Little Satan sat, frowning in determination. In his hand was a square of finely woven linen.
Tongue firmly in the corner of his mouth as he concentrated, he was carefully moving his needle back and forth, the work slowly growing.
Saskia smiled benevolently, patting him on the head. “I see you’ve discovered a new hobby.”
“Mhm,” he nodded vaguely, not lifting his eyes from his work. “Barbatos is teaching me. He says it will help me to build my self-control so I stop losing my temper and destroying the house. I’ll show you when I’m done - he’s even going to frame it for me.”
After working diligently for two weeks, not revealing his work to anyone, the young boy came home with his framed sampler tucked under one arm. He proudly hung it on the wall of the HoL’s lobby for everyone to see.
Neatly embroidered in slightly wobbly stitches and surrounded by a design of brightly cheerful bats and cats, the whole household read “Lucifer is a poophead.”
