When the high ranking Cadian officer Sasha Marx is found guilty of ignoring protocol during multiple battles, even as they lead to incredible victories, she is punished in a way that will upset the least amount of military personnel but still manage to get the point across. She gets demoted all the way down to a simple Recruit, and is attached to the newly devised "Special-Training-Platoon" where her teenage son Jack is in command.
Surrounded by skilled but naïve and tense young boys, deprived of release for the many years she's been in command, and surrounded by perverted Drill Sergeants, The newest training group of the Astra Militarum is in for some rather "experimental" methods of preparation for the rigors of war, and for building comradery amongst their new and untested family.
