Chapter Text

Stop right there villain!"

"W-wait, hold on! I'm not a villain!"

"I said stop!"

"Please, I don't know where my daughter-"

"Stop right where you are or I'll be forced to retaliate!"

"I'm not even moving!"

"Daddy?" All heads whirled around as a small child with spider-like features stumbled out of an alley as though someone had pushed her. Maybe they did, since she looked behind her, startled, but didn't see anything. She ran up to the man with much more prominent mutations.

"Hanako, are you okay?"

"Hmhmm. I'm fine daddy. That was scary."

"It was, but it's over now sweetie."

Gallant Blade internally seethed. This had been the perfect opportunity to get one of those disgusting mutants off of the streets, but he wasn't so stupid as to believe he could get away with it now that the brat had shown up. Angrily, he turned and walked away, leaving father and daughter to make their way home.

X

"It was super scary! I thought that Hero was gonna hurt daddy, but everything turned out all right." Hanako babbled, chewing on her sandwich.

"Don't talk with your mouth full." Cthylla responded, slurping on her volcano style ramen.

"Hey!" Hanako had a brief second before a fist slammed into her head, cracking her Exoskeleton. Blinking the stars away, Hanako turned to see Mira Akotone glaring down at her.

"...Hello."

"What's this I hear about you getting caught up in a villain attack, freak?"

"Why do you care?" Hanako asked. Akotone blinked.

"I... I don't! I don't care at all about you, you stupid insect!"

"Then why did you ask?" Akotone opened her mouth, then closed it. Rinse and repeat. Finally, she gave up, socked Hanako in the jaw as hard as she could, then turned and stomped off to pout.

"Also, I'm an arachnid."

"Shut up!"

X

"Hanako, sweetie, we've been thinking, and we talked with Cthylla's parents." Her daddy began calmly. "We're all going to be moving the two of you to a new school district after the semester ends." Hanako cocked her head curiously.

"Why?"

"Because Drakengard Elementary isn't good for either of you " Her mom cut in. "You always come home with your exoskeleton cracked or broken. You're not clumsy, and it gets stronger every time it regenerates, so someone has to be doing it on purpose. The Principal blocks all of our attempts to find out what's wrong, and never gives us a straight answer, and we're positive they're tampering with your grades. We know Cthylla is smart, and we've seen you reading and writing and talking about things far beyond your grade level when you think no one's watching." Hanako's face turned red. "Sweetheart, it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's good that you're so smart, but that school seems to be going out of their way to hinder you and Cthylla." Her mother smiled, patting her head. "If it helps, we already found a school willing to take both of you next semester. You just have to wait a little longer."

X

"So you're finally leaving, huh?" Akotone demanded with a sneer on the last day of the semester. "Good riddance you disgusting bug!"

"By Mira! I'm sorry this school hurt you so badly, I wish we could have been friends." Hanako replied as she shouldered her randoseru. Akotone paused.

"What the hell are you talking about!? Hurt me how!?"

"My parents said the school was messing with people's grades, and that's one of the reasons they're putting me in a new school."

"Shut up! Maybe they messed with YOUR grades, but I'm the smartest kid in school!"

"But you got a perfect score on that math test last month, even though you were complaining about not understanding any of it. Doesn't that sound suspicious?" Akotone froze as she contemplated Hanako's words. She knew the math test Hanako was talking about. Like pretty much any other time she tried to read stuff, the words on the paper just looked like alphabet soup, all jumbled and mixed up. She could barely understand half of what the paper said. How DID she get a perfect score?

"Anyway, mybe if we went to a different school, we could have been really good friends. Bye!" And with that, Hanako and Cthylla left Drakengard Elementary for the final time.

Later that night, Akotone was holding the offending math test out to her mom, who was a Professor at the local college.

"Mama, I'm smart right!? Tell me I'm smart!"

"Honey, of course you're -" The woman froze as she looked at the test. "Wait..."

"What's wrong?" Her husband asked.

"More than half of these answers are wrong. Some of them are outright illegible. Why did they give Mira a perfect score?" She pulled out her phone. "I'm calling the school."

X

Aoi normally wore long shirts to school. They helped hide the bruises. She didn't want people getting worried for nothing. The police never did anything, and the students at school normally avoided her like a plague, regardless of how much the teachers at Kemonogami Elementary tried to get them to work with her.

She was alone.

"All right class." Their teacher, Yukionna Senpai, called. She was a tall woman with long black hair, pale skin, and usually wore a kimono. She seemed to have some kind of ice Quirk, since she was constantly radiating freezing air. "We have two new students joining us today. I expect you to treat them kindly, understand? Come in girls." A pair of girls walked in, one with pretty obvious spider mutations, and the other with tentacles for arms and a cloak covering her face. "Please go ahead and introduce yourselves."

"Hi! I'm Hanako Yumara! Nice to meet you guys!" The spider girl bubbled.

"... Cthylla Ryuu." The tentacle girl spoke shortly.

"...Right, okay. So, you two have the empty desks next to Haji-San." The girls sat in their seats as Yukionna Sensei began the lesson. Yumara waved to Aoi. The blue haired girl avoided eye contact.

X

At lunch time, the girls were approached by their new classmates, all excited by the new students.

"So what are your Quirks exactly?" One boy with wings asked.

"Oh, my Quirk's called Phoneutria!" Hanako explained. "And Cthylla's is called Deep One! Sorry, she's not much of a talker."

"Well, it's good to have you!" A girl with scaley skin chirped. "I'm just sorry you have to sit next to that Quirkless girl, Haji."

"Why? Is something wrong with her?" Hanako asked curiously.

"... She's Quirkless."

"I don't get it."

"She doesn't have a Quirk."

"I know what Quirkless means, I just don't see why that's a problem."

"It's a problem because she's Quirkless! H-hey, where are you-" Aoi yelped as Hanako was suddenly in her face.

"Hi! I'm Hanako! Nice to meet you!"

Hanako's actions ended up alienating her and Cthylla from the rest of the class, but neither of them really cared. She was glad to be friends with the timid Quirkless girl.

X

"Mama?"

"Izuku!? What are you doing home so early!?"

"The police came into school and arrested all the teachers..."

X

A few weeks later, Hanako learned a few things. One, her old school had come under fire after it came out they were not only tampering with the student's grades, but also encouraging bullying and discrimination. Parents were pulling their kids out left and right, and it was likely the school would soon be shutdown and the staff arrested. The Ministry of Education had announced they would be looking into other schools throughout the country following the scandal. There was also an investigation into the Asahi Police Department after evidence surfaced that they had been ignoring calls regarding the school.

Two, she was pretty sure Aoi's dad wasn't a nice person. The one time she and Cthylla had come over to Aoi's apartment, the man would snap and berate the poor girl. He didn't hit her or anything, but she was positive it was only because there were witnesses. It didn't help that Aoi flinched if he so much as looked in her direction.

She came to school the next day with a limp.

Unfortunately, the Asahi Police were still discriminatory assholes, so there was little Aoi could do.

Also, Child Protective Services in Japan sucked.

Hanako eventually joined an online chatroom out of boredom, with her parent's approval of course. The people in the chatroom seemed nice. She was able to talk to them about her problems when Cthylla wasn't available.

LowerMoon5: I need some advice.

RatBearDog: Oh?

Bunny_Bitch: What's going on cub?

LowerMoon5: I think one of my friend's dad is abusing her.

Mini_Nyoom: This is a matter to take up with your local police department, not a group of people online!

LowerMoon5: The police won't do anything to help her because she's Quirkless.

Alien_Queen: That's not right! Just because she doesn't have a Quirk doesn't make her less human!

Froppy: I know that feeling. People with Quirks like my family's get pushed under the rug a lot at my school-Kero.

Bunny_Bitch: Tell me where this girl lives and I'll kick her dad's ass myself!

[Moderator] Purple_Cat: No sharing personal information please, about you or anyone else. I really don't want to be held responsible for this kinda stuff.

RatBearDog: :)

[Moderator] Purple_Cat: Did anyone else just feel a shiver down their spine?

X

About a week later, Hanako was walking by Aoi's house, only to spot a swarm of National Police outside the apartment building, with some dragging Aoi's screaming dad into a police car. She spotted Aoi herself being talked to by Mirko and some plain looking detective, while some kind of animal in a business suit was cackling off to the side.

She decided, she did NOT want to know.

X

Aoi had been placed into a foster home under a woman who was a teacher at Yomawari Junior High. Luckily, the woman was very kind, and seemed to be making plans to adopt Aoi fully when she got the chance.

At school, a boy by the name of Shishimo suddenly started trying to befriend Aoi. Hanako didn't trust him, so she and Cthylla worked to steer Aoi away from him.

It ended with the two girls threatening him after he tried to lock Aoi on the school roof at the start of summer break.

He got the message.

X

"We've got a new student joining today." Yukionna Sensei spoke on the first day of the new school year. "She's been through a lot, so treat her kindly, not that most of you brats are gonna listen to me anyway." A young girl with black hair and violet eyes walked in, and Aoi gasped.

"My name is Ai Uzumaru, I'm in your care." The girl said with a polite bow.

X

It turned out that Aoi and Uzumaru-San were old friends, and we're both very happy to see each other again. It was honestly rare to see such a genuine smile on Aoi's face. Hanako was glad to have someone new in their little friend group. Apparently, Uzumaru-San's mom, who was the CEO of one of the country's largest pharmaceutical companies, as well as a member of the Yomawari School Board, was arrested after an investigation that started after Drakengard was shut down for corruption and child abuse. Somehow, All Might himself had even gotten involved in the case.

Strangely, one day, Hanako stumbled upon a strange bottle of pills in Ai's bag. Looking them up later, she discovered that the pills were in fact Quirk Suppressants.

Ai begged her to drop it, so she did, with great reluctance.

X

Junior High was pretty uneventful, most of the students there actually treated Aoi and Ai, the latter of whome insisted she was Quirkless despite evidence to the contrary, like actual human beings. They ended up adding a new person to their little friend group, Ochako Uraraka.

Honestly, the most eventful thing that happened was Hanako breaking her classmate Shinato's nose because he kept insisting Aoi was supposed to die in their third year, because 'his Quirk said so.'.

Oh look, first day of High School, and Aoi's still alive and well.

Also, she was pretty sure Aoi had a crush on Ochako. Ai agreed.

X

Hanako looked herself over in the mirror, admiring her U.A. uniform. She was currently in a nice apartment in Musutafu with Cthylla, Ochako, Aoi, and Ai. Their parents had all chipped in to get the girls an apartment together for their High School careers. Today was the first day of school, and Ochako was hoping to meet some plain looking boy who had saved her during the Hero Course entrance exam. When they got to school, the group split up, Ochako heading to Heroics, Cthylla and Ai heading to Business, and Hanako joining Aoi in General Education.

X

Within the first week, all hell broke loose.

First, there were rumors that a boy in the Hero Course was acting more like a villain, something people were becoming more aware of following the Drakengard scandal. Apparently, said boy even tried to outright murder one of his classmates during a combat exercise, and only got off with a slap on the wrist.

Then, there was a break in by the media, and just a couple of days after that, all of the students were informed that a group calling themselves the League Of Villains had attacked U.A.'s USJ facility, with the most substantial injuries being All Might and, surprisingly, the boy who had saved Ochako at the Entrance Exam.

School had let out for a few days to upgrade security, and soon, Hanako was sitting at the lunch table with everyone else when she heard Ochako's voice with someone else.

"I just don't know what I'm missing. I've been analyzing Quirks for over a decade..."

"Maybe you just need a more outside perspective, Dekiru-Kun. Oh, Hanako-San!" Ochako pulled a green haired, plain faced boy to their table. "This is Dekiru-Kun! We were wondering if you could help him with something involving his Quirk."

"Oh, hi, I'm Izuku Midoriya." The boy greeted, not trying to freak out about the fact that he was at a table full of cute girls.

