Summary
This close, Lan Wangji could see the obvious differences between the man and Wei Wuxian. He was a little shorter, a little older than Wei Ying was when he died, and a good deal more delicate. Wei Wuxian had a presence that Lan Wangji had never seen in anyone since, like he knew he was the most powerful man in any room he walked into and resented that fact. This man, of course, did not carry himself that way. Instead, there was an air of operatic tragedy that hung around his person, like he was the main character in a fable whose only job in the narrative was to suffer. The delicate metal mask that hung from his belt certainly added to that.
He was also wearing makeup to emphasize his eyes and lips.
