Work Text:

Alice wonders what more she could do. Her life has been pretty boring over the past few days but she has a job to do. She has to open up her store. When she was younger, she had always dreamed of opening up her own bakery, after her mother died, so she did. Alice felt like she was improving because she didn't hurt herself as much as she did before. She would burn herself or have a cut every time she entered that kitchen. Alice didn't like working with others because they could mess things up but she did feel some emptiness because her mom would always be there.

Losing her mom hurt her like a deep wound that any of the other injuries she had acquired. Alice still woke up every morning with a smile on her face because that's probably what she would like. Today, she could feel like someone was watching over her as she was opening up. They walked closer and without turning around, Alice spoke up. “Oh, we’re not open right now,” and she was cleaning a bit of the glass. “I'm not here to buy anything,” a low voice came from behind and Alice recognized it immediately and groaned. “Of course it was him, trying to ruin my lovely morning,” she thought. “What do you want, old man?” and she heard a gasp. “Alice, I’m literally the same age as you… how could you do this to me?” Alice then opened up the store and then let him in. “Alex, you act as if you're my father and you nag a lot,” she told him.

“Someone has to look out for you since you don't do it yourself. Look- you even acquired more injuries since the last time we saw each other,” he stated. “Oh my gosh, there you go again,” Alice groaned and how he was still the same. Alex went over to the cabinets and pulled out some medicine and bandages. “Come on Alice, let me patch you up,” and Alice walked over with a smile on her face. Maybe the wound in her heart was no longer there.

Notes:

Isn't it crazy how wound nd wound are the same and sound different. "She has a wound," and "He wound her up."