"I'd be happy to help, but why me?" Hanako asked.

"Well, you and Cthylla-San are the smartest people I know, but Cthylla-San's not much of a talker." Hanako shrugged.

"I mean, I guess. We can meet in one of the gyms after school."

X

Apparently, Midoriya was an extremely late bloomer, and it showed. It didn't take long for Hanako to notice the issues in how Midoriya was using his Quirk.

"Wait, why are you pouring all of the energy into your arm?"

"H-huh?"

"You said you can use the energy from your Quirk throughout your whole body, so why are you pouring it all into your arm?"

"I uh..."

"Geez! No wonder you're destroying your body! Have you tried spreading the energy throughout your entire body?"

"I'm worried I might explode..."

"That's not really how it works. Here, look." Hanako pulled a bottle of glue, squirting a glob on her palm. "Okay, so, this is how you're using your power now. And this-" She started spreading the glue across her palm. "Is what you would get if you spread the power out. Notice the difference?"

"It thinned out." Midoriya responded, eyes wide in wonder.

"Exactly." Hanako said as she began running her hands together to get the glue off. "Another thing I noticed is that you only seem to activate your Quirk when you need it. If you do that, your reaction time is just gonna get slower and slower."

"So I should keep my Quirk constantly active!" Midoriya concentrated, and the energy spreading throughout his body transformed into green lightning. "It's like a cowl! Full Cowling!" Midoriya grinned, then he leapt, bouncing off the walls with incredible agility and speed as Ochako cheered. Hanako grinned.

The Sports Festival was gonna be fun.

X

"I just wanna say, I'm gonna win." Hanako frowned as all of the other students started booing that Bakugo prick. From what she gathered, he was in Midoriya and Uraraka's class, and seemed especially hostile towards Midoriya.

She was gonna enjoy putting that prick in his place.

X

It wasn't long into the obstacle course that Hanako witnessed something baffling. A short boy with purple balls on his head had used his Quirk to attach himself to another girl's back. From the clear distress on the girl's face, the boy was likely groping her.

"Hey jackass!" The purple ball boy looked in surprise as Hanako appeared next to him and the girl. "No means NO!" Hanako's fist slammed into the boy's jaw, sending him flying out of the bounds of the obstacle course with a crack. "You good?" Hanako asked the girl.

"Yes, thank you so much!" She said in relief. Hanako nodded and continued on, managing to place fourth because she was too amused watching Bakugo and that Todoroki kid squabble like a pair of toddlers.

X

"Midoriya! Let's team up!" Hanako chirped, dragging Cthylla over to where Midoriya and Ochako were.

"H-huh!? Are you sure!?"

"Absolutely! Me and Cthylla are able to grab headbands from a distance thanks to our Quirks. So we can come up with a plan!"

"A-alright! Let's do it!"

In the end, they were not only able to keep the ten million point headband safe, but also managed to knock out Team Monoma and Team Shoji. They ended with Midoriya in first place once again, to Bakugo's childish rage and Todoroki's frustration.

The look on Iida's face when she used her webs to plug his engine exhausts was also pretty funny too.

X

It was the first fight of the final round, pitting Midoriya against that purple haired kid from Class-C. He had managed to almost make Midoriya walk out of bounds with his Quirk, only for Midoriya to break free and throw the kid out of bounds easily.

The second fight was Hanako against a girl from 1-B, Shiozaki. The second the fight started, Shiozaki's vines lashed out at Hanako, only to easily be caught by Hanako's webs.

"Cute." More webs wrapped around Shiozaki's torso, flinging her out of bounds easily.

The Todoroki kid went WAY overboard in his match, note only freezing his poor opponent solid, but almost hitting the crowd. Midnight warned Todoroki he would be disqualified if he attacked that recklessly again.

Bakugo just barely won his match against Ochako. He had been so distracted with fury at Midoriya beating him in the first two rounds that he just barely noticed Ochako's meteor attack, taking some damage from it before he managed to blast the attack away. He only ended up winning after Ochako collapsed from exhaustion.

Cthylla was paired against some crazy chick from Support who insisted Cthylla use some support items she made. When it became clear that the Support girl was just using Cthylla as a glorified commercial, the tentacle girl just quietly walked out of bounds on her own volition.

The look on the Support girl's face was hilarious.

The second round began. Apparently, Midoriya hadn't told anyone he had managed to gain control over his Quirk, if the look of shock on Todoroki's face was anything to go by. The two were exchanged heated words that Hanako couldn't hear. Finally, Midoriya shouted something at Todoroki, and the boy suddenly erupted in flames. After an intense standoff, there was an explosion caused by Todoroki rapidly heating the cold air. Todoroki was blasted out of bounds, Midoriya just barely managing to hold on.

Then Hanako's match began. She was fighting Bakugo.

"You know, I've heard about you." Hanako said as Midnight counted them down. "From what I heard, you tried to murder Midoriya in class. A villain like you needs to be in prison, but your teacher's either grossly incompetent or a Quirkiest asshole. Maybe both."

"Hah!?" Bakugo snarled in rage. "What the fuck did you just say to me!?"

"BEGIN!" Hanako's webs shot out, latching onto the surprised Bakugo and flinging him out of bounds. Hanako was announced the winner. Bakugo flew into a fit of rage and tried to attack Hanako, only to be knocked out by Midnight's Quirk.

By the time the final round came, she was facing Midoriya.

After a pretty intense battle, Hanako was thrown out of bounds, and Midoriya had won the Festival in an overwhelming victory.

Overall, a pretty fun day.

Then more then half of the school was pissed off when they learned Bakugo had once again gotten off with a slap on the wrist.

X

It was late into the school year when Hanako ended up meeting Principal Nedzu.

As it turned out, he was in her chatroom. After she had talked about Aoi being abused, he had located her IP address, finding her identity and using that to determine Aoi's own identity. Apparently, Mirko had saved Aoi's life in her debut, so he asked the Rabbit Hero to accompany him.

Needless to say, Hanako was both impressed and scared.

Then she got over it and spoke her complaints about 1-A's teacher.

"First there's the fact he's not doing anything about Bakugo or that creep Mineta. My friends haven't gone a week without complaining about Mineta and how Eraserhead won't do anything. I mean, he was straight up groping Yaoyorozu during the Sports Festival, and then there was that stunt he pulled by tricking the 1-A girls into dressing as cheerleaders. And Bakugo, that guy should be in prison! He tried to attack me after our Sports Festival Match and he straight up tried to MURDER Izuku on the second day, but Eraserhead never punished either of them besides telling them to stop and 'Grow up'!"

"I see." Nedzu explained. "Eraserhead has told me he's been dealing with Bakugo and Mineta, but it seems that's not actually the case. Anything else?"

"Yeah, that Shinso kid from 1-C. Eraserhead's been prioritizing training him despite him not even being in his class. He's done more work for Shinso then he has for 1-A in the entire year!"

"I see. I had told Aizawa to stop doing things like this. This isn't the first time he's neglected his class in favor of a Gen Ed student. I will talk with 1-A and go from there. Thank you for bringing this to my attention."

By the end of the week, Eraserhead had been demoted to teaching assistant, with Nedzu bringing in Bubble Girl, one of Nighteye's old sidekicks before he died, to teach 1-A instead. Mineta had been expelled after Nedzu looked into all the sexual harassment complaints, and Bakugo had been placed into mandatory anger management with a bunch of community service, Nedzu threatening to have him thrown in prison if he didn't shape up.

X

Hanako had graduated from U.A. 5 years prior, and had taken up a job as an Elementary School Teacher. It was a pleasant surprise when Hanako and Ai learned they both wanted to be teachers, though everyone was surprised that Hanako had chosen an Elementary School, given her intelligence. Not that it mattered to her. Apparently, Hanako was one of the school's most beloved teachers. A lot had changed after the Final War against All For One and Shigaraki.

For starters, Ochako, Aoi, and Izuku all ended up together, and Aoi was late into pregnancy. Cthylla ended up with a boy named Shoji while Ai had gotten with Todoroki, the two bonding over their mutual domestic abuse experiences. Ai had even willingly allowed herself to be subjected to some kind of drug they collected from one of All For One's subordinates. Apparently, the Quirk Boogeyman had forced a Quirk onto Ai when she was little that caused a second personality to take over her body. That Shinso boy did manage to transfer to 1-A in their second year, even after Nedzu chewed Aizawa out for neglecting his students.

Bakugo had managed to finally chill the fuck out, and played an important roll in the fight against Shigaraki.

A little girl named Eri, who Izuku had saved from a Yakuza Raid, and whose DNA was used to make the Quirk destroying drug, was adopted into Izuku's family after she managed to gain good enough control over her Quirk, and after Hanako raised complaints about Aizawa being her caretaker when she was a ward of U.A.

Hanako had a brief fling with Mina Ashido, but they ended up amicably parting ways to focus on their differing careers choices.

And now, Hanako was sitting in a fancy restaurant. Somehow, Mina had tricked her into a blind date, and now she was waiting on said date to show up.

"Uh... LowerMoon5?"

"Yeah, that's m-" Hanako looked up, only to freeze as she realized who her blind date was.

Mira Akotone.

Well... This was awkward.

"So... All that shit you gave me for being gay in elementary school, and here we are." Hanako snarked. Mira's face went red.

"I... I realized I was Bi around the time I entered highschool." Mira said. "I... I can just leave if-"

"No, no, I already paid for the table." Hanako spoke up. "Please, sit." She did so, and they ordered their food and drinks. "You seem... Different Akotone."

"I... After my parents pulled me out of Drakengard, I started questioning myself, a lot. It turns out I'm dyslexic. My parents never had any reason to check because my grades were being tampered with. And my new school had a zero tolerance for bullying, so..."

"Yeah... Drakengard was just so toxic. Did you hear though? Apparently the school was being run by the Meta Liberation Army as some kind of Indoctrination Center."

"Yeah, I did hear that... They kept telling me that my Quirk was perfect for Heroics, and I honestly thought that was what I wanted to do... But then I got to thinking, and I realized that I liked making art." Hanako nodded, remembering that art was probably the only subject Mira was genuinely good at in Elementary School. "I'm a freelance artist now. The pay's shit, but I'm happy."

"That's good." Hanako said. A few moments of silence descended on them.

"... I'm sorry."

"Huh?"

"I was horrible to you back in Elementary School." Mira explained. "When I think back to it, I really wanted to be friends with you, but I guess the school's toxic environment had different plans."

"Mira, you have nothing to apologize for. We were kids. Young, impressionable kids. I mean, yeah, your actions were your own, but you realized what you were doing was wrong and you worked to change. As far as I'm concerned, you're already forgiven."

"Thank you..." Mira said with a soft smile. "There is... One other thing though. When I realized I was Bi, I realized something else too."

"Yeah?"

"I think... I had a crush on you back in Elementary School." Hanako's face went red as she took in Mira's words.

"...Oh..."

Overall, the date ended up being quite nice, and Hanako and Mira ended up exchanging phone numbers.

A year and a half later, and Hanako's dress was trailing along the floor as her dad walked her down the isle, a bright smile on her face as she took in her soon to be wife.

All of Hanako's friends and family were in attendance. The ones who knew of Mira were both weary and worried when they found out Hanako was in a relationship with her former bully, but they supported her, and eventually warmed up to Mira when they saw she had truly changed for the better (Though Cthylla didn't skimp on the opportunity to punch the girl when they first met up again.).

Overall, Hanako had a good life, and as she and Mira sealed their marriage with a kiss, she knew she wouldn't trade it for anything.

Notes:

"Huh, interesting." Ronri said was she observed the wedding with mild curiosity. She had gone into this universe at the point where Hanako's dad was supposed to die, having pushed the girl out of the alley, just to see what would change if the girl had been just a few seconds faster. She decided to go and change other events when she got the chance throughout her multiversal journey. Maybe she could even share some of her findings with the Izukus she came across.

He would be so proud of her!

