Work Text:
Expectation versus reality was one path that the wanted outcome never seemed to coincide with. Somehow being slammed with missions versus waiting for a new one left the latter the more tedious dragged out one. For the last almost week Fireteam Onyx had been sitting on standby without much to do but wait. The double hunter with added titan trio had each made use of the free time to the point of errands being done and a boatload of Crucible had been played, not to mention settling on a fireteam name. Every inch of accessible Tower space had been investigated, explored, and areas most unlikely to be found- well… found.
They’d sat in the uncomfortable chairs in the War Cult room, hung out around the sitting area that New Monarchy had in the Bazaar, harassed Drifter exploring his area to the point he had to send the hunters elsewhere (All the while yelling at them to go play Gambit if they were so bored), and of course couldn’t find anymore areas to chill around the cargo bays. Troy had made himself busy elsewhere on the fifth day, saying to call him when news came in, while the hunter duo had perched themselves on a ledge, Murdoc sitting upside down while Hawk munched on some chicken tenders.
“I’m soooo bored.” Murdoc groaned into the abyss below her head.
“Want a chicken tender? Real good eatin, made fresh this morning.” Hawk offered.
“I’m fine, food isn’t going to fill the void, the stress of waiting is killing my appetite anyway.” Murdoc grumbled, kicking the wall.
“Suit yourself.” He shrugged.
She sighed, picking up his helm he’d taken off and staring into the eyes of the Celestial Nighthawk helm, soon she was watching as her friend’s fluffy hair wiggled in the wind.
“What? Stop starin’ like that, lookin like some type of mooncalf.”
“Have you ever braided your hair?”
“Don’t you think of touching my hair, I know you’re bored but that’s one line that isn’t getting crossed.”
“Awe, no fun!” Murdoc pouted.
“My beauty is a privilege.” he spoke with a wide smirk.
Murdoc rolled her eyes, turning right side up before standing, “I’m going to go find something else to do, have fun with your good looks.”
She tossed him his helmet back before making her way elsewhere, hoping that a new mission would come in sooner rather than later.
