Shadow of U.A.

Summary:

After hours in god home, trying to climb to the top of the fifth pantheon, they had done it. They had finally defeated the Radiance in her most powerful form... only to be zapped to another dimension by the pale flower they had given the god seeker. Great.

Notes:

I've had experience with writing before, but this is my first time posting to this website, and it's much more complex than the one I was using before so I'm not very good at using the tag system yet. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!(Italic text= thoughts, bold text= Ghost talking through telepathy, whosoever name appears first in a paragraph is whose third person limited POV it is)

Chapter Text

They had done it. After days of trying to defeat every 'god' the fifth pantheon threw at them, they had finally killed the Radiance in her most powerful form! They were also apparently the 'god of gods' now, whatever that meant. Now what? They had been trying for so long to get through the pantheon that they hadn't even considered what would happen once they finished it. I should probably leave god home, all this void can't be good for the god seeker .

Suddenly, a bizarre pale glow began to fill all of god home. The lord of Shades tried to fight the strange light, but its source was in the physical world, and the light just kept on getting brighter, and brighter, and brighter...

In an alley in Musutafu, Japan, pitch black orbs of an unknown material, resembling dreamcatchers, begin appearing. First in a small amount, then slowly more and more appear until a burst of white light erupts from the center, a small being falling out of the light onto a trash can, knocking it and several others close by over. A fifteen year-old boy named Izuku Midoriya freezes, startled by the sound and afraid, due to recent events, that a villain might be nearby. When no villain emerges from the alley, he slowly peeks his head around the corner, surprised by what he sees. A thin, child-like person lays on the ground, unconscious. A strange black liquid oozes upwards out of what looks like eye holes in a mask; the liquid wrapping around them in misshapen, writhing arcs. I don't know who that is, but they look hurt, I should help them . However, before the green haired teen can act, the being slowly gets off the ground, appearing almost as if they're out of breath. They then crouch down, glowing white orbs erupting from their body, slowly moving towards them, however once the orbs come into contact with them, the white substance is forcefully ejected from their body, as if their body rejected it. This causes the black arcs to get more intense, even cracking the mask the being is wearing slightly. That can't be good! Izuku runs towards the being, hoping to help them, "Hey! Are you okay?" the boy says, hoping to help the person he just found. They seem surprised by the boy, more black arcs erupt from their body, seemingly transforming their whole body into the substance, their eyes seemingly multiplying and glow bright white. The substance propels them backwards, deeper into the alley. This results in more of the substance arcing around their body, their cloak tearing, more cracks forming on their mask, allowing even more of the substance to leak out. "Hey, what's going on!?" Izuku said, concerned about what was happening to the being in the alley.

It felt as though their body was being ripped apart, and yet it felt like they were trapped, and was being released from that prison. It felt similar to when they had been killed in Hallownest, but far more intense. Their mask finally split in half, the void arcing around them now merging with their shade that emerged from their broken body. They began to activate their focus ability, the void arcs and tendrils being absorbed into their body, their body compressing into a far smaller form, almost like a combination of their shade, and what they normally look like. The void stops arcing around Ghost, although now their body is completely void. They stood up looking up at the creature that had seemingly wanted to help them. "Uh... are you... okay?" the boy said. "My name is Izuku Midoriya, What's your name?". Ghost looked up at Izuku Midoriya and pointed at where their mouth would be, if they had one. "Oh, you can't talk?" Izuku said, prompting Ghost to nod in response. "Hmm. Well, can you write?". Ghost thought for a moment. I can read the language used throughout Hallownest, and write it to some extent as well, but I doubt that this place uses the same language . Ghost shook their head no. "Okay. Um... do you have any family members you can go to?" Izuku asked, slightly exasperated. Ghost thought for a moment before shaking their head. Izuku's face turned to one of concern. "Okay, um, follow me. I'll bring you to my apartment, and we'll see if my mom will let you stay with us for a while." Izuku told Ghost.