Chapter Text

Mio Haji had always been a frail woman who suffered chronic health problems her whole life, a result of being born at only 26 weeks. Her mother’s side actually had a history of premature births. Honestly, the doctors wouldn’t say it, but you could tell they were surprised Mio didn’t keel over from the physical stress of childbirth.

Mio, on the other hand, was ecstatic that her baby girl, Aoi, was born healthy, and only two weeks before she was supposed to be due.

Sure, she was basically raising Aoi alone after finding out her Ex Husband had basically tricked Mio into a Quirk Marriage, which prompted her to divorce him on the spot and take custody of their daughter, but Mio did the best she could to raise Aoi, a quiet, timid girl, letting her know that she would always be loved.

One day, Aoi had brought a friend home.

Well, more like Ai Uzumaru just latched onto Aoi and followed her home like a lost puppy. But Ai was a sweet and gentle girl, and Mio enjoyed making the two kids snacks while they watched anime.

Then, a few months after Aoi turned four, the doctor had diagnosed her as Quirkless.

Those who didn’t know Aoi very well would think she took the news in stride.

Mio Haji and Ai Uzumaru noticed that Aoi seemed to retreat into herself a bit more.

Not helping matters was that Mio’s health had been spiraling around that time, but still, she did everything in her power to let Aoi know that she was loved, and that there would always be someone to love her, Quirk or no.

Eventually, her health had declined to the point that Mio had to be admitted to the hospital. Despite Mio’s protests, Aoi had been sent to stay with her father during that period.

She wanted her nowhere near that man.

During a couple of visits, she noticed Aoi trying and failing to hide bruises.

Now, let it be known that Mio was a kind, gentle woman who very rarely got angry.

When she got out of this hospital, she was going to rip off her Ex-Husband’s family jewels, shove them down his throat, and force him to watch the 4Kids Dub of One Piece while he choked on them.

During this time, apparently Ai had also been diagnosed Quirkless, and had moved away shortly after.

Aoi retreated into herself a bit more.

But, it would be okay.

Mio had made plenty of money due to her success as a writer. When she got out of here, she’d take her daughter and they’d move.

A fresh start.

Aoi deserved it.

Mio would give that girl the whole world if she could.

The camera feed turned to static.

The security guard blinked, leaning forward to change the camera. The others on that floor worked fine, with the sole exception of that one room.

He grabbed his radio.

“Anyone on the fourth floor? The camera in 419 just went out.”

X

The doctor threw open the door, and what he saw shocked him.

Mio Haji, whose condition had deteriorated to the point she couldn’t even stand, was currently doing just that, albeit weakly, looking up at the doctor in surprise.

“Haji-San, are you alright!?”

After a few moments, the woman smiled.

“Actually, I feel better than I have in years.”

“H-how!? How is that even possible!?”

“Didn’t one of your doctors do anything?” Mio asked, curious. “I don’t really remember the last few minutes. It’s kind of a fog.”

After a couple weeks to make sure the woman was fit to leave, Mio Haji was discharged from the hospital, and after dealing with her Ex-Husband, she took Aoi, packed up, and left Asahi.

She had found a cozy little apartment in Musutafu for them to live in. Bottom floor, as climbing stairs always took too much out of her. Thankfully the movers were more then understanding and were more then willing to help with moving the heavier furniture. When they had gotten mostly settled Mio sat in her office, a pair of school registration forms in front of her as she debated whether to send Aoi to Aldera or Musutafu Central. After a few moments of careful deliberation, she decided Aldera was a bit closer, so it would be more convenient. She reached for the registration form.

Said registration form promptly glowed with a green aura, before flying across the room and landing perfectly in the opening of the paper shredder, where it was promptly hacked to bits as Mio stared in confusion.

Well then.

Musutafu Central it is then.

X

Mio had decided to take Aoi out to explore their new home. The two of them had just stepped out the door when a green blur flew down the stairs nearby stairs and crashed into Aoi.

“Izuku!” A young woman who looked to be putting on a little weight gasped as she followed. “Izuku! You need to be careful!” She helped the boy stand before bowing at Mio. “I’m so sorry about that! We were on our way to buy him that new toy he wanted and I guess he got excited-“

“It’s all right.” Mio said gently, helping Aoi stand. “Accidents happen. Are you okay, Aoi?” Once they had managed to gather themselves, Mio glanced down at the boy, then did a double take.

He was wearing Quirkless Reds, just like Aoi.

…Oh.

X

Mio and Aoi ended up going with the two, where Mio and the mother, Inko, got to talking.

Just as she had suspected, Inko’s son, Izuku, was Quirkless as well. She had also learned that Izuku’s father, Hisashi, was a Quirk Analyst who worked abroad, but was still very supportive of his family.

It was good to know someone’s parents still cared about him, even if he didn’t have a Quirk.

Izuku had tried to make conversation with Aoi, but the little girl was to shy to say anything.

When they got to the toy store, Mio sat down on a bench outside to catch her breath. Aoi sat with her.

“What do you think of Izuku sweetie?” Mio asked as she used her hand to brush Aoi’s hair.

“He seems nice…” Aoi mumbled.

“I know he’s not Ai, but do you think you’d want to play with him again?” Aoi quietly nodded. Mio smiled.

X

“We have a new student joining us today.” Rokurokubi Sensei, a woman whose Quirk let her stretch her neck to inhuman lengths, spoke up. “Her name is Aoi Haji. Be nice to her… Or don’t. I don’t get paid enough to care.” Aoi stood in front of the class, stiffer than Tenya Iida in a back brace. “You can take the empty seat next to Jiro.” Aoi stiffly took her seat next to the bored looking girl with headphone jacks dangling from her ears. Jiro gave her a brief, curious glance.

X

Even if he wasn’t Ai, Aoi quickly found comfort in Izuku’s presence.

The boy was excitable when it came to Quirks and Heroes, something he apparently got from his father. Sometimes he would go off onto a mumbling spree that Aoi barely understood.

It was nice.

Though sometimes, she couldn’t help but worry when he came home bruised and burned. He wouldn’t elaborate on what happened though. He just always talked about this ‘Kacchan’ person like he was the second coming of All Might or something.

It worried Aoi.

X

“Hey, Haji, right?” Jiro asked one day, out of the blue. Aoi jumped with a squeak, but nodded.

“I noticed you were always writing stories in your notebook. Could you teach me some formatting?” Jiro asked.

And that was how Aoi made a new friend.

X

Aoi was 10 when she finally met ‘Kacchan’.

X

“It’s nice to finally meet you!” Mitsuki said brightly as she, Inko, and Mio were sat down for tea.

“You as well. Inko spoke highly of you.” Mio replied kindly, accepting the tea with grace.

“So you’re kid’s friends with little Izuku huh?” Mitsuki asked. “Good for him. I just don’t know what happened between him and my son Katsuki. The two used to be like brothers, but then Izuku stopped coming over and Katsuki always got frustrated whenever I brought him up.” She sighed. “Happened around the same time Katsuki got his Quirk and Izuku didn’t. I hope to god that didn’t have anything to do with it.” Mitsuki’s phone began to ring. “Sorry, hang on. Hello? …Yes, this is Mitsuki Bakugo… THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN MY SON’S BEEN ARRESTED!?”

X

X

X

“This goes beyond bullying you know.” Detective Tsukauchi sighed wearily. Sitting behind him was the Hero who had evidently brought Katsuki in. Nearby, Inko and Mio sat with Izuku and Aoi. Who had bandages to cover their burns and bruises. “As soon as young Katsuki started using his Quirk, it became Quirk based assault and illegal Quirk usuage. And given the nature of his Quirk, as well as the burns the victims have, it’s not looking good for your son.”

“This is bullshit!” Katsuki yelled.

“Shut the fuck up Katsuki!” Mitsuki snarled, looking angrier then he had ever seen her. “What the hell were you thinking!? Attacking Izuku and Aoi like that!?”

“I was teaching them their fucking place! They’re just a pair of Quirkless-“

“Boy.” To Mitsuki’s surprise, Katsuki actually clammed up as the Hero that brought him in, a more recent one going by the name Ninetails, stood up, looking far from amused.

She had a rather intimidating aura about her.

“The only reason you’re not being thrown in prison is because of your age.” She continued. “But even THAT becomes meaningless if you tread too far over the line, so I highly suggest you shut up and not dig yourself deeper.”

Katsuki promptly shut up.

Mitsuki was impressed.

“I feel I should mention…” Ninetails continued. “As I was restraining your son, he was shouting stuff about how ‘The adults never cared about me hurting that useless Deku before.’”

“I…” Mitsuki stuttered. “I never knew about this until today. If I had, you can bet your ass I would have put a stop to it!”

Ninetails turned to Tsukauchi.

“She’s telling the truth.” He sighed.

“So it’s probably their school.” She turned to Inko with a sigh. “I would highly recommend pulling your son out of that school district. They may not be above trying to pin this whole incident on him. I would also recommend limiting contact with Katsuki Bakugo.”

There was a moment of silence, then, Izuku spoke up.

“Um… Miss Ninetails, what are you doing in Musutafu anyway? Your agency is in Kyoto.” Suddenly, the woman looked pretty awkward.

“Oh, uh… I was… Buying some gifts, you know?” Inko saw the woman subtly use her foot to nudge a shopping bag out of sight. Said shopping bag was filled with toys designed for children whose Quirks gave them more animalistic tendencies and were therefore more durable than other toys.

Tsukauchi looked done for today as he spoke to Mitsuki. “Katsuki won’t be facing prison time, but he will be getting a criminal record. If something isn’t done about his behavior, getting into a good school will be the least of his worries.”

“I’ll talk to my husband when he gets home. Don’t worry.”

That was the last time in a long time that Izuku and Aoi would see Katsuki Bakugo.

X

“So you’re the boy Aoi’s always talking about huh?” Kyoka asked at lunch. It was her first time meeting Izuku, since he ended up being in a different class.

Aoi swueaked, hiding her reddening face.

Izuku blushed.

“I… That’s not… Wait, she talks about me?”

X

Izuku and Aoi were thirteen when Inko walked into Izuku’s room.

“Kids, is there anything you want for din-“ She looked up in time to see Izuku and Aoi leap back from each other, faces red, bodies stiffer the Eijiro Kirishima covered in cement.

It took barely a few seconds for Inko to put two and two together.

“MY BABY’S GROWING UUUUUP!!”

X

Izuku was fourteen when he and Aoi were attacked by the Sludge Villain.

He was fourteen when All Might came to their rescue.

He was fourteen when he decided to grab All Might’s leg and accidentally hitch a ride.

He was fourteen when he very nearly gave Aoi a heart attack by doing so.

“Can I be a Hero, even though I don’t have a Quirk?” Izuku asked the newly skeletal All Might.

The man paused. He gave the boy a quick look over. He had some muscle, so he was obviously putting in some effort.

But…

He was about to discourage the boy, tell him it was too dangerous, to try and find work as a police officer or a paramedic…

Then he saw the boy’s eyes.

There was a fire in his eyes that he hadn’t seen in a long time.

“Young man, why exactly do you want to be a Hero?”

“Because… I want to protect people. I want to be able to make people smile just from my presence, because they know they’ll be safe. But… Most of all, I want to prove to society that I’m actually worth something, even though I don’t have a Quirk.”

All Might felt a pant in his chest as he took in the boy’s words.

“Young man-“

A nearby explosion cut him off.

X

As it turned out, All Might had accidentally dropped the bottles he had used to contain the Sludge Villain when he jumped into the air. The Villain escaped and had taken a kid in an attempt to take over his body.

As Izuku pushed his way to the front of the crowd, he caught sight of the villain’s victim.

As he caught sight of the familiar, terror filled red eyes, Izuku’s body moved.

