Dream freezes, feet rooted to the ground. Phil draws his gun, wings snapping open as if to protect him.
The faceless government thugs don’t hesitate, and neither does Phil.
For a few seconds Dream just watches. He can’t move, he doesn’t even think he’s breathing. He can’t- he’s not-

When he finally manages to calm his breathing, his gaze fixes on the ground.
A rotting potato lies beside him. It almost looks like a mockery.

Tommy and Dream were friends. Full stop. No manipulation, no abuse, or anything else the rest of the server thought was going on between them.
Yet, Tommy finds Dream near a river by their house, not remembering how he died, or the months of prison leading up to it.---
“Hey, Dream?” Tommy asked, making sure to keep his voice slightly lower than normal, both in case the ghost was easily startled and to not wake any of his household, “How’d you die?”
Dream merely tilted his head, chirping once. Tommy’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Can you… Can you talk, Big Man?”
A shake of his head, and oh god Tommy needed a nap.Series

Pretty dramatic if you ask him, but he's not complaining. They trained him for any assanation, every possible outcome, and for every mission.
But nothing could prepare him for having to go to his little brother's school and kill the Watson family.

The gremlin kid was watching tv upon arrival, happily greeting him and techno. Well, granted, his greeting was far more rude and endearing.

"Oh you brat." Dream said under his breath, shaking his head at the mere disrespect.