Izuku felt tired from his day of training with All Might, but he couldn't just leave this child here alone. At least I'm pretty sure they're a child. Are they a child? It doesn't matter right now. The two of them reached his apartment building, making their way to Izuku and his mother's apartment. "Izuku, why were you out for so long? I wa-" Izuku's mother began, noticing the child following him. "Izuku, why is there a small naked child following you? What's going on?". Izuku stuttered for a few seconds, trying to figure out what exactly to tell his mother. "Uh, well, I found them in an alley. They can't talk and they don't have any family they can go to. I'm sorry about this, I know it's out of nowhere, but I couldn't just leave them there. So I wanted to ask, um, if they could live with us for the time being.". Inko Midoriya sighed before responding. "Well, It is unexpected, but I see no problem with it for the time being." Inko began, "that being said, you should really find some clothes for them, also do you know what their name is or?". "O-oh, right! Um, do we still have my clothes from when I was little?". Izuku thought to himself about their name. Because they can't talk... I don't even know how we would figure that out. "I'll go look for your old clothes Izuku." his mother told Izuku, going into another room of their apartment. "Um, is there any way that you could tell me what your name is?" Izuku asked. The child thought for a moment before seemingly having an idea, pulling out what looked like a dream catcher on a stick and held it out to Izuku. What is this? "Um... what do I do with this?" Izuku asked. The child pointed at it before holding it like a sword, the dream catcher beginning to glow as a blade of light erupted from it before the child swung it at Izuku. The blade struck Izuku, but he only felt a strange warmth as well as a strange sense of light-headedness. "Wha-what was that?" Izuku asked as the child handed him the sword, motioning for him to hit them. "What?! You want me to hit you with this?" Izuku asked, his surprised and slightly concerned reaction met with the child nodding. "O-okay. If you say so..." Izuku said, activating the blade, and swinging it through the child. As soon as the blade touched the child, everything suddenly became... fuzzy, almost like a dream, along with a voice, projected directly into his head. "Hi Izuku! My name is Ghost!" . Izuku dropped the sword. "Woah, that... what was..?" Izuku began before his mother came back into the room holding a small shirt, pants, and other articles of clothing that she placed in front of Ghost.

Ghost began putting on the clothes Inko had brought them as Izuku began talking to his mother. Ghost was pleasantly surprised by the clothes that these creatures wore. They didn't restrict their movement and were pretty comfortable. "... Well it's getting late, so we should probably eat and then go to sleep." Inko said, seemingly ending the conversation between the two. "I only made enough food for Izuku and me, but I can give you some of mine." Inko told Ghost. Ghost waved their arms back and forth, pointing at their mouth; attempting to motion to the other two that they didn't need to eat, which they were surprisingly able to figure out. Ghost sat on the couch in the apartment, attempting to check out their charms. All of them were broken. Well not all of them, but most of them had disappeared, the only ones remaining were the three lifeblood charms, the shape of Unn, the dreamshield, and finally the Grimchild charm. But they didn't give off any essence. Upon equipping them, they no longer had any effect, as if something had drained the energy out of them. The rest of the objects they had collected were all gone, however the pure nail had seemingly been transformed into void. At least I still have my nail. "Alright, it would probably be best if you go to sleep." Inko told Ghost. Ghost responded by giving Inko a thumbs-up. Inko responded in return with an "Awww!", which bugged Ghost, but it wasn't a particularly big deal. Ghost laid down and closed their eyes.

Ghost awoke in the dream realm, except it felt off, and not just because they were in their giant Shade Lord form. It felt almost like it was disconnected from something. It also more resembled the abyss rather than the dream realm they had known, or at least a combination between the two. In front of Ghost was what looked like the Godseeker, except they were withered, void leaking from their eyes. The Godseeker fell to the ground and began to talk to Ghost. "Lord of Shades, Void given Focus; Forgive us for our ignorance. We deserve nothing but your fury upon us for our immense disrespect towards you. You are the god of gods. You have ascended above all and-" "wow, I forgot how annoying you are." Ghost interrupted, leading the Godseeker to begin apologizing profusely. "Okay, just... stop, um, can you tell me why exactly the dream realm looks like this?" Ghost asked the Godseeker. "You ascended by destroying the Goddess of dreams, allowing the void to enter the realm which is now godless. You and I have been disconnected from the world of Hallownest, leading to the separation of us from the true dream realm, only able to access a shadow of it that is connected to the world you find yourself in." The Godseeker informed Ghost. The dream realm began fading. Am I waking up? Ghost woke up, getting up from the couch, distracted by the beauty of the sunrise.

A man with blue-gray hair and human hands covering his body stepped towards a strange inhuman body lying on the ground, wearing golden clothes and a golden mask. A pitch-black fluid oozed out of its body, small globs of the liquid floating upwards. The man dipped his finger in it, immediately taking it out and shaking his hand in pain. "Kurogiri, send this mess back to the base. I think that master may find it interesting." the man requested as another man whose body seemed to be made of a purple and black smoke approached the corpse. "Indeed. I predict that this discovery will be important for our mission." the smoke-bodied man responded, smoke extending from his hands and surrounding the corpse.