X

“That was completely reckless young man!” Death Arms practically shouted in Izuku’s face. After All Might had stepped in and cleared up the situation, a couple of Heroes on the scene had stepped up to reprimand Izuku for charging in. “We had the situation under control! You charging in like an idiot did nothing to help-“

“Shut the fuck up you second rate D-Lister.” All eyes and cameras promptly snapped towards Katsuki Bakugo, who had just been checked out by the paramedics and had been given some antibiotics.

Death Arms choked. “Excuse me!?”

“You think I didn’t see you fucking standing there with your head in the clouds?”

“I… My Quirk wasn’t suited for this situation! I was waiting for backup to arrive!”

“And that’s your excuse for standing around doing nothing? You didn’t even try to talk that sewer fucker down. You say Midoriya here did nothing to help? He threw his bag at the damn villain and got me a chance to fucking BREATH! Or did you not notice that my mouth and nose were fucking covered? This kid here did more than you idiots combined.” Bakugo turned to leave, only to stop and stare at Izuku.

“…Thanks.” And with that, Bakugo left, while Izuku stood there wondering what the fuck just happened.

X

In most universes, Aoi Haji would be far too timid to do much as get angry at an annoying fly.

However, this universe was not one of those cases. Though she still held onto some of her shyness and quietness.

Honestly, you’d be surprised at how removing years of constant abuse and demeaning, and replacing it with a loving home and supportive loved ones could do wonders for one’s confidence.

Case in point…

“WHAT WERE YOU THINKING YOU DUMMY!! DON’T DO STUFF LIKE THAT!!” Aoi practically wailed as she swatted Izuku on the head.

‘She hits so hard, even when she’s holding back.’ Izuku thought as he blinked the stars out of his eyes.

After apologizing profusely, Aoi huffed and calmed down. They took each other’s hand and began to make their way home-

“I AM HERE, INTERRUPTING THE NARRATION!” All Might called as he slid into view, only to turn into a skeleton with a puff of smoke and a bloody cough.

After an awkward moment of silence, Aoi quietly handed Izuku four thousand Yen.

“Er… What was that?” All Might asked.

“Izuku bet that your Quirk had a hidden transformation aspect and that was why you’re almost never seen outside of interviews and Hero work.” Aoi replied bluntly. All Might coughed again.

“Er… Yes… Well… My Quirk is actually why I’m here.”

He then proceeded to explain the nature of his Quirk, One For All. He told how it was a power stockpiling Quirk that could be transferred from one person to another, and that he wanted to offer the Quirk to Izuku.

“…I can’t.” Izuku answered, to both Aoi and All Might’s surprise. “I’m honored that you considered me, All Might… But… I feel that, if I accept your Quirk…”

“…You feel that accepting my Quirk will only prove the bigots right? That you’re useless without a Quirk?”

“H-how did you…”

“The truth is, I too was Quirkless before I inherited One For All.” All Might explained, shocking the two teens. “I felt I should offer you the Quirk, but deep down, I was hoping you’d reject it, because I know how it feels to look down on. Young man, let me extend another offer to you. If you won’t take my Quirk, then allow me to train you, so that you can succeed where I failed, in proving to this bigoted country that Quirkless doesn’t mean worthless.”

“…”

“Young man?”

Izuku fainted.

“Oh god dammit!”

X

In the end, Izuku agreed to All Might’s offer of training, though on the condition that he train Kyoka as well. All Might agreed once they explained that she was surprisingly good at keeping secrets.

And that’s how Izuku and Kyoka began cleaning Takoba Beach, usually with Aoi sitting in.

A couple of months in, All Might have them some news.

“I found someone willing to accept One For All.” He explained. You don’t mind training with him, do you?”

“Of course!” Izuku answered excitedly. “I can’t wait to meet him!”

The next day, All Might showed up with a large, six armed boy, who went by the name Mezo Shoji. Shoji was a fairly quiet boy, but Izuku, Aoi, and Kyoka quickly befriended him. Eventually, Mezo got comfortable enough to show them his scars, given to him by his Quirkest hometown after he saved a young girl from drowning. He explained that he wore his mask so that people wouldn’t think he was trying to be a hero out of spite.

After a few more months, the beach was cleared, and All Might gave One For All to Mezo.

Though everyone was a little put off by how nonchalantly Mezo ate All Might’s hair.

The first time Mezo used One For All, he had blown his arm into chunks. Luckily, he could regenerate his limbs, with the boost from One For All even speeding up the process. But it was clear that Mezo would need teaching All Might couldn’t provide. With some prodding, as well as a few subtle threats from Recovery Girl, All Might had contacted his old teacher, Gran Torino.

With the old man’s teaching, Mezo was able to develop the Octo Cloak technique, and was able to use five percent of One For All’s power by the time of the entrance exams.

X

“Tell me young man.” Nedzu chirped. Sat across from him was none other than Katsuki Bakugo, who Nedzu had pulled aside before the entrance exam. Nearby was Tsukauchi. “Given that you have a criminal record for Quirk based assault, why should I allow you to take the U.A. Entrance Exam?”

“…I’m trying to be better.” Katsuki explained. “I’ve been taking anger management classes, and I transferred to a new district before Aldera got shit canned. I… I know I fucked up. I can’t change that. But I want to at least atone for my fuck ups.” He bowed his head. “I’m begging you to give me a chance.” Nedzu’s eyes flickered to Tsukauchi, who nodded.

Nedzu smiled.

“Good answer.”

X

Izuku had passed the entrance exam. Thankfully, U.A. Allowed him to bring in support gear if he got it registered.

He got 14 Villain Points. Not enough to get into the Hero Course, but the 72 Rescue Points he got from helping out other examinees, as well as his daring rescue of that girl who was about to be crushed by the Zero Pointer, netting him a total of 86 points and getting him second place, behind Bakugo, who got 73 Villain Points and 15 Rescue Points, for 88 points total.

Aoi had also passed the Gen Ed exam.

It was going to be great!

X

X

X

X

“Aizawa…” Nedzu sighed, feeling a headache coming on. All Might stood near the back of the room, having had to bring the teacher to Nedzu’s office. “How the hell did you manage to make your entire class revolt in just the first day?”

“I was trying to expel Izuku Midoriya.” Aizawa scoffed. “The boy has no potential. Then Bakugo started to complain, then pretty much the rest of the class save for Todoroki started rioting. It’s completely illogical.”

“Don’t give me that bullshit Aizawa!” All Might snapped. “‘No potential?’ I was watching that Quitk Assessment Test. Young Midoriya was nowhere near last place. You sabotaged his placement so you’d have an excuse to expel him! Furthermore, despite your claims that you would expel anyone who didn’t give it their all, you didn’t so much as glance at Todoroki, despite limiting himself to only half his Quirk. Let’s not forget that you didn’t even acknowledge Mineta’s unwanted advances toward his female classmates. You were targeting targeting Midoriya from the beginning, not to mention violating student confidentiality and Midoriya’s right to privacy when you outed his Quirklessness in front of the whole class!”

“Without a Quirk he’ll only be a liability. Not to mention that support items can break at the worst possible time. The boy needs to face reality-“

“Reality!? Please! You’re such a fucking hypocrite! Your Quirk has absolutely no effect on Mutant Type Quirks, so you’re essentially fighting them Quirkless! On top of that, your Quirk has no actual combat capabilities, and your fighting style is heavily reliant on that damn scarf of yours!”

“I lost my best friend during my time here at U.A.. I’m not going to send any more children out to what is pretty much a guaranteed death-“

“So you admit you’re using past trauma as an excuse to ruin student’s lives!?”

“I’m not ruining their lives.”

Nedzu cleared his throat. The two men looked at him.

“Is that so, Aizawa? In that case, I have an assignment for you. You are to go and check up on every single student you’ve ever expelled during your time teaching at U.A.. See how they’re fairing. In the meantime, I will be revoking your ability to expel students on a whim, and Izuku Midoriya’s expulsion is officially void. Do not worry, I already have a suitable substitute in mind.”

X

“Alright chuckle fucks! I’m going to be subbing your class for the time being!” Mirko cackled. “Now, get your gym clothes on! You’re all going to fight me!”

There was a moment of silence.

“I like this one.” Bakugo spoke up.

X

The next day, All Might did Battle Trials.

The result was Shoto Todoroki sitting across from Nedzu.

“Young man… Exactly what were you thinking just now?”

“I was winning.”

“Need I remind you that this was a training exercise. That little desperation attack of yours, which I should point out, you used against All Might’s orders, severely injured several students and would have killed Tsuyu Asui had Katsuki Bakugo not used his gauntlets.”

“It’s not my fault they couldn’t handle it.”

“Is that so?” Todoroki promptly discovered that Nedzu was NOT a mammal you wanted to piss off.

X

A few weeks later, after the absolute hell that was a group of Villains attacking the USJ, Aizawa returned to the school with a broken jaw, a black eye, and several bruises. Maybe a broken rib or two.

He quietly handed in his resignation and left. Mirko was made the permanent 1-A Homeroom Teacher.

X

“So this is the class that fought villains, huh? Gotta say, I’m not impressed.” Izuku blinked at the sight of the purple haired boy.

“I’m… Sorry you feel that way?” Izuku tried. The boy gave him an unamused look.

“And YOU must be the Quirkless kid everyone’s talking about. How the hell you managed to cheat your way into the Hero Course is beyond me.”

“Dude! The hell!? That’s so unmanly!” Kirishima snapped as he walked up to the crowd. “Midoriya earned his place in the Hero Course! Hell, it was because of him we were able to take down that All Might killer using Kaminari and Yaomomo’s Quirks!”

“Just so you know, a lot of us Gen Ed kids tried out for the Hero Course but got passed over thanks to that biased exam. However, we have another chance. We do well enough in the Sports Festival, we can be transferred into the Hero Course. But I guess that means one of you will have to transfer out.” Izuku looked the boy over.

“Let’s see, not much muscle, probably poor endurance, acts like an entitled ass.”

“What are you-“

“Let me guess, You went into the Entrance Exam hoping to skate by solely on your Quirk, but it ended up being completely useless against the robots. You probably just gave up without even trying. The rest of us, we trained our asses off to get in, both our bodies and our Quirks, because we knew that relying on one trick was just gonna get us killed. Even Hagakure, whose Quirk has no combat capabilities, is taking MMA classes. You don’t just get to laze around doing nothing then complain when things don’t go your way. Nedzu isn’t going to let someone into the Hero Course if they’re not going to put in any effort towards it. You want our seats so bad? PROVE THAT YOU DESERVE THEM!” And with that, Izuku pushed his way through the crowd. “I’m late for lunch with my girlfriend.”

“Hey!” A silver haired boy yelled as he pushed through the crowd. “I’m Tetsutetsu from 1-B next door, and I-“

“Wait, Midoriya has a girlfriend!?” Uraraka asked, looking like she was going through a crisis.

“Oh, yeah, Aoi, she’s in 1-E.” Kyoka explained.

“H-hey! Don’t ignore-“

“THAT’S SO UNFAIR!” Mineta wailed. “HOW DOES MIDORIYA GET A CHICK BEFORE I DO!?” Tsuyu swatted him with her tongue.

“Eee! Let’s go! I wanna meet her!” Mina squealed as she shoved through the crowd. The rest of 1-A followed, not even paying attention to the confused crowd anymore.

X

“Midoriya, statistically speaking, Shoji and I are the strongest in class, perhaps even in our whole year.”

“…Ok?”

“Despite that, the class views you as enough of a leader to vote you Class Representative. Even Bakugo respects you.”

“Power has nothing to do with leadership Todoroki.”

“Regardless, I will defeat you. Consider this my declaration of war.”

“…Bitch, fuck the fuck off.”

“Excuse me?”

“You don’t GET to declare war when you’ve done nothing but half ass your way through school this whole time using only your ice. And don’t think we aren’t aware that you’re on thin ice already after that stunt you pulled during the Battle Trials.”

“I will never use my father’s Quirk in battle!”

“Todoroki, for god sakes, it’s YOUR Quirk, not his!

“…”

“Todoroki?”

“…”

“Uh, guys?”

