This was not how Tighnari thought he was going to die, falling from a cliff. He didn’t even know how he got in this mess to start with.
Of course he dropped his vision first. The one thing that might have been able to save him. And it was gone, out of his reach. Beyond his call.
‘If this is how I’m going to die, I wish I could have seen Cyno one last time’ he thought to himself as his grip slipped a little on the rocky surface. Any moment now it would give out and Tighnari would go free fall into the rocks below.
“Cyno… if only I’d told you before… how much I love you, and your stupid unfunny jokes” he muttered into the wind.
The wind that had only gotten stronger, and at long last, had managed to push Tighnari off balance. Eyes screwed closed as his grip was slowly lost and the forest watcher started to feel the imminent fall.
“Cyno!” He cried out, heartbroken. Of course he didn’t believe he’d see the general again. That was until, just as his fingers finally left the rocky wall, something grabbed him.
“You’re not dying today, Tighnari.” Came the most beautiful voice Tighnari had ever heard, yet familiar all the same.
“Cyno…. You came…” a tear slipped down his cheek as he smiled up at the tanned man. “Of course!” was all he said before he tugged Tighnari up and yanked him into his lap.
Without missing a beat, Tighnari leaned in, kissing the general firm on the lips, startled, Cyno kissed him back, not missing more than a heartbeat.
“You came” Tighnari whispered once again, this time against Cyno’s chapped lips. “You called…” was all he echoed back
