Tommy and Dream were friends. Full stop. No manipulation, no abuse, or anything else the rest of the server thought was going on between them.
Yet, Tommy finds Dream near a river by their house, not remembering how he died, or the months of prison leading up to it.---
“Hey, Dream?” Tommy asked, making sure to keep his voice slightly lower than normal, both in case the ghost was easily startled and to not wake any of his household, “How’d you die?”
Dream merely tilted his head, chirping once. Tommy’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Can you… Can you talk, Big Man?”
A shake of his head, and oh god Tommy needed a nap.Series

Dream closed his eyes and tried not to imagine the cell.
“What the fuck are you doing? Are you- are you trying to manipulate me again?” Tommy screamed. Dream didn’t flinch; he was used to being screamed at.

Summary
Dream and Tommy sit on a dock. Once with the sun, twice without it, third time it's getting repetitive.

They sat in a semi-comfortable silence, until Dream silently muttered, guilt tinting his voice in shades of green, “It’s been a week.”
Tommy hummed in agreement. He gave no other answer.
“Has nobody visited?”
Tommy hummed again, this time in disagreement. Dream shifted awkwardly. Tommy felt oddly proud, but it wasn’t enough to make his blank face waver.
“You know…” Dream hesitated for a moment, “I’m sorry nobody’s here. I asked them to visit you. Nobody deserves to be completely alone, you know?”
When Tommy offered no further answer, Dream sighed audibly, but didn’t try again. They just sat, both absently watching as the sun pulled the stars to cover the sky. At some point, Dream had set a torch down, which crackled and blinked in tune with their pulses.

If there's one thing Dream knows, it's that the world has never been on his side.
When his status as an outcast is easy to tell just by looking at him - when his inability to fall in love and understand the rituals and do it all right has made him stand out as long as he can remember - it's hard to view himself as worth anything. He'll be left alone anyway, right?
Right?
Dream sighs and drags a hand through his hair, catching a few smaller tangles along the way. “Do you… Okay, do you think I’ll ever just– randomly get a streak?”
George squints at him.
“Like, it’s not… not impossible, right? Maybe I’ll wake up and oh, there it is! A little… I don’t know. George, I have been awake for far too long.”

Summary
There's a stranger in Dream's bed. All of their doors are locked. This stranger is not waking up.
These three facts all lead to a very awkward morning in the Dream Team household which sours even more when the stranger turns out to also be Dream, one who doesn't know where he came from either.
Who is this Dream, how did he get here, why does he know nothing about their world, and - maybe most important of all - what happened to him?
He gets a message on his phone. youre staring. Dream looks over at George and gets a raise of the brow back.
He's just concerned, that's all; he's worried about the man that showed up in his house randomly and keeps exhibiting textbook trauma responses, sometimes without realising it himself. It's worse, then, that every time he looks at that same man he sees what could've been him, had things gone differently.
Instead of thinking about it any longer, though, Dream continues eating.