“Is he broken?”

“Should we get Recovery Gir-“

Todoroki burst into flames.

X

“And now, to give the Student Pledge, Katsuki Bakugo!” The crowd cheered as Bakugo took the microphone.

“…Fuck all of you.” The crowd abruptly went silent, staring in disbelief as Midnight blanched. “Is this really entertainment for you people? Watching a bunch of kids beat the shit out of each other on live TV like some kind of discount Hunger Games? We don’t even get any kind of compensation for this. They just thrust us into a weeklong training session so we can learn how to beat each other up even more effectively next time. How many of you are Heroes again?” There was an uncomfortable silence. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”

In his office, Nedzu cackled hysterically as he put the pissed off HPSC President on hold.

X

“Too many people…” Aoi whimpered from the third place podium alongside Bakugo. Standing on the second place podium was Shoto, who had willingly forfeited his match after Izuku told him it would seriously piss off Endeavor.

Judging by the amount of fire in the crowd, it worked.

In first place was Shoji.

Overall, it was pretty good.

X

“You’ve been reprimand several times since the beginning of the school year for antagonizing other students, especially Aoi Haji from 1-E. You did not even attempt to earn a single point during the Entrance Exam, instead turning and leaving the Exam Site almost immediately while complaining that the Exam was extremely biased. You have shown a blatant unwillingness to actually put any effort into try and be a Hero, instead seeming content to try and breeze through relying solely on your Quirk, a mindset that has gotten many Heroes killed in the past. And while I understand that antagonizing your opponents is so you can get a response and use your Quirk on them, quite a few of the things you said to Aoi Haji and Izuku Midoriya crossed the line straight into discrimination. So tell me, Hitoshi Shinso, why should I authorize your transfer to the Hero Course?”

“My Quirk could be really useful in Heroics! I can stop a hostage situation almost immediately!”

“That is true, but it does not excuse your behavior. And, again, over reliance on your Quirk is liable to get you killed. Why exactly do you want to be a Hero?”

“I was bullied for my so called ‘Villainous Quirk’, so-“

“You have my condolences, but spite is not a very good excuse for being a Hero.”

“And what about Todoroki!? He’s been half asking his way through the Hero Course this whole time!”

“Shoto Todoroki’s reason for not using his full power stems from psychological and emotional trauma. And he had already been warned he would be booted from the Hero Course if he didn’t start using his full power by the end of the Trimester. Thanks to Izuku Midoriya, that is no longer an issue. You, on the other hand, are just lazy.”

“…”

“Your request to transfer to the Hero Course is denied. Please leave my office.”

X

“I’m the Bunny Hero: Usagi!” Izuku proclaimed triumphantly.

“Oh, that’s interesting. Any reason?” Midnight asked. Izuku sighed.

“It’s kind of personal.” He was most certainly NOT going to tell the class that Aoi compares him to a bunny, and even calls him Bunny-Kun in private.

Though to be fair, he calls her Bluejay.

“Very well, approved!”

X

“The Acid Hero: Alien Queen!”

“Absolutely not!”

“Why not!? You let Aoyama use his ridiculous name!”

“That stings ma cherie…”

“Hey, yeah, what’s up with the inconsistent taste in names Sensei? That doesn’t seem very fair.”

“Yeah, Alien Queen is actually pretty cool.”

“Y-you know what, fine. You can use that name Ashido.”

“Yay!”

X

“Ground Zero. I had other names but Midoriya kept telling me they were really immature and no one would take me seriously… Besides maybe Glasses, but he takes everything seriously.”

“Approved.”

X

X

X

“You didn’t get many offers.” Uraraka noted as she looked at Izuku’s list.

“To be fair, he did lose his match against Todoroki pretty quickly.” Ojiro noted.

“Without my support gear, I didn’t really have much of a chance of beating Todoroki. I’m surprised he didn’t use his fire though.”

“I wanted to end the match quickly because I wasn’t sure what you were going to do.” Todoroki explained.

“I’ll take that as a compliment” Izuku responded as he looked over his list. “These are some pretty good Agencies though. It’ll be hard to decide…”

X

X

X

X

“Shoji-Kun! Whatever are you doing here? You’re supposed to be doing your internship.” Nedzu exclaimed in surprise.

“Well, Sir Nighteye just sat me down, told me I wasn’t worthy of All Might’s Quirk, then tried to browbeat me into giving it to Mirio Togata.” Shoji said nonchalantly. “I figured that if he wasn’t going to teach me anything, I may as well just leave.”

“…I see. Well, All Might had hoped that internship offer from Nighteye was an attempt at reconciliation, but that is apparently not the case. I’ll see about getting one of the teachers to take you on as an intern. And don’t worry about Nighteye. All Might, Gran Torino and I will deal with him.”

X

X

X

It was shortly after Internships, during which there was a massive attack, and that Aoi got a call from U.A. Asking her to come in urgently.

She was not prepared for what was in store for her.

“Ai-Chan!?” Was all Aoi could get out at the sight of her childhood friend laying in one of Recovery Girl’s hospital beds, a Quirk Suppressing Cuff around her wrist.

“Aoi…” The girl whimpered. “Help me…”

X

“Is this him?” All Might asked as they looked at the picture of Dr. Garaki.

“Yes, this is the man Uzumaru-San claimed was working for All For One when he forced that Quirk onto her.” Tsukauchi confirmed. “She says he tried to hide his face, but she managed to catch a glimpse of it. She’s absolutely positive it’s the same man.”

“Dr. Garaki is the head of Jaku General Hospital.” Nedzu spoke up. “Officially, he’s Quirkless, but considering he’s in a good position to alter medical records on a whim, we should take that with a grain of salt.”

“We’ve also taken note of a bar in Kamino Ward with suspicious activity, after some of the students claim to have heard Shigaraki say something about a bar during the USJ attack. We’re putting together a team to raid it.”

“There’s something else.” Nedzu supplied. “If All For One is still alive but hasn’t revealed himself, then it’s likely he’s in serious condition due to his battle with All Might. Likely serious enough to warrant consent medical attention.”

“So he’s likely at Jaku, or at least close enough for Garaki to take care of him.” All Might concluded. “It’s in a well populated area. I don’t think I can just rush in like last time.”

“Don’t worry. I have a plan.” Nedzu stated.

X

X

X

X

Tomura was frustrated, that was for certain.

First, those U.A. Brats took down his All Might Killer with a bunch of lightning rods and some electrical Quirk before All Might had even arrived!

Then, his perfect attack on Hosu was undermined by the fucking Hero Killer!

Now, Giran had brought in a pair of idiots who were spouting nonsense about Stain’s ideals!

He was going to-

{KUROGIRI!!} The Doctor’s voice came over the monitor. {Take Tomura and run! The Heroes are here! We don’t have much-} There was a crash in the background.

{What’s up Doc!?} Mirko’s voice could be heard. Garaki’s screams were cut off by the monitor going dead.

Before anyone could react, a red thread flickered through the air, and Kurogiri went limp.

Then the wall exploded.

“Lacquered Chain Prison!” Everyone in the room was wrapped in branches. Dabi tried to burn them, only for a yellow blur to strike him in the face, knocking him out.

“Well, look what we got here.” A short old man stated. “The League of Villains, a pair of serial killers, and an underground broker. We’ve hit the jackpot.”

X

“How did you find me!?” All For One demanded as he and All Might engaged each other.

“Ai Uzumaru! Ring a bell!?” All Might retorted. All For One growled.

“I will deal with her after I bury you. Then, I’ll go after that little successor of yours! What was his name? Mezo Shoji?” All Might just laughed.

“You wish! I didn’t come alone this time!” Before All For One could respond, his body seized up as he felt his Quirks disappear.

“E…Raser…” All For One barely managed to get out before All Might’s massive fist slammed into his face.

“UNITED STATES OF SMASH!!” A tornado of dust and debris kicked up. By the time it died down, All Might was standing over All For One, out of breath and running on steam. All For One’s body, already over 200 years old, had been horribly stressed by Erasure and All Might’s attack. Before the Symbol of Peace’s eyes, the Symbol of Evil began crumbling to dust, his reign of terror ended once and for all.

X

X

X

“I can barely use my Quirk for thirty minutes now.” All Might sighed. “I think… Maybe, it’s time for me to step back and retire. I can focus more on teaching the students.”

“That may be for the best.” Nedzu spoke up.

“But what about young Uzumaru?” All Might questioned. “Are we just gonna leave the poor girl on Quirk Suppressants for the rest of her life?”

“What other choice do we have?” Recovery Girl asked. “She’s terrified of that other personality the Quirk forced on her. She says she can feel its rage in the back of her mind. Quirk Suppressants are really our only option. It’s not like there’s some kind of drug that can permanently destroy someone’s Quirk.”

WARNING: LEVEL 3 SECURITY BREACH IN PROGRESS.

And that was how the teachers found themselves sitting across from Izuku Midoriya.

In the green haired boy’s arms was a little girl with messy white hair, red eyes, as small horn on her forehead, and bandages around her arms and legs. She was clutching to Izuku like a lifeline.

After a few awkward minutes, Izuku spoke.

“I kicked a Yakuza leader in the dick.”

Notes:

-Let it be known that Bakugo was a young child. He would not have been as intimidated by Ninetails were he his fifteen year old arrogant asshole self.

-A plot concept that was originally going to be in New Game Plus but was scrapped was that Ai was going to face Shinso in the Sports Festival. Shinso, not knowing the details of Ai’s backstory, would use his Quirk on her, reminding her of the period she spent trapped in her own body as Hirikone and causing her to have a severe panic attack. She would have been terrified of Shinso from then on. This was scrapped for a variety of reasons.

- Another scrapped plot concept was that Ronri was originally going to be the Eri from the original beta universe, where Izuku was Mikumo Akitani and Uraraka and Mount Lady were the same person. This was also scrapped for several reasons.

-Updated List Of Things Ronri Is Terrified Of:

* Hospitals.

* Doctors.

* Star And Stripe.

* Making Izuku Angry.

Chapter 3: What If…: Ninetails was 1-A’s homeroom teacher: Part 1.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“Hello! Am I a dog, a bear, a mouse-“ Nedzu was cut off by a throwing knife embedding itself into the wall next to him.

“In case you haven’t heard, I’m currently in the middle of something.” Ona seethed. “So either say your piece or leave.”

“Ah yes, the Commission has set their eyes on your daughter.” The air suddenly grew tense.

“I suggest you choose your words carefully you damn Stout.” Ona spoke venomously.

“Now now, none of that.” Nedzu’s mouth twitched the moment she called him a Stout. “I’ve actually come to offer my assistance. You see, the Prime Minister owes me a few… Favors. All it will take is a phone call and the commission will be off your back.”

“And what’s going in it for you?” Ona demanded.

“Straight to the point I see! You’ve heard of U.A.’s recent… Scandal, correct?”

Ah, that.

An anonymous source had leaked quite a few of U.A.’s sensitive files, revealing, among many other things, that the homeroom teacher for 1-A had a habit of arbitrarily expelling his students for not meeting his personal standards, most of them on the first day of class!

Her brother Kyojiro had gotten put on the case from what she heard.

“Due to said scandal, Eraserhead has been stripped of his teaching license. Because of this, U.A. is in need of a new teacher.”

“…My sister Satoko is the one with the teaching license, not me. She’s also a Pro Hero, so she meets the qualifications to teach at U.A.” Japan had strict laws that made it so that only Licensed/retired Pro Heroes could work at Hero School.

“True, but she’s not having trouble with the Commission, now is she? As for a teaching license, we have ways to fast track you through that process.”

“Why me exactly? What the hell do you have to gain out of this?” Ona demanded.

“You are a highly competent Hero. Number 122 in the rankings, yet you are not well heard of since you don’t focus on popularity, unlike most Heroes these days.”

“I don’t care much for popularity, and that doesn’t answer my question.”

“Can I not simply do something out of the kindness of my-“ Ona gave him a LOOK.

