Willow nods at him. Once. Slowly. “For Flapjack?” she says, and she’s holding out her hand.
He’s definitely about to cry. He doesn't want to. He can cry in front of Luz, but he just - can’t in front of Willow. He’s supposed to be strong. He’s supposed to keep her - keep all of his friends safe. Letting himself be that raw, that vulnerable - it's something unheard of for him.
Taking her hand, he wipes furiously at his eyes with his other. “For Flapjack.” He repeats, and his voice breaks.
“You don’t have to… to not be sad, you know,” Willow whispers, and Titan, he doesn’t want to do this. Because if he thinks about it too long, he’ll crumble. “I get he meant a lot to you. And - you’ve been through a lot, you know?” She glances at him. He wonders if she’s looking at his scars.
(He’d once thought that he liked who he was. Who he looked like.
Now he hardly knows who he is.)
