned to ask her straight out if she wanted him there.

And if she says she doesn’t want him there, they will just have to find a new Kristoff for their Anna, as much as it would break him.

He didn’t want to ambush her though, so that night he sent her a text, hoping to make the awaiting conversation easier for the both of them.

Ricky: “Hey, can we talk tomorrow? Before rehearsals?”

Ricky fell asleep that night waiting for a text back that never arrived.