“…Your brother said he would let me keep my position as principal if I helped you out.”

“That’s what I thought.”

Nedzu had kept his word, something President Bitch wasn’t happy about, but couldn’t really do anything about since now the Government was breathing down the HPSC’s neck. After fast tracking her through a teaching program, with the promise that she would be able to take more supplementary classes to catch up to her new colleagues, she was introduced to the U.A. Staff.

Midnight seemed pleased to have another girl on staff, Present Mic seemed to be in a bit of a huff, apparently the previous 1-A teacher is his best friend. Vlad King tried to give her some crap about the ‘Fated Rivalry Between Class A and B’.

Ona shut that down REAL quick.

Ever since that day, Vlad was unable to meet her gaze.

The rest of the staff welcomed her warmly.

She spent the next couple of days getting acquainted, before Nedzu finally introduced her to her new class.

“Due to recent… Events… Eraserhead is no longer teaching at this school.” Nedzu explained to the class.

The full class.

The Ministry of Education had meticulously gone through every single expulsion U.A. had made during Nedzu’s tenure as Principal, not just the ones made by Eraserhead.

Every single one they deemed unlawful and made without just cause was voided, and the black marks that came from the expulsions were removed from the student’s records.

They had also forced U.A. to issue a formal apology to all the expelled students, and some families who were made worse off by the expulsions were gifted heavy compensation.

But back to the story. The students looked at Ona with a wariness she couldn’t exactly blame them for.

She did roll call before the students acted.

“Are you gonna expel us?” One student bravely asked.

“Have you done something worth expelling?” Ona asked.

“Er… Well, Aizawa said I wasn’t giving my all when I did the Quirk Assessment Test…”

“That’s not an expulsion worthy offense, especially so early in the year. Now, if you were to flat out REFUSE to put all of your effort into your learning, then we would have a problem. I refuse to waste my time with someone who insists on half assing their way through life. Understand?” The class nodded. “Good. Now then, let’s go through… What the fuck is this?” She looked through the lesson planner at what Aizawa had been planning for the first term.

What she saw did not amuse her in the slightest.

Surprise tests for subjects the students hadn’t even covered, which he apparently called ‘logical ruses’, plans to pair together students who didn’t work well together with the intention of having them work it out on their own…

And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Seriously, how the fuck was this guy able to get away with this shit for so long!?

“Right, well, this is useless.” Ona said as she tossed the planner in the trash. “Class Rep?”

“Here Sensei!” The Class Rep called.

“What were you going over before your previous teacher was canned?”

“Uh… I think it was Hero Etiquette.”

“Right, we’ll start from there.” Ona responded.

She would have to work on completely redoing the lesson plan.

X

Over the next few years, Ona managed to settle into her unexpected role of being a U.A. Teacher. Her brother had gotten Nedzu cowed, so many things had been changed at U.A.. For starters, the Hero Course Entrance Exam had been changed to not be as biased towards flashy, destructive Quirks while also encouraging teamwork. The Rescue Points had remained as a hidden point system, since Nedzu did actually raise a good point about how keeping Rescue Points a secret helped to better judge a person’s true nature.

He had also mandated more in depth looks at student files for any red flags that might pop up, noting how lax U.A. had been in selecting their students, seeming to act like anyone who passed the Entrance Exam was good enough just because they got a decent score. Furthermore, the teachers were now required to keep a better eye on students during the exam, so as to note any problematic behavior.

So far, everything seemed good.

X

X

“We have a new colleague joining our ranks!” Nedzu chirped after he had gathered all of the teachers into the lounge. Standing next to him was All Might, the biggest ham in all of Japan. “Granted, he’s not joining right away. He still has some classes to complete, but he should be ready to join the U.A. staff as our new Foundational Heroics Teacher by the start of the next school year!”

“I take it there’s a reason you’re informing us of this so far in advance.” Ona huffed. “Besides telling us to keep this a secret from the Media.”

“She’s got a point. What’s this really about Nedzu.” Vlad asked. There was a moment of silence before Nedzu nodded towards All Might. There was a burst of smoke as everyone gasped, and a tall, emaciated man took All Might’s place.

“…You don’t seem all that surprised young Ayumi, more annoyed.” All Might stated.

“I had a bet with my sister about whether or not your lack of presence outside Heroics meant you had a transformation aspect to your Quirk. Now I owe her 7,000 Yen.”

All Might stated at her in disbelief before letting out a wet cough. “Actually, I didn’t always look like this. In fact, the muscle form you’re all more familiar with is more in line with what I used to look like. This is kept under wraps, but since we’re going to be colleagues, it will be impossible to keep this a secret from you all. About five years ago, I got into a fight with a Villain whose power was unlike anything anyone had seen before. I managed to beat him, but in the process I lost a lung and most of my stomach. Because of that, I can only use my Quirk and maintain my muscle form for about three hours a day now, and that time is unfortunately getting shorter.”

“If your time limit is getting shorter, then that means that at some point you’re not going to be able to fight at all, right?” Thirteen asked. “I guess it makes sense why you’d want to get a job teaching here. Something to fall back on when you’re forced to retire.”

All Might nodded solemnly, though Ona felt there was something he wasn’t telling them.

She probably wouldn’t get those answers out of him, so she focused on other questions.

“To be powerful enough to injure even you so severely. Who exactly was this Villain you fought?”

“You must keep this to yourselves, but, it was a villain very few unconnected to the criminal underworld know about. A man so evil he earned the nickname of the Bogeyman.”

“Wait, are you talking about All For One?”” Ona asked. All Might spewed blood in shock while everyone looked confused, except for Midnight, who looked thoughtful.

“All For One? Why does that name seem familiar?”

“HOW DO YOU TWO KNOW THAT NAME!?” All Might yelped.

“All Might, Midnight and I are Twilight Heroes.” Ona huffed. “That means that we work in both the Spotlight and Underground side of Heroics. We HEAR THINGS.”

“Oh… Er… Yes. I suppose that… Makes sense…”

“Who’s All For One?” Present Mic asked.

“The undisputed king of the Underworld.” Ona sighed. “Most of what’s known about him is rumors, but the most prevalent one is that he’s a first Generation Quirk user with the power to steal others people’s Quirks.”

“The only rumor that’s true I’m afraid.” All Might sighed. “But, I managed to put him down for good five years ago.”

“Are you sure?” Ona asked. All Might blinked.

“Er… What-“

“Are you absolutely sure you killed him? With the ability to take Quirks I can imagine he would have one or two that could have allowed him to survive.”

“I pummeled his skull until his brain was leaking between my fingers.” All Might said bluntly.

“Did you manage to recover the body?”

There was a long silence as realization slowly dawned on All Might’s face.

“FUUUUUUUUU-“

“Well, All Might’s an idiot.” Ona sighed, punching the bridge of her nose.

X

“Ah! Young Midoriya! Listen, do you remember how I told you about that villain who was powerful enough to injure me so badly? So… There’s a very good chance he might still be alive… Nonono don’t panic! Don’t worry young Midoriya! I still very much intend to pass One For All onto you! It’s just that with this new information, we’ll have to make some changes to your training. Meet me at the beach tomorrow at the same time. I’m going to give a call to my old teacher. He knows about One For All, and he may be able to help train you better than I can. Ok… Very well, see you tomorrow.” All Might sighed as he hung up, before reluctantly scrolling through his contacts and placing another call.

“Gran Torino? Sir? It’s All Might… All Might! …No, All Mig- Yes it’s Toshinori, I- FOR GOD SAKES I FOUND A SUCCESSOR!” All Might winced as he was promptly chastised for not saying that sooner. “I uh… I guess this is a bad time to tell you that All For One is probably still alive?”

The chastising promptly turned into yelling.

X

“I don’t know Onii-Chan.” Ona sighed as she and Kyojiro looked over two files before them. They were currently sat within Kyojiro’s living room. “Something about these files just runs me the wrong way.”

“I can see what you mean.” Kyojiro sighed. The files were of two applications for U.A.’s Hero Course. Both from the same school, and both as total opposites. Normally, that wouldn’t be an issue, but…

“Katsuki Bakugo, Quirk: Explosion. Listed as an outstanding student with high potential and is regarded by his teachers with high praise.” Ona noted. “On the other hand, Izuku Midoriya is labeled as Quirkless and has enough disciplinary write-ups to have his own personal filing cabinet. Normally, it would be pretty cut and dry, but given society’s view on Quirk status. And Bakugo’s record to spotless, it just doesn’t seem right.”

“I guess keep an eye on them during the Entrance Exams next week and see if their behavior matches their files.” Kyojiro sighed. “But even Bakugo exhibits troubling behavior, his file is still unfortunately spotless, so unless he royally fucks up during the Entrance Exam, we can’t really stop him if he passes. … Ah well, no point in worrying about it now. You guys staying for dinner?”

“Might as well.” Ona mused. “Hikari and Yuri seem to enjoy playing with Ara. Best not to end their fun too early.”

X

X

X

X

“The Entrance Exam was a few days ago, yes?” Kyojiro asked as Ona sat across from him in his office.

“Yes. We spent the past couple of days going over the scores. Unfortunately it seems our concerns were pretty accurate. Bakugo exhibited some pretty troubling behavior during the Entrance Exam.”

“Oh boy.” Kyojiro responded sarcastically.

“The boy was overly aggressive during the whole Exam, letting loose like a complete lunatic. I even heard him shouting threats at some of the other Examinees. Luckily he didn’t attack them. Would have booted him out the doors myself if he had. The most troubling bit is that he didn’t earn a single Rescue Point, which, according to Nedzu, you have to pretty much go out of your way to NOT help anyone in order to accomplish.”

“And Midoriya?”

“Ran around the exam panicking the whole time. I know the Exam was reformed to be fairer towards less destructive Quirks, what with the edition of more point types, but the boy still didn’t manage to get many Villain Points. The weirdest part was that he was using a Quirk.”

“His file lists him as Quirkless.”

“I know. And it’s odd, he seemed completely inexperienced with his Quirk. Not in the way untrained Hero Students usually are, but more like he had only just gotten the Quirk and had just recently learned how to use it. He even shattered his arm and both legs taking out the Zero Pointer, so he obviously can’t use his Quirk’s full power without injuring himself.”

“Possible late bloomer?”

“He’ll be in my class, so I’ll know when Nedzu hands over his medical files. Unfortunately, Bakugo will be in my class too. I don’t like this. Those two clearly have a history together besides just going to the same school.”

“Does he HAVE to be in your class?”

“Vlad refused to take him. He already got a loud arrogant blond for his batch this year from what I heard.”

“Well crap. I did some digging on Bakugo’s Junior High, Aldera. So far, I’m not liking what I’m seeing. Keep an eye on the boy.”

X

Ona could already feel a headache coming on as made her way towards her classroom. Her new batch of students should already be there, though she was willing to be lenient with tardiness since it was their first day in a new school. As she came upon the classroom, she spotted one of her new students, Uraraka, chatting excitedly with Midoriya.

“I would ask that you not block the door.” Ona spoke up, startling Uraraka as Midoriya practically had stars in his eyes the second he laid eyes on Ona.

‘Oh joy. Hero nerd.’ Ona mentally sighed.

“Please take your seats, there will be plenty of time for friendly chatting later.” As the students scrambled to their seats, Ona took a look at the classroom, already feeling a headache coming on at the sight of Bakugo with his feet on his desk like he owned the place.

“Bakugo, feet off the desk now.” She ordered. Bakugo let out a ‘Tch’ and a sneer as he begrudgingly did as he was told.

For some reason, Tenya Iida looked vindicated.

“My name is Ona Ayumi. I’ll be your homeroom teacher for this year. You can call me Ayumi-Sensei or Ninetails-Sensei. Whichever you’re more comfortable with. Now, let me do roll call real quick and then we’ll head down to orientation.”

