Every Madrigal on their fifth birthday gained a soul mark. Felix and Agustin both received one on the day they married their partner. Alma received one the day she lost her husband, the bond between the married couple fading and replacing with a new one. Alma called it a connection to their miracle, to their family.
After all, why else would it be a butterfly?

Mirabel has a soulbond with every member of her family, too bad they won't acknowledge them. But that's okay, if they don't want her as a soul mate she'll just prove that she's worth it. Until then she'll keep them hidden, even as they weep and spread across her whole body. Even as the darkness threatens to swallow her up.