X

After orientation, during which she discovered two of the cults dedicated to Nedzu had apparently merged, she gave the students a quick tour of the campus, showing them where Hound Dog’s office was, the path that led to the various gyms and training grounds U.A. had at disposal (It would have taken far too long to show them each individual gym and training ground), the locker rooms (She did not like that look on Mineta’s face), and any other places they would need to know about.

“Right. This is the cafeteria. Lunch Rush is in charge of it, so I don’t want to hear any complaints about quality.”

“He’s a Hero who specializes in disaster relief!” Midoriya spoke up, awe struck. “His Quirk: Supreme Chef, lets him craft high quality meals in under a minute no matter how complex-“ He cut himself off as Bakugo growled, seeming to shrink in on himself.

Ona did not like that.

“Anyway, that’s every place you need to be aware of. This school is massive, so if you still have trouble memorizing the layout, there are maps at the front office. Now, today is only a half day due to orientation, so we’ll be leaving after lunch. We have time so I want to do some exercises I’f you don’t mind. You’ll all find new gym uniforms in your desks. Please put them on and meet me at outside.” As the class began to leave, Ona spoke up. “Midoriya, may I speak to you in private for a moment?”

She did not miss the smug look on Bakugo’s face as Midoriya nervously shuffled up to her.

“Relax. You’re not in trouble. I only want to confirm some things with you.”

“Y-yes Sensei…”

“Your file says that you’re a late bloomer. In fact, your Quirk didn’t come in until a few days before the Entrance Exam.”

“Y-yes! That’s right. It turns out that my Quirk was too strong for my body to handle in its base state, so it ended up being suppressed until I had trained my body enough to properly handle it. I had a Pro Hero help me train but even now I can only use about 7% safely with my Full Cowling technique. I had to go full 100% percent to take down the Zero Pointer which you probably sawIhopeuoudon’thokdthatagainstneIjustcouldn’tstandtherewhileUrarakawasindangerandI’mtryingmybesttouseevenmoreofmyQuirk-“

“You’re rambling.”

“Ah! I-I’m sorry Sensei! I… I tend to mutter a lot…”

“So you can only use about 7% safely? Have you tried pushing it to 8%?”

‘Wait, did she actually understand that!?’

“Well, uh… 8%… I don’t break my bones or cause any noticeable but it does become painful to use…”

“Try using the absolute limit of your power that you can without breaking your body. If you remain in the safe zone and don’t push yourself, you’ll find it more difficult for your body to adjust to your power. Furthermore, I want you to try keeping your Quirk active for longer periods, even if you aren’t using it. This will also allow your body to adjust faster.”

“Y-yes Sensei! I’ll try!”

“Good, now go change.”

X

“We have some time before lunch, so I want to do some exercises.” Ona explained. “You’ll find that these are a lot like the ones you did in Junior High. Only difference is that here, you can use your Quirks.”

“Awesome!” Ashido cheered as the rest of the class looked excited. “This is gonna be so much fun!”

“Fun?” Ona mused. “Yes, I suppose that getting to use your Quirks unrestrained for the first time would be pretty fun. Do keep in mind though, this is merely training. I expect you all to take things a lot more seriously out in the field.” The class nodded. “Now, keep in mind, this isn’t a competition. You are not being graded on this. This will merely give me a glimpse at where your strengths and weaknesses lay so that we may adjust accordingly. There will be exercises where your Quirks are near useless, while others will be a perfect match. Midoriya, you had the highest score in the Entrance Exam.”

“Bullshit!” Bakugo snarled. There’s no way that Quirkless loser could score higher than me!”

“But… Midoriya has a Quirk.” Iida spoke up.

“Hah!?”

“Yeah! You should have seen it! He totally turned that Zero Pointer to scrap metal!” Uraraka spoke up.

“Wait, that was YOU!?” Kirishima asked. “Dude! That’s unbelievably manly!”

Ona cleared her throat.

“As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted.” She cast a glance at Bakugo, who fumed. “Midoriya, what was your furthest softball throw?”

Uh… 42 meters, I think.” Ona handed him the ball.

“Anything goes, just don’t leave the circle.” Izuku cautiously stepped up to the circle, remembering her words from earlier.

‘One For All: 8%’ Izuku poured the absolute maximum of power he could safely use into his arm, rearing back as his muscles began to cramp from the pain, he hurled the ball with all his might.

Ona’s tablet beeped.

278.3 METERS.

“Now then-“

“DEKU!!” Bakugo burst free of the crowd, blasting his way towards Midoriya, face contorted in rage as Midoriya winced but otherwise didn’t move. “TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR I’LL-“

ULTIMATE MOVE: VOID PRISON.

Before Bakugo could continue, shadowy arms burst from the ground beneath him, wrapping around almost his entire body but leaving his head and hands free, but in a position that he could not use them to escape.

“W-what the fuck-“

“What the HELL do you think you’re doing BOY!?” Ona practically shouted as she lowered her arms to keep Bakugo pinned to the ground.

“I’m trying to fucking remind Deku of his place! Let me go!!”

“Wrong answer.” She sent a quick text on her phone, before turning to look at the rest of the class. “Now then, while we wait for Hound Dog to come and collect Bakugo here, the rest of you will continue on with the exercises.”

X

“Hm…” Ona looked over the final scores on her tablet. Most of the class had at least one exercise that they excelled in…

Most of them.

Honestly, out of everyone in the class, Hagakure had the absolute poorest physical capabilities. From what she understood, the only reason the girl had even passed the Entrance Exam was because the robots had hidden power buttons on them.

“You all did your best, I won’t fault that. I can take these scores and use them to help you improve in areas where you’re weak, though I do have some concerns I’d like to address before I dismiss you for lunch. Todoroki, your Quirk registration form states that you can use both Ice and Fire, yet you did not use your fire at all, even during exercises where it would have improved your score.”

“I do not use my fire in battle.” Todoroki replied.

“Unacceptable. You can’t expect to coast by in heroics using only half your power. Not only is it insulting to everyone else giving their all, but it’s liable to get either you or someone else killed.”

“I will never use my flames in battle.” Todoroki responded confit as he looked Ona in the eye. “Nothing that you say will change that.”

“In that case, report to Class 1-C tomorrow, you’re demoted to General Education.”

The air grew frigid.

“What!?” Todoroki responded angrily.

“I refuse to waste my time on someone who refuses to put their all into their work. Heroics isn’t something you can half ass just because you feel like it. Now go.”

The air grew colder as ice crawled up Todoroki’s arm.

“Unless you’d rather leave in handcuffs.” Ona stated, looking him dead in the eye.

After a few seconds, Todoroki huffed and stormed off.

“On another note: Hagakure, please come see me after lunch so we can discuss some training exercises that may benefit you.”

“Y-yes Sensei!”

“Good. Now, one last thing.” A shadowy arm abruptly shot out, snatching the startled Mineta and dragging him close. “Don’t think I didn’t see and hear all the harassment you were subjecting your female classmates to boy! This is your ONLY warning! Clean up your act or you’re done!”

Ona released him, turning to the girls. “If he continues harassing you girls, inform me at once. Now, you’re all dismissed.” Ona turned on her heel as she started walking back toward the building, making her way to Nedzu’s office.

“Ah! Ayumi-San! The Bakugos should be here in a few minutes!” Nedzu said cheerfully.

“I can wait.” Ona huffed.

“Very well. Tea?” Ona accepted the cup without complaint. “I must say, quite the class you have this year. You do realize though, that the boy you demoted to General Education is Endeavor’s son?”

“And?” Ona asked uncaringly.

“You know how temperamental he can be. He will be none too pleased that you booted his son out of the Hero Course.”

“I’ve said it multiple times already. I refuse to waste my time on someone who refuses to put any effort into their work. If Endeavor has a problem with it, he can take it up with me.” Ona replied.

Nedzu’s computer beeped.

“Ah! It would seems the Bakugos are here!”

X

“You understand though, that your son’s record, which I might add was absolutely spotless, warranted suspicion on its own given his temperament and hyper aggression during the Entrance Exam. Today’s incident pretty much confirmed those suspicions.” Nedzu stated. Bakugo sat in a chair with Hound Dog looming over him, his parents to the side.

“He… We never had any complaints from his previous schools.” Mitsuki tried.

“Bakugo-San.” Ona began. “Your son tried to assault his classmate knowing full well I could see him. He didn’t hesitate to do so and was shouting a derogatory nickname at the boy. This kind of thing implies that he’s used to adults turning the other cheek to his behavior. So it’s extremely likely that Aldera Junior High covered up Katsuki’s behavior. There have been cases of schools doing this sort of thing so as to uplift students with powerful Quirks so they can mooch off their recognition as Heroes. Now, that being said, it doesn’t change the fact that Katsuki is still fully responsible for his own behavior.”

“L-look. I know how bad this looks, I can assure you Katsuki wants nothing more then to be a Hero-“

“And being a Hero gives him the right to throw a tantrum and assault others for what he personally perceives as a slight against himself?”

Mitsuki shut up.

“Is there anything we can do?” Masaru asked.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t at least give your son a chance to correct himself.” Ona huffed. “However, a chance is all he’ll get. One toe out of line, and he’s done.”

“This is bullshi-“ The boy was cut off by his mother slapping her hand over her mouth.

“Thank you for giving him this chance. I promise you won’t regret it.”

“Please do not make promises you can’t keep, Bakugo-San.” Ona stated bluntly as the family left. With a headache beginning to crop up, she went to draft up a list of gyms and trainers for Hagakure.

“So, watch’a doin’” Midnight asked. They were in the staff room.

“There were apparently issues regarding the diagrams of the first year Hero Costumes, so they only JUST arrived.” Ona huffed, taking a sip of her tea.

“Ah, so you’re only just going over them then?”

“Luckily they’re supposed to be doing costume tests today, so I can weed out any glaring issues before-“ She stopped, staring intently at one diagram.

She took a deep breath.

“Maijima.” Power Loader stiffened by the coffee machine. “A question. Students are barred from having live weaponry until their second year, and even then they need to take a licensing class with Snipe, correct?”

“Er… Yes? That’s correct.”

“So then would you mind telling me who the fuck approved explosive gauntlets for Katsuki Bakugo!? Because it sure as shit wasn’t me!” Ona snapped, holding up the offending diagram.

“I uh… Let me check.” The short man quickly made his way to his desk, typing on his computer. “Uh… Looks like all the first year costumes were approved by the Foundational Heroics Teacher this year.”

Ona slammed her face into her desk.

“I’d think he was doing this deliberately if he didn’t already prove himself an idiot.” She glanced at another file, and saw red. “WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?”

“What?” Power Loader asked.

“THEY DIDN’T EVEN GIVE HAGAKURE A COSTUME!!! ALL THAT’S ON HERE ARE BOOTS AND GLOVES!! DO THEY SERIOUSLY EXPECT A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL TO RUN AROUND BUCK ASS NAKED!?!? AND WHY THE FUCK DOES YAOYAROZU’S COSTUME LOOK LIKE IT BELONGS IN A STRIP CLUB!?”

“Er… Actually, Yaoyarozu got exactly what she asked for.”

“ZIPPERS ARE A THING!! HAGAKURE’S COSTUME OUTRIGHT VIOLATES HERO DECENCY LAWS AND YAOYAROZU’S DEFINITELY TOES THE LINE!!” She then took a deep breath to try and compose herself. “They are currently doing costume tests in Gym Gamma, yes?”

“Er… Actually…” Ona gave Snipe a look that told him he should watch his words carefully. “Well, All Might asked for advice about what he should do for his first class. I guess cause I happened to be there at the time, so I shared one of my old schedules. I uh… I think I might have given him a second year schedule by mistake though. I was kinda distracted.”

“And what exactly are the second year students supposed to be doing?”

“…Indoor Battle Trials…”

Ona turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, making her way across campus as fast as she could. As she debated whether or not to take her car, she pulled out her phone, calling Power Loader.

{O-Okay, listen, I know all of this sounds bad-}

“Shut up and patch my phone into Ground Beta’s Radio System.” Ona replied coldly as she decided it would eat up too much time taking a detour to her car, opting to use her Quirk to cross the campus quickly.

{Okay, yeah. I can do that.} After a few seconds, her phone was patched in.

The first thing she heard was Bakugo screaming and shouting about Midoriya being a ‘Useless bug’.

Because OF COURSE the two of them ended up against each other.

“All Might.”

{GAH! Young Ayumi, how did you-}

“Stop this match. RIGHT NOW. And relieve Bakugo of his gauntlets too!”

{Er… Y-yes! Everyone, stop fighting now!}

Ona sighed as she came into Ground Beta. Hopefully Bakugo would have enough sense to-

{YOUNG BAKUGO!! DO NOT PULL THAT PIN! MIDORIYA COULD DIE!!}

{He’ll be fine if he dodged!}

And then, Ona watched as the side of a nearby building exploded.

And then she watched as the building started to crumble.

‘FUCK! He destroyed a load bearing wall!’

Before she could react, she saw a large blur crash into the building, All Might coming out the other side carrying Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida, and Bakugo as the building collapsed.

She ran towards All Might’s landing site. Completely ignoring All Might, who was in the middle of scolding Bakugo, she tackled Bakugo to the ground, shadowy arms shooting out and shattering his gauntlets with ease.

“WHAT THE F-“ Before Bakugo could let loose his explosive rage, Ona chopped him on the neck, and he was out like a light.

“S-Sensei!?” Iida gawped.

“Young Ayumi, I really don’t think we should be attacking the students outside of combat training-“

“I am not ‘Attacking a student’ All Might.” Ona said icily. “I am subduing a dangerous teenager who not only willfully defied a direct order from his teacher, but just attempted to murder his classmate in doing so, putting several other students in danger in the process.”

“I-I don’t think Young Bakugo was trying to ACTUALLY murder Young Midoriya…”

“Tell me children, did you hear Might call the match off?”

“We did Sensei, yes. All Might spoke very clearly.” Iida responded with a chop of his hand.

“All Might, did you not explicitly order Bakugo not to use his gauntlets, telling him flat out that the resulting attack could be lethal?”

“Er… That is correct…”

“And Bakugo’s exact response to that, proving that he heard you and understood the order clearly, was to shout ‘He’ll be fine if he dodges’, and use the gauntlets anyway. Sounds to me like he knew exactly what he was doing!” Ona seethed. “And considering he was given a very clear warning yesterday about continuing to act out, It’s clear that this boy should have never been allowed into U.A. to begin with!” Ona seethed. “Now, I am going to take Bakugo to the Principal, while you take these kids to Recovery Girl. After everything is said and done, you and I are going to have a long chat.”

“Er… We are?”

“I can forgive you putting untrained students in Battle Trials since you’re new to teaching and were given a second year schedule to go off of by mistake. I can forgive you for signing off on Bakugo getting those gauntlets since, again, you’re new and most likely didn’t students aren’t allowed live weaponry until their second year.”

She turned to All Might with an icy glare.

“But what in the Nine Circles of Hell compelled you to sign off on Hagakure running around ALMOST COMPLETELY NUDE!?”

“Wait, Hagakure’s NAKED!?” Midoriya freaked. “I WAS STANDING NEXT TO HER FOR FIVE MINUTES!!”

“I… We’ll…” All Might fidgeted nervously. “I figured… Since she’s invisible-“

All Might was cut off by a large, shadowy fist to the face.

“Children, be dears and inform Hagakure to change into her gym uniform at once.” Ona told the students as she lugged the unconscious Bakugo away, keeping his hands bound behind his back in case he woke up.

“The way I see it, Bakugo-San…” Tsukauchi sighed as they finished reviewing the footage of the Battle Trial, which not only showed the attempted murder, but that Bakugo had been acting far too violently for what was supposed to a training exercise. Ona was going to lay into All Might for not stopping the fight sooner. “There are two options: The first is that your son will be sent to a rehabilitation course. He will be heavily monitored, and if he steps out of line even once, he’ll be going to prison. The second option is that we skip the rehabilitation and send him straight to prison. Either way, this is going on his record.”

“If we do the rehabilitation… Will Katsuki still be able to become a Hero?”

“I suppose that depends wholly on how well he does, but it will be much harder, and I doubt he’ll be able to get the high level training that schools like U.A. offers.”

In the end, the Bakugo parents accepted the deal to send Katsuki to a rehabilitation center run by a Dr. Kojima.

“Sensei?” Ona briefly glanced in the direction of the voice.

“Yes Midoriya, what is it?”

“Um… It’s about Kachan… I… I don’t think he should be expelled-“

“Out of the question.” Ona cut him off.

“Please, he’s never faced punishment before, he doesn’t-“

“Doesn’t know what he did was wrong? Is that what you were going to say? He’s fifteen Midoriya, even if your old school never punished him, he’s still old enough to be held accountable for his own actions.”

“But-“

“Furthermore, his parents seem like pretty decent people, and his mother doesn’t look like someone who would take crap from him, so I find it really hard to believe that he somehow made his way through life without some kind of punishment or reprimand.”

“H-he can be a great Hero…”

“Why? Because of his Quirk? Just having a strong Quirk doesn’t make you suitable Hero material. Especially when you have the personality of an entitled brat and will throw a violent tantrum when things don’t go your way.”

“But…”

“Midoriya, I have a hypothetical for you.” Ona interrupted. “Say a kid walks up to another child who in their school, only to start violently beating the other kid just because they feel slighted. what should happen to the aggressor?”

“Obviously they should face consequences. And depending on the severity of the beating, he would be expelled or even sent to prison.”

“Okay, but the aggressor also wants nothing more than to be a Hero, and is putting in as much effort as they possibly can to achieve that dream.”

“T-that doesn’t change things! If he wants to be a Hero, he can’t just go around hurting people out of spite!”

“I see… By that logic, what makes Bakugo so special?”

“…H-huh?”

“You’re contradicting yourself Midoriya. You say this hypothetical aggressor should face the consequences of his actions, yet you continue to defend Bakugo when he does the same. Why?”

“…He’s my friend… Izuku choked out.

“Midoriya, I don’t think Bakugo has been your friend for a long time.”

And just like that, Izuku’s whole world view was shattered as the past decade of his life suddenly became so much clearer.

They looked out the window at the sound of muffled screaming, witnessing a pair of cops dragging an enraged Bakugo.

For a brief moment Bakugo locked eyes with Midoriya through the window, and his rage renewed to the point the cops had to tase him.

Ona sighed, pulling out a pen and notepad and jotting down a quick note that she handed to Midoriya.

“Here, take this to Hound Dog at once. You’re to start seeing him every Monday until he clears you.” She said before turning and walking away.

“There’s so many of them.” Vlad huffed as he looked out the window. Several days into the school year, and the media just NOW decides to crowd around U.A.’s front gate. Even worse, they were harassing students and keeping them from entering the school, all in the hopes of getting a scoop about All Might being a teacher.

“If this keeps up, we’ll have no choice but to get the police involved.” Ectoplasm mused. They watched as Ona strode up to the gate and used her Quirk to pluck the held up students from the crowd of reporters, before giving the media leeches a harsh warning and striding back to the school. One particularly ballsy reporter tried to walk through the gate, only to leap back as she triggered the U.A. Barrier.

“You all need to decide on a Class Representative.” Ona stated as she walked into the class with Midoriya, Uraraka, and several other students she had rescued from the media. I need to file some paperwork, so decide how you want to elect one. Any method works.”

She paused in the middle of sitting down.

“Actually, absolutely no death matches in clown costumes. Is that clear?”

The class sweat dropped at the fact that she felt the need to single out that specific method.

The rest of the day went pretty hectic. Midoriya had been elected Class Rep, only to give the position up to Iida after the press broke in during lunch and the bespectacled boy had managed to calm the students down. Ona allowed it since it looked like Midoriya’s nerves had been frayed more than enough these past few days.

Ona did get a good laugh out of some of the press being dragged off campus in handcuffs.

She had just dismissed the class for the day when a student approached her desk.

“Is there something you need Hagakure?” Ona asked, noting the girl looked fidgety.

“I… I’m sorry I didn’t approach you earlier Sensei. I was trying to process what happened…”

“What is it? Was it Mineta?”

“N-no. During the press break in earlier, since I’m invisible, people didn’t notice me, so I was practically getting trampled. I-I managed to slip into the teacher’s lounge to catch my breath…”

“If that’s what you’re worried about, you’re not in trouble. Student’s aren’t allowed in there without permission, but given the circumstances, I’ll let it slide-“

“No! That’s not it! There was someone in there! A man I didn’t recognize! I don’t think he was a teacher or a student! He was taking pictures of files from someone’s desk.”

“Did he see you?” Was Ona’s first question.

“I think he saw my uniform when he was leaving. He left through some kind of musty portal thing.”

“Show me the desk he was going through!”

Twenty minutes later, the staff watched as Hound Dog sniffed around All Might’s desk.

“There’s definitely a scent I don’t recognize.” The man growled, opening one of the drawers. He pulled out a folder and gave it a good sniff.

“Scent’s strongest on this one.” He held out the folder.

“Those are the schedules for next week’s Heroics Lessons.” All Might explained. Ona took the folder and began looking over its contents.

“… The one that stands out to me the most is the USJ trip with 1-A.”

“Why that one?”

“Think about it.” Ona tossed the folder onto the desk. “The USJ is an isolated facility at least a few miles from the main building. If villains wanted to attack U.A., it makes sense to target the USJ. If they figure out how to disable the security, they could cut the facility off from the rest of the campus completely, and considering All Might is supposed to be there, it stands to reason that this won’t just be a small group of ragtag thugs.”

“So we must suspect a full blown invasion.” Nudzu mused. “I do not like this at all.”

The students of U.A. Were confused. Their teachers told them that today would be a half day for reasons they would not disclose. They also stated that they were to head straight home, no excuses. As the we’re leaving the campus, they were treated with an unnerving sight.

Third year students in Hero Uniforms, Pro Heroes gathering by the droves, and several squadrons of police officers.

“Iida, isn’t that your brother?” Uraraka asked, pointing to the man clad in armor.

“Tensei!” Iida called. “Brother, what’s going on? Why are all of these Pro Heroes and Police gathering?”

“I can’t tell you right now Tenya.” The older Iida explained. “But I promise I’ll explain everything at home tonight. All of you head straight home. No detours, okay?”

The students left campus with a feeling of dread.

{Breaking News as U.A. High School is invaded by villains!}

Izuku and his mother could only watch in horror as the news explained how an army of villains, along with four genetically modified creatures, broke into U.A. Campus and engaged with the Heroes and police present with the intent of killing All Might.

{Reports state that the villains were successfully repelled, however, both sides have suffered heavy casualties.}

The footage cut to a familiar red haired woman laying on a stretcher and attached to an oxygen tank as her broken body was pulled into an ambulance.

“Sensei…” Izuku whispered in shock.

“Ninetails took this from their leader?” Tsukauchi asked, holding up the severed hand.

“We believe she may have been trying to capture Shigaraki himself as he was escaping through Kurogiri’s Warp Gate.” Nedzu explained as he sat beside All Might. “Though given the extent of her injuries, it’s a miracle she managed to grab anything at all.”

“Shigaraki was wearing a lot of these hands. He went ballistic when Young Ayumi took this one from him.” All Might stated.

“Right, we’ll run it through forensics. Anything else?”

“Yes actually. When Young Ayumi took this, Shigaraki started screaming that it belonged to someone named Hana.”

Notes:

-To be fair, Bakugo wasn’t much worse then his early Canon self here, he just had the misfortune of getting stuck with a teacher who had no intention of putting up with his Titan Lost sized ego.

-Don’t worry, Endeavor with show up in the next part when that releases someday.

-Ona’s secretly a big softie when it comes to kids.
